Maplewood Senior Living

I recently attended the Maplewood Family Thanksgiving Dinner this evening and what a well organized event this was. This was my first family dinner with my parents and I'm so blessed to have spent the evening in their new home. They have placed a lot of guilt on my husband and I for this move, but this evening showed me just how comfortable they are and "settled in". The Staff is always smiling and pays close attention to each detail. The food is home cooked and tasteful, the nurses are educated and follow thru and the managers are all equally involved with the residents. I'm pleased with my decision to move mom and dad to Maplewood and even more so blessed to see them happy.

My mother stayed in the Assisted Living for 4 weeks in the Respite program. Her goal was to return home and Maplewood's therapy team was wonderful with my mom. They got her stronger and walking safely with a walker. She went home - lives just down the street. If something should arise again or she would need an long term option - I'd have no hesitations in calling on Maplewood to care for her again. Clean, lots of natural light and their care team is top notch.

Maplewood at Cuyahoga falls is a great community to live in. Lots of activities through out the day, food is top notch, and the staff care for you like you are one of their own. If anyone reached out asking for advice, I would suggest this facility no question.

We brought my mother to Maplewood a little over a year ago and have nothing but high praise for the facility and it’s staff and administration. While my mother is unaware of where she is, she still responds to the kindness and attention she receives here. She is treated with dignity and gentleness and she is happy. We feel wonderful having her here. We found Maplewood through the very high recommendation of another resident’s family and we were sold almost as soon as we walked in the front door. It is a beautiful, clean, welcoming place that (important to us based on past experience) smells really good! Because we live very near the facility, we are there almost daily and see first hand how the facility functions and if we have any concerns, they are addressed immediately. Administration is very helpful, staff become dear friends, and other residents and their families become as one’s own family. This has become a very special place for our family and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful place for a loved one needing full care.

While we tried to keep our family member in his home as long as possible after his Lewy Body Dementia diagnosis, we knew in early '17 that this was no longer an option. It was no longer safe for him. After a fall resulting in a hospital stay, we needed to make a fairly quick decision on the best facility for him, as he was not able to go back home. Over the course of just a few days, we visited several facilities in the area. Many were very nice. Maplewood was our last stop and we immediately knew this was the right place for him. We came in unannounced and without an appointment. We were greeted with warm, friendly smiles. The staff took the time to answer any and all questions we had and took us on a tour of the facility. As mentioned, this visit was unannounced. There was no time for staging, cleaning, getting residents dressed nicely, etc. The facility was spotless, organized activities were underway and residents seemed content and happy. After a meeting with the director the following day, our decision was made. They helped with the arrangements to move him in the following day. At that point, we didnt know if this was going to be temporary or permanent. We took things day by day. Unfortunately, this cruel disease didn't turn back and the best we could do was to make sure he was in a safe, clean environment, well fed, comfortable, happy and treated with dignity and respect. From day one, the staff has been absolutely wonderful. They treat their residents with kindness, respect and dignity. We visited often and got to know other residents and their families. The level of care was always high caliber. Unfortunately, after 19 months at Maplewood, our loved one passed away. We were always comforted knowing he was safe and loved in his home at Maplewood. We are grateful every day for the love and care he received.

Maplewood at Stony Hill has been great and not just for Mom but for me as well. They are equally as caring for the seniors as they are supportive to the family. They give Mom a sense of independence yet they are there for her on every level. I so deeply thank them for giving Mom a safe place to live. ...

My family experienced an almost 3 year journey at Maplewood. I still remember the first day we walked into my dad's room and we were greeted by a caregiver that made us feel welcome and comfortable. We had been with another facility that ended up feeling like just that, a facility. Maplewood was beautiful, open and homelike. They work diligently to hire the quality staff that your loved one spends time with...people who genuinely care about and understand the challenges and needs of those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia/memory loss. That is what is most important. In addition, the culinary style of fresh ingredient meals that are cooked on site in an open kitchen setting provide residents with delicious natural daily nutrition. Exercise programs, Vigorous Minds ,outside entertainment, daily social times, individualized music selections, bus rides, etc. are some of the activities offered to residents. Maplewood gave my dad a chance to live his last 3 years with Alzheimer's disease with as much dignity as possible. Our family will be forever grateful.

The staff is very warm and caring towards the residents. Everyone is kind to family and informative. It seems that there are activities always for all to enjoy and to be involved in. From the time we called to check for availability up till the present we were all welcomed with open and caring arms. I’m unsure of what life would be like without this wonderful home for “Dad”. Thank you !!

My father lived at Maplewood following a hospitalization for a Stroke. He received physical and occupational therapy daily and began using a walker for increased mobility. He resided there for the Road to Home Program for approximately 8 weeks and returned home. Maplewood checks in with us often and should my father's care declines, we would return for another or long term stay.

My mother lived at Maplewood for over 2 years and had exceptional care. I’ve recommeded the facility to numerous family friends and members of our church as it’s one of the only places that could meet my mothers needs. She had advanced Alzheimers and required a hoyer lift closer to the end of her life. Hospice Care was brought in and kept her comfortable and kept my family informed every step of the way. I found my experience to me very positive.

I came to Maplewood after a bad fall and surgery. It’s a great place to rest, focus on getting stronger while getting physical therapy and learning to walk independently again. The food is fresh and home cooked each day and they have wonderful care. It’s never easy to make a change but I’m glad I found this place. I’ve recently recommended them to my friend and long time neighbor.

The Maplewood facility is well-maintained and offers excellent on-site options for dining, nursing care, activities, etc., and also many programs to engage in the local community. We assessed many similarly high-end facilities, but we are confident that we've made the right selection due to Maplewood's high attention to detail, private company culture, and personal attention of the staff from maintenance team, aides, nurses, social workers, administrators, and top management.

Both my parents are staying in Maple wood at Cuyahoga falls. Dad is in memory care and Mom is Skilled nursing. Thier staff is greatand caring. Thanks for the referral.

The food and helpers are excellent

The staff is wonderful. My Dad has been at Maplewood for 3 and 1/2 months, and every staff member there knows his name, and cater to his needs. I finally have him at a place where I am relatively worry free.

My wife was diagnosed with early Alzheimer's about 5 years ago. For the first 3 1/2 years of that period I was her caregiver and we lived together at home. The disease eventually accelerated and she became delusional to the point I couldn't leave her alone for 5 minutes for fear she would wander off or hurt herself. Her psychiatrist/neurologist, and his social worker. Finally convinced me to place her in a residential dementia community for her own good. The N.E. Ohio division of the Alzheimer's Association was very helpful in suggesting a number of places to consider. I visited a number of them spending at least several hours at each. In the end I decided on Maplewood of Twinsburg. To this day a year and a half later I am still convinced this is the best place for her. While sad I know now that I couldn't have possibly provided the care and safety for her at home as they do at Maplewood. The facility is state of the art, modern and clean. The management staff is absolutely the best of the numerous I interviewed. Likewise the activities staff has been terrific at keeping her engaged. There nursing staff is very attentive and on premise 24/7. The caregivers, ( a very hard job ) have been terrific. The maintenance and environmental director and his staff are on top of everything so the place always seems to run smoothly. The chefs are first rate. I eat lunch or dinner with her often there. Farm to table food, open kitchen design, table linens, stemware, etc. No one complains about the food. Finally the administration staff are friendly and courteous. I sincerely feel they all really like my wife and have her best interest at heart while she journeys through this very cruel disease. Her individual quarters are modern, as large as any I saw and attended to regularly. I'm there to visit 4-7 times per week so I've had plenty of opportunities to observe all this and therefore am confident in the consistency of what I've described. Maplewood of Twinsburg more than any other facility I'm aware of hosts a continuing series of short seminars open to the public for free. These deal with various topics relating to the disease. They are often times attended by family members of residents as well as the general public. The format of these is informal and very good. There is no pressure to do anything as they fully understand that most people wish and hope they never have to get to this point with their loved one but just want you to be informed as a caregiver of what to expect as the disease progresses and give tips on how to deal with it. I encourage you to call and attend if you are a caregiver for a family member now. Make an appointment to have a private discussion with the director and other key professional there to discuss your specific situation. The main number is: [removed]. If you've read this far I'd just like to say I'm genuinely sorry for what you are going through. Sadly modern medicine doesn't offer any current cure for your loved one's disease. It only gets worse over time. The speed at which this occurs is different and unpredictable for every affected individual. I wish you and your loved one the best.

My grandmother is our family patriarch, and she finally reached an age and condition where she could no longer live alone and independent. After much research, we settled on Maplewood. Her transition from independence to assisted care has gone surprisingly well with much kudos to the staff, chef and atmosphere at the Cuyahoga Falls building. Grandma has made new friends, still has some independence and feels treated like she's special - which she deserves. My family is both surprised and delighted with this outcome, and they appreciated the Maplewood overall experience as much as I do - and I do.

Beautiful facility that exceeds all expectations. The staff is professional and attentive. I observed thoughtfulness and kindness in both client and family interaction. The food is delicious and presented with care. The building is clean and comfortable. Safety seemed to be a top priority. Exceptional in all categories!

We really liked Maplewood. The tour was well thought out and executed. The facility was cozy and welcoming. The surrounding are lovely and wooded. The apartments are really nice and there is ALOT of common areas. Lot's going on, I can't imagine that anyone could ever be bored in thier room!

An excellent facility with a staff to match. 5-star rating all the way.
