My two sisters and I chose Lockwood for our father, mainly because of the caring staff. We visited several times and we always felt welcome. The facilities themselves were great, too. Small enough to be cozy, but large enough to offer plenty to do. Unfortunately, we were unable to convince our father that a move was in his best interest, so he has not moved to Lockwood. In the future, if he needs assisted living, Lockwood would be our hands-down choice.

I will say that since this is independent living, the care givers are private pay so it doesn't apply. The food is not great and neither are food choices. There is only 1 serving allowed per meal. Place is very clean and well kept. Front office staff friendliness and helpfullness is not greatest. It is a safe place to be. The tenants are good. For someone totally independent it would be good.

The food is really bad. Activities are scarce. They put rules in place after move-in, expecting people with mobility issues to hike their recyclables and pet waste way out back to a huge dumpster behind a gate. My mom could never walk that far much less with bulky items and then lift the lid on a dumpster that is taller than her. The extras like housekeeping and salon are way too expensive. Instead of decent food, they put money into electric car chargers in the parking lot. No one has an electric car.

The cleanliness of the community gets a 4 out of 5 for cleanliness but for my apartment that would get a 3 out of 5. I cannot comment on the activities because we did not participate. What we like the most about the community is the friendly staff and the friends we have made, and yes I would recommend it for those who are completely independent of minimal cleaning services.

They complain too much about laundry, going to do my own. And the cleaning is poor. Going to do my own and they lost things in the wash.

We cannot rate the meals or dining because our loved one has not bought any meals yet. For the activities our loved one isn't participating due to her inability to get out of the apartment on her own. Staff seems to be extremely caring but we haven't needed to use them for anything yet. Glad there is a hair salon on site.

Building is new and there have been many new building problems -- air conditioning not working in some areas, one elevator out of order for over a month, exterior doors not fitting and other issues. I am sure when they get everything settled things will improve -- we hope. Serving staff, maintenance and chef are great. Housekeeping staff are punctual, friendly and trying to please. They are having a difficult time staffing up so some services are not provided.

Facility is nice but building quality is less than expected, not all amenities as promised, questionable management (parent company). Area is safe and hopefully when they can find more help, the amenities will improve. We picked this community because of the, location, low income tax credit, brand new, and socialization.

As for staff, the med team had a couple of lazy girls and a few great ones. Office staff were all very attentive and friendly. However they were short handed and had lots of turnover. I'd say more of at "75 and up community." Only because most of the people there are elderly or incapacitated in one way or another. It is truly not a 55 and up community for the normal active 55 year old. Covid and employees shortages have ravaged all of these assisted living and rehab centers. I've seen that with my own eyes. We can only pray thinks will one day get back to normal and people will want to work and be productive in life again.

it's taking us a while to get our apartment settled, but so far we like what we've seen. It's quite pretty. My apartment is smaller than I thought, but overall I feel it meets my needs. The staff are very nice. They seem to offer a lot of activities. I would have liked if they had a swimming pool for seniors to exercise. But I like the food. The soup is very flavorful, and I enjoy the pudding. I feel like the chef makes an extra effort to make it nice for us.

We have had issues with the staff not being able to respond to the pull cords, and they still have to call 911 for medical assistance. The community is giving us a hard time to break the lease, even though they said it wouldn't be difficult to break the lease originally.

We chose Lockwood of Waterford because it was the closest to his house and it was a reasonable price. It was also a temporary 3 month stay and they could provide that for him. He did say that the food was cold when it was delivered and I think they could have increased their portion sizes. There are people who are more active than others, my dad is pretty active as far as conversation and the problem is that assisted living and independent were all bunched into one, so I think it would have helped to split them up especially during social events.

After living at Lockwood for 5 years it was time to move to a facility that offered a higher level of care. Activities are only for very active seniors and not the more aged group. We were disappointed that they held the entire deposit after giving notice and we were gone in one week. They had no consideration about the length of time she lived there even thought they raised the rent over 6% a year. Because I work in the industry I feel I can say that Lockwood's on site manager isn't professional and is untruthful about corporate business decisions. The regional manager didn't reach out to me to discuss my concerns. Their obvious goal is to gain young, active seniors at the risk of compromising older seniors. It's ALL about money!

All inclusive optional - Independent living - one building, Senior apt building - medical team, certified but not liscend. do have a lpn on site 4 hours a day. Access to nurse and dr. - pediatrist on site 24/7 to assist with any all medical. Two meals a day. Full kitchen, housekeeping, laundry, entertainment, activity bus for outings and shopping. In house activities. Different than assisted living - has a nurse stationed in the building at all times. one bedroom $2,056.00 two bedroom two person $pediatrist,256.00

I would suggest that "EVERY THING" be put in writing. The things that were told, were in fact not true at all. The Dining experience needs a lot of work. Meals are not always what is on the menu, the proportions are small and limited, the cost (if paying by the meal) is VERY high, compared to local restaurants. The women in charge says one thing and the follow up is terrible. The building is very well maintained and looks good most of the time, but there are limited staff to handle any thing outside of business hours (9-5) Monday through Friday. The activities are wonderful during the week, but are VERY limited on the weekends.

They need to make sure that this is a smoke free houseing. When I visit my mother, one of the halls always smells like smoke, then there is foul order in one of the halls.The cost is too high for what they get. Meals are not very good. not enough activies for them

I think they need to have more outside actives for the people that live here. Some of the halls smell, One hall smells like someone smoking. And its really strong. I think they need more chooses of food. Seems they have the same things alot and needs more seasoning for the meals.

They have no security, and things have been stolen from our loved one. No security, no help. The staff are friendly but not very qualified. The cost is good but the food is bad.

My mom is very capable of taking care of herself still, but she chose to sell her home and move because she wanted more socializing and community. Lockwood did not live up to promises. The food was so poor that very few people ate in the dining room so she wasn't having any socialization at meal time. The bus was broken and they never fixed it so no trips. After a sad year at Lockwood she moved to [community removed] where she has made many friends and enjoys continuous activities.
