My loved one was previously a resident at The Residence at Cherry Hill. I'm not sure if I would recommend this facility to others, based on our experience. My loved one was left unattended often in the dining area and fell multiple times. We never received a call or email expressing condolences from management.

I liked the staff, the place was nice. High turn over in upper management and bait and switch tactics turned me off. I picked it because the up front rate was reasonable. Then a few months in they upped it $2k.

The Residence at Brookside is a lovely facility, and the employees were all very nice. However, they were clearly understaffed and had a lot of turnover, which does not inspire a lot of faith. Additionally, I don't think the care was all that great - my brother's meds were messed up a couple of times, and communication was not good - among staff, between staff and my brother's medical team, and between staff and our family. I was honestly pretty disappointed in the quality of care for the price.

The place is just ok...needs strong leadership. Feels the mbs have taken too much control...with the budget, but not with operations. The recruiter oversells the place, especially in the area of food.. A nice community with room for improvement. It has good potential...just do a good diligence exploration to be sure it's the right place for you

Within a week of moving my loved one into The Residence at Five Corners there was a major change to upper management and office staff, even the head nurse was on the verge of leaving. [Name removed], the nurse in charge, is terrific. If she had gone we might have reconsidered the move. We also find it to be very expensive if the resident needs extra help. Right now our loved one is not happy about being there and seems to be a bit depressed. Her speech is not good and she has difficulty communicating with the other residents, which is not helping. We were hoping that the staff would help to try to get her more involved with the community and activities. It's a very nice facility, but all the changes at the top must signal something. We'll see going forward.

My family and loved one have had an average experience here. The staff that interact with the residents are great. The concern we have is with the back office staff, they have been dishonest and don't follow the proper protocols when increasing the rent prices. There are meals and activities to assist with the socialization for the residents.

My loved one is currently a resident at Suffield by the River. It's a nice facility, but we were misled upfront about the level of care needed. I would recommend getting your loved one's Initial Care Plan Assessment in writing, in the case that you receive unexpected charges.

We were not advised of all the extra costs of other services at the beginning of the initial talks. The building is clean and the staff works hard. The staff are quite friendly , actually friendlier than some people in the front office. The care is so so. The nurses are not allowed to do too much. No registered nurse on all night. The dining staff is one of the strongest areas of the entire building. The guys are great, the food is ok, but right now they are under staffed.

My late husband was a resident at The Lighthouse. In his short stay he caught scabies from another patient and not long after he was unceremoniously thrown out for being combative. He had late stage dementia and combative episodes are common. To have a so called "associate" discuss him in a common area was very unprofessional.

Pros) it's not a lock down place. It's like she has her apt and she can come and go and people can visit. Food is great. Always company available. Hair salon on site. Encouraging socialization. Cons) I was under the impression that some basic med needs would be handled but I guess not. She has to take eye drops for an upcoming surgery and her friends told me the facility is unable to assist. I assumed she would at least be able to get a quick reminder for the few days she has to do the drops every 4 hours. I can somewhat understand not being able to administer the drops for her but reminders after surgery shouldn't be a problem. She also has the sleep apnea machine. I can again kind of understand you not being able to put it on. But I don't understand why she can't have a little more help with the reminder to wear it. Like a quick knock on her door after her evening meds. Maybe when she gets her meds write a note and place it on her bed so she sees it. Just something. Her neurologist said it's vital to keeping her memory issues from progressing so I wish there was something more that could be done. I know you can't force her and babysit her. I understand everyone is busy. But I feel like something could be done She is there for her memory and those 2 things are pretty important for her medical care so I was confused and disappointed when her friends explained she was unable to receive assistance for those 2 things. Another pro is it looks like a home, looks welcoming, from the outside and inside. Overall she seems very happy and the place seems great. I guess my expectations of medication management assistance were off. So I would have wanted to know in detail exactly what the medication management assistance covers and will not cover

I would encourage potential residents to ask many questions at the initial viewing and discussion of the support system. I would also encourage potential residents to have a few meals and to get a sense of what it's like to dine at the facility. I would also encourage potential residents to speak with current residents to get a sense of the community. I would say that my loved one is someone who is a loner, so he may not be a typical resident. At the same time, we expected a bit more support on a regular basis. Sometimes we need to follow up on our own when there is a change in cleaning schedule, for example, or a request for a bit more attention for him on days when he needs additional support. It is not always clear that our requests or communicated to the appropriate staff.

My suggestions for improvement: Provide more welcoming experiences for new residents. Add more activities for all residents that would provide more ways to get to know each other and to strengthen the community bond.

Our family had an in person tour with Mercer Hill and we found the person who gave us the tour was very nice, but just not as welcoming. We got the impression that it was not going to work out from the very beginning. Also the facility itself was just not as pleasant of an environment.

I would recommend you ask lots of questions about the care your loved one needs. They weren't able to accommodate all the care my loved one needed while here. There were three meals a day severed and there were choices to choose from for the residents. The activities were very quiet and subdued. There was no music playing during activities, and it would be nice to see more lively interaction with the residents.

I was not thrilled with The Residence at Summer Street. When we walked in it kind of smelled like a hospital and just felt very institutional.

I felt they oversold some things that were going to be available - for instance, they said you can regulate the heat/AC in each resident's room. While each person does have their own thermostat, apparently the state regulates when they flip to heat vs. AC, which causes some extremes during the season changes. The ambassador she was promised did get in touch with her, but there wasn't much help in the beginning. I also found a cockroach in the bathroom, and they said they would spray for it, but that was upsetting. They've been doing great with her medication management though, and she's looking better. The staff has been friendly, and they seem to address any concerns we have. Overall they've done a pretty good job.

The community is extremely friendly and welcoming. They have wonderful arts and crafts and activities that include everyone, there's something to do constantly. The facility is beautiful and kept very clean and the grounds are manicured. I have moms laundry done. They aren't careful with how they do her wash. Many things come back ruined or shrunk. Care services aren't up to par. I have requested call backs and asked questions with no reply for days. I usually have to ask front desk for help! Overall it's a decent facility.

My loved one was there a short period of time. They need to be a lot more clear upfront, on what they can and cannot do, as it relates to the level of care that is needed for your loved one. They need to do a better job of explaining things. Overall, it was not a great experience, until hospice stepped in to help my loved one. The staff was better after hospice arrived.

My loved one was not at this community for a long time. I would recommend, as long as it is for asstisted living only, opposed to long term care or a nursing home.

They offer acctivities, but I have not partcipated in any yet. The staff is very welcoming. If your loved one needs independent living, then this would not be a good match for them. It is moreso designed, for those who need assisted living.
