Better than most but still is not worth the exorbitantly high cost. Few good kind staff they never stay very long though. Use agency very frequently never know who is walking in your apartment. Was there when a employee was escorted off campus drove off crazy in the parking lot that is what I want to happen when I visit my loved one. Staff yelling at each other in the hallways. Attitude for a simple request to empty over flowing trash cans. Staff sleeping or talking on their phones. Lord forbid your loved one requests to dine in their own apartment your charged extra even if your loved one isn't feeling well enough to attend dinner in the dinning room. Staff are horrendous about this restaurant style dinning is nice but not every day. Free independent life style that is promised in the borchor in reality is like boarding school. Every single time I visit strong stench of marijuana all through the assistant living building. Aids puffing on vapes in the hallways.

We were not impressed with the community, the rooms in the memory care unit was not very big, there are bathrooms in between two rooms, you had the option to take both bedrooms but with an upcharge or just take one bedroom and have to share a bathroom with another resident. There was not enough individual care for the residents.
I’m giving the GreenFields rehab unit an overall score of 2 which is a combination of a 5 for the heroic nurses/CNAs and less than a 0 for the administration. The administration was more concerned about the legal implications of my father being a fall risk rather than continuing his care. He did fall twice while under their care. He was hustled out of there to in-home Hospice more than 3 weeks before the surgeon recommended that he be released. No effort was made to review/ consider the expert’s opinion. Note that he was 89 & recovering from a fractured femur. Dad passed soon after discharge, while he still should been a patient. Furthermore, continued care was refused even when we requested to fully pay for his care outside of Medicare. The number of CNAs & nurses also needs to be doubled so that adequate care can be provided. This is what you get as a former doctor in the community. I can only imagine how it would have been for him if he was not.

My mom started in independent living for 3 years and that was great! Lots to do or not do, friends galore, one meal a day ( most folks it's around 4 pm) and a great apartment. The buy-in is steep and you need 3 times that to get on. You also need to be cleared by a dr. The independent living side is gove 5's for everything but value because if the steep buy in. My mom developed some dementia and fell in her apartment. She rehabbed in the rehab wing and it wasn't great. They don't seem motivated [Removed] folks back up and walking and many times you go in and people are begging you for an aid to change them! They also have folks passed out in their dinner and the nurses are mostly LPN's. It was not uncommon to see blister packs of meds on the floor next to the med carts. Also, the computers with patient information were often on in the hall for any passerby. After rehab they moved her to the memory wing - total one flew over the cuckoos nest! There was a guy in a chair with a puddle of urine under himself, another resident attaching another resident and staff seemed clueless, although nice enough. So independent living - high marks Rehab - low marks Memory center - lowest marks How they have managed to avoid an outbreak to date is beyond me! Each employee needs training on basic hand washing / glove use ASAP. They also need to be trained to protect residents!

Everything is fine here as long as you are healthy. The facilities are lovely and many people are friendly. But there is a big change when you can no longer live independently and are moved to Abbey’s Health Center. I am the adult child of two parents who died in Abbey Delray’s Health Center: 1. My mother had had surgery and was sent to the on-premises Health Center to recuperate, but she was placed in the Alzheimer's ward, where I found her sitting slumped over, ignored. There were a lot of people sitting slumped over and ignored at the Health Center. 2. After I had her room changed, my mother seemed to be improving, as long as she was getting physical therapy. But that stopped and she was left sitting in a wheelchair. A woman who was in the Health Center for a short recuperation whispered to me that the nurses there do as little as possible. I didn't believe her at the time... 3. Mom got repeated bladder infections, which I’ve been told happens from not being changed properly / enough. This was a chronic problem, and the infections eventually caused serious damage. 4. My father fell and was placed in the Health Center. He was lucky enough to get a nurse who was good, until she got injured. I visited and found him calling and calling to be helped to the bathroom. I asked for help, and a nurse appeared screaming at him. I reported her, and she was disciplined; the next time I visited, his diamond ring had disappeared. 5. From his frequent bladder infections and dehydration, my father was also repeatedly sent to the hospital where he caught the MRSA virus. My parents both died at Abbey’s Health Center, I believe sooner than they should have. While there are some wonderful people there, I give very low grades to Abbey’s Health Center for the above reasons.

Moving my Mom into this place was a big disappointment. We got a great deal but it was short lived. In our opinion, they were short staffed, inconsistent in staffing, not as well trained in memory care as we had thought, and overall, I'm not convinced it was safe for my mom. We are grateful she has gone on to a new place. Communication was not always clear here and promises were made that were not kept.

This review only allows me 1000 characters so I will be brief but unable to list all the issues that prevail at Abbey Delray during my Dad's 85 day stay there ultimately ending with his death 30 days after his discharge due to a NOMNC notice rudely given to us by a so called social worker who was rushed and didn't have time to give to the Family. 1) up to an hour and more delayed responses to call button requests 2) took two weeks to get proper wheel chair 3) removal of doctor from Dad's case after lack of proper care of Dad. 4) although contracted rehab team were basically doing a good job, Dad languished at the hands of abbey employees. 5) CNAs failed to assist Dad in going to the bathroom most of the time leaving Dad no choice but to go in his Diapers and then labeling him incontinent. 6) Administrators, directors and nurses giving lip service to the Family where the issues remained throughout Dad's entire stay. 7) Dad entered AD doing crosswords and left a man unable to stand

We had an awful experience with skilled nursing and AL. VOG was recommended to us, but it must have been for IL , because there is no way I would recommend AL or skilled nursing. The level of care in this facility is unacceptable. It is almost impossible to find any staff in the building at night. Staff has a generally negative attitude and does not show empathy or compassion towards the patients. Lots of "not my job." Often you see staff on their phones instead of caring for patients. If you push the call button for help, it typically was not responded to, it took us hunting someone down, or it was often over an hour before we would get help in the room. One day the staff did not even enter my parents room until 3:00 pm. The communication and coordination of services is horrible. If you are not looking out for your family member they will be left unfed and unclean. My parents and 5 other residents have moved out over the last 2 weeks. All stated unacceptable level of care.

Everyone was friendly, except the nurse in charge of memory/assisted living. She had a very nasty attitude, was not helpful, and should not be taking care of older people. The food was excellent. Overall, my friend was evicted by this nurse and had early stages of dementia.

MY MOTHER'S DEATH AT FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE: I didn’t even know it was goodbye when we shared our last exchange behind a closed window, outside by the dumpsters at Friendship Village. You were on lockdown for 9 months. You sat crouched in your chair with that bedsore annoying you, A skeleton draped in a sheet of flesh. I smiled through the glass and chatted up a bunch of fake happy lies while kissing and drawing hearts on the window. Your big green eyes gazed helplessly at me. Too weak to hold the phone, a nurse opened the window, our spirits touched. In minutes, 2 nurses rushed and closed the window. Like a grief stricken kid I banged on that window. Masked women rushed at me outside in fury of covid rules: “No visiting on weekends" "Not without a test every 3 days.” A 'Comfort', 'Compassion' or End of Life visit?" THEY COULDN'T DECIDE! While my mother lay dying while her daughters were outside crying. Heartless nurses couldn’t empathize with my tears or hear the pain in my screams.

My dad was in for wound care His wound vac was continually off and no charge at all which meant it was off for a long time I contacted the staff several times with no resolution. He had a roommate who took 3/4 of the room I inquired several times to sharing the room I was told “[name removed]” is here “from the top “ He doesn’t adjust. I took my dad to the doc and his wound was “wet” the vac had no charge. Doc was furious Soon after my did return to hospital with infection. With each inquiry I was told “ we are short staffed “ Very sad

The community told me that that there were other residents around my age, and that isn't the fact. Due to the virus, we are on lock down and no one can visit me. In the contract it does say that I can have a visitor overnight and now they won't let that happen They only showed me the Villa on the tour. I ended up having to mop the floor 20 times before it would take all the dirty off the floor. Since I choose the villa that includes one and a half hours of cleaning each week. They have a cleaning lady who comes in and I still have to mop the floor and after she is there I have to still mop the floor every other day. She doesn't even clean the shower. I've let management know and they didn't do anything about it. I have been infested with ants. They sprayed, and they sprayed in the bathroom. The ants have been crawling up the wall and in the bed. I called management three times. I finally called the maintenance man who had the exterminator to come in and spray for ants. I was trying to get my mail and fell and broke my back. The security wasn't nice to me. I had to call for 911 due to the pain. They do have covered parking and it is extra cost. They have a dining room that we were able to go to prior to the virus and had really great food. They even allow guests to come to dinner as long as you pay extra.

They charge for every little thing including wipes, yet they are usually understaffed most of the time. The staff are not motivated and there is usually a high turnover of staff through out the place. Dressing supplies among other things are usually in short supply and woe unto you if you get new treatment orders. Not the best place i think the management is keeping most of what the residents pay for supposedly 'great care'. The rehab is also double room and very tiny rooms for that matter.

My father was in this facility recovering from a stroke. The CNA's and social worker were wonderful. That is the only nice thing I can say about this facility. It was dirty, smelled, and was run down. The nursing staff was horrible! Very unfriendly and no one followed through on anything. He was supposedly seen by a Dr. daily but this Dr. was never seen. Medications were not given as needed. My father was never given a shower unless we BEGGED for him to be given one. He was left on his own to feed himself even though he had paralysis and feeding was difficult. Therapy staff never followed through on requests, equipment was never ordered or was lost. Do not send your loved one to this facility.

As a relative of long-time residents, I can tell you VOTG and parent company LifeSpace were horrible in dealing with their final years. When one of them needed full time care, she was put on a waiting list...for months! During that waiting time, she had a major fall, breaking her Femur, and fractured vertebrae and required a hip replacement. Her fall and long-term injury would have been prevented if she had gotten Hospital care when requested. She never fully recovered, and they denied she even fell! There were missed medications by VOTG, high turnover, and some caregivers spent hours at a time on their home phone making toll calls to friends instead of doing their job. They even disputed our trustee POA for health care disclosures and decisions. Then VOTG left our unit empty and unpresentable for 2 years before cleaning and renovating it for sale. To this day VOTG has not returned one penny of the equity membership fee my relatives paid in 1994. This is well over 2 YEARS since their condo was surrendered. Don't let this happen to you! Your estate and loved ones may be in limbo and the courts for years after your passing and VOTG will drag it out as long as they can.

After an expensive buy-in and apartment upgrade expenses, my parents were kicked out of Abbey Delray when their resources dwindled. They were misled when they were recruited, when they signed the paper work, and about what the policies were. Abbey Delray worked very hard to recruit them with lots of promises of "continuing care" and made specific promises they had no intention of keeping. They way they recruited my parents and guided them through the signing up process should be considered elder abuse. BUYER BEWARE!

This retirement facility has been the worse experience. #Neglect, unresponsive and understaffed#...The staff is not responsive when in need. Was given a instant ice pack that was used after 3 days of asking for one, when the vitals were taken by the nurses aid it was wrapped around my elbow so the vitals showed being very low. The food is horrendous, cold and unappealing. Ask for a raised toilet seat, didn't receive it until 2 days later. Didn't receive pain medication after 12 hours of being admitted. There was a man screaming "HELP for at least 20 minutes but no response. I went out my door to see what the problem was and the cleaning lady said "there is no one here to HELP so there was nothing she can do". Do NOT go to this place of DOOM it will mentally make you feel very ill, you will not recover because of it.
