I did not tour Gentry Park on the 23td. Instead I met with in a[name removed] conference room for a Q&A session. I did not see an apartment or anything more than the lobby. What I did see was well kept and the staff seemed very friendly.

The staff was nice but administrators need improvement. Also they are understaffed. We had an incident where my dad fell and he was injured and no one even called me. I went several times at hat he was there and was glad bc what would have happened if I didn't visit?

Too much turnover

I’m blown away by any positive reviews of this place. My family had a horrible experience! While some of the activity directors do their best to provide engagement with patients, the nursing office is awful. They don’t care about your loved one or your opinion about their care. There are two head nurses, both named [name removed], who won’t listen or even follow Doctors orders! If you go to the nurses station they will be dismissive and condescending, even when you prove them wrong about their assumptions. If your Doctor prescribes medication on an “as needed” basis, like pain medication, they will not give it unless the patient requests it. These are dementia patients and don’t have the ability to ask for pain medication!!! Heartless and uncaring corporation that knows you’re just a number that can easily be replaced by the next family. Don’t fall for the sales pitch. These are truly uncaring employees who could care less about your loved one. There has to be better options.

I would not recommend this place. My experience with the memory Care department. There was horrible and because of their not caring. My husband proceeded to deteriorate wind up in the hospital. Had to go to another nursing facility and wind it up dying I would never ever recommend this place. If I could give it a triple zero for the memory Care service from the bottom all the way to the top was terrible!.

My parents had a terrifying experience at the Claremont Place! On [date removed] my 93 year old mother and 95 year old father, who has Dementia and Parkinson’s, were moved into the Claremont Place. In the middle of the night on [date removed], Two female caretakers came into the room. One of them threatened my mother, saying she had heard that my mom had complained about her and was going to “teach her a lesson.” My mom called me Sunday morning, [date removed], crying hysterically and hyperventilating. After calming her down, she explained what happened, assuring me that she had never complained about anyone or anything. Mom called the paramedics because she was terrified and having a panic attack. Mom could never relax or sleep after that and had friends move them back into their home. My parents lost approximately $[removed] that they will never get back. Please think carefully before moving a loved one into the Claremont Place.

The aides, for the most part, are caring and compassionate towards the residents. However the medical care is truly lacking. The attending physician only visits weekly at the most (and sometimes will miss a week) and communication with the family is very poor, leading one to wonder if visits even truly occur (other than to bill medicare en masse for all the residents).

When it comes to memory care they need to have a better system for aggressive dementia patients like my father. Asking the family to remove them is not compassionate nor a logical solution when you are supposed to be a specialized memory care facility.

I’m lost for words I’ve seen so many roaches in the past two months. For the amount of money I’m paying for mom it’s disappointing. I went to talk to the wellness director and she was rude and said “there’s nothing she can do talk to the front desk”. How would the front desk help me? That’s why I’m moving mom at the end of the month. Their customer service is subpar.

My father in law suffered innumerable falls and died after hitting his head in one of them. Memory care facilities are small, claustrophobic, and understaffed. Although the facility is lovely, please look past the fact that memory care patients are locked behind a door and hardly ever leave. One instance of understaffing that we witnessed firsthand was when a son asked for assistance changing his father’s diaper and I don’t know if anyone ever came to help him.

Fantastic staff that keeps my mom safe and comfortable despite frequent turnover at exec dir level. Nursing staff and Caregiver staff (who dress her walk her around) are excellent.

We took my sister out of the pinnacle in less then a year due to lack of care and under staffing. theft was also an issue. To keep it simple, they are very under staffed, do not provide the care promised and are mismanaged.

At first, I was very happy with The Meridian. However, after about three weeks when I needed help with my mother’s pacemaker The Director of health, whose name is [name removed] didn’t even care. Didn’t respond to any of my messages nor did he follow up. Then when I gave them sufficient notice that I was traveling with my mom back to New York City so that they would have enough time to get all of her medication together. Messed that up. They had two weeks to make sure I had everything. After being gone for three days, I realize she did not have her blood thinner, and he had shorted her unto her medication’s. All resulted in emergency surgery. Once I realized that I was missing the blood thinners I reached out to [name removed] immediately and absolutely no response. They need to get their act together. Let our time there be a warning to you.

We would give a 1 for all... Our loved one had a terrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Areas they could improve on - Friendliness of staff, kitchen (food, policies), Quality of care, cleanliness (rooms weren't cleaned). Staff stole from my dad. I could go on and on

This is not a good place to leave a loved-one. They only care about the money and just over-drug their residents, They are short of help so they are unable to provide the quality of care they promise. Look elsewhere.

We had a horrible experience here. Once Stellar took over it went down hill. We moved mom here from another Stellar community and then this one was bought by Stellar. Stellar comes in and spends money to make the place look good, but spends nothing on staffing, training, etc. DO NOT go to a Steller owned community. Tried to talk to management several times and nothing would change. Mom was very rarely bathed. Registered nurse had no compassion. Found staff napping in mom's bed in the middle of the day. The night my mom passed their was one staff member for 20+ residents on the floor--4 hospice patients included.

Our Mother lived in the memory unit a total of 18 days with family and a friend visiting at various times. Constantly addressing issues. Mom went from walking on her own, singing, and feeding herself to laying in her bed without being checked on, hearing aids not in or on, food not being soft or cut so unable to eat. Same excuses as to why Mom was in bed, hearing aids not on and food. Although forms completed prior to moving there staff had no idea of food requirements. I visited Mom 3 days in a row, on third day found Mom in her bed again unresponsive this time. Ambulance called and taken to the hospital. Mom was dehydrated which exacerbated other health issues. Mom did not return to The Pinnacle and I would NOT recommend anyone move a loved one there. Also I received 3 invoices the first billing cycle: the first 2 bills were wrong. I would give a minus rating if possible.

My Father fell many times at Meridian at Waterways. He sadly passed away from his last fall, hitting his head and developing a brain bleed. This review is for the Memory Care floor. The space feels cramped, lack of activities for all levels of residents. Staff is minimal. There is not really anywhere to walk except around the hallways on the Memory Care unit. On the plus side the location is nice, beautiful views, and facilities. However, if you are on the fourth floor you will rarely get to utilize these.

This was one of the worst facilities I’ve ever heard of, and seen- they treated my mother with disrespect, they were uncaring and not attentive at all. The aids all need retraining, to understand what the meaning of caring for someone with dementia actually means. It does not mean you tease them. It does not mean that you grab them by their arms and force them to do things they don’t want to do it does not mean That you complain about the family when they’re asking you to check in on their mother because she has fallen in her room- it definitely does not mean that there should be 4 aids standing around while your mother is crumpled on the floor, crying. it definitely does not mean you call the family members liars when they have video proof of the way their mother is being treated. it does not mean you say the family is just trying to make excuses to sue the facility. It does not mean when a family member complains that your reply is “SMH” rather than looking into the issue.

My mother has been in their memory care for 2 years. The first year was fantastic, specifically the memory care director. Once [name removed] took over executive leadership of memory care leadership changed, and everything changed for the worse. The new memory care director makes an effort but is nowhere to be found during the holidays, doesn't communicate events of arrange anything with the families and the residents are given cold leftovers instead of the festive dinners that used to occur. [name removed] cuts out mid day when you have a meeting with her and doesn't return calls. Communication is a nightmare. The nurses are fantastic, but it's clear there is tremendous turnover likely due to the underperforming management. The costs are excessive; sure you get great nurses, but the residents are not getting any extra benefits they deserve for the costs you pay.
