Terrible Staff

All of the residents are very rude and the staff is inconsiderate. There is constantly an issue here at the Longmont location. It’s a very loud location with a busy highway and construction. I personally would not recommend my family to stay here as they don’t care for the community and the environment does not seem friendly.

Financial Exploitation of it's residents

I moved to Balfour [date removed] due to illness. I was there for 2 years. During that time, I paid all bills and was never late. I moved out in [date removed] because of their abysmal plumbing and constant flooding, and no hot water for 11 days. 3.5 months after moving out I received an email from Balfour that they could not find me even though they had all the contact information since they contacted me. They sent me a bill for $[removed]k to repaint a 2 bedroom apartment which was in pristine shape. We took exit video showing this. When I questioned them they gave no explanation. According to Colorado state law after a tenant has lived in a rented space for over 2 years the landlord is NOT allowed to charge for anything other than extreme destruction and repair which in this case was not true. They would not provide documentation and kept sending me bills. I do not have a family at this stage in my life to rely on and they tried to rob me. After getting an attorney they chose to drop it.

Profit over people

Avoid KISCO and Park Terrace at all costs! The director, (who is still there) raised my mother's care level price and moved her up to the next care level EVEN THOUGH HER CARE NEEDS DID NOT CHANGE. He rudely and stubbornly would not bend. I filed a complaint with the County and they asked my permission to escalate the complaint to the State Office in Sacramento. I said yes. Both of my complaints were SUSTAINED. I moved Mom somewhere else. The Orange County attorney for Senior Social Services called me and thanked me personally for all of my efforts which exposed and protected vulnerable seniors at Park Terrace who were being financially taken advantage of.

Memory care review

am writing a review of the memory care at Crestavilla- I had a family member under their care for the last few years and they do not have the staffing or expertise to take care of patients if they have moderate or progressive dementia. They admit they don't have the staff and will ask you to pay for additional nursing care. They accepted him into the residence but then when he got worse they kicked him out. First they will increase your fees astronomically to get you to move and if that doesn't work they will evict you. After being evicted since he required too much care, I moved my family member to another facility but it has been a traumatic transition. I recommend to avoid Crestavilla Memory care for family members that have progressive dementia.

Do Not Recommend

Dad in Assisted Living with dementia flooded his apartment and two below it. It was not properly cleaned up and staff left him in an apartment that was mildewing around him for two weeks until I visited, complained, and filed a report with Social Services. At that point they moved him to their "respite room" without his cane or cat. Dad fell without his cane, cat was left in mildewing room with industrial dryers and cat was traumatized. Director was utterly unhelpful. Dad had also developed incontinence issues and I, his POA, had not been informed. Found out by tripping over soiled underwear in his room. They do his laundry & should have noticed. Don't judge a book by its cover

First of all, the facility is beautiful and seems to be one of the nicest communities around this area. The advertise that they a a cruise ship on land experience, but don't let this fool you it is not all what it seems. They want to want to maximum their services to make more money for services that may not needed the by resident. When my mom arrived she was recovering from surgery and on the to road recovery. However, rather then moving her forward they held her back so that she would need more services therefore increasing their revenue. This approach ensured that she did not progress. Whenever I had financial questions they never responded unless they didn't receive payment, then I got their attention.

Bait and Switch Pricing

On the upside: Nice residents, beautiful building, beautiful courtyard, nice staff. On the downside: A bait and switch approach to pricing. My mom moved to assisted living several years ago, thinking she would be safe and cared for. It was expensive, but she had saved for it. However, within two years, even the basic services were cut, while the prices DOUBLED!!! She has to count every item of clothing and put it on a list in order to have the laundry done. The consequence is that they do almost no laundry for her. The brunch that we heard so much about was cut to every other week. Bathrooms are not renovated to be handicap accessible unless you pay for it. Twice we pushed her button for help and NO ONE CAME FOR 45 MINUTES. Residents who need help with socks or other minor things, end up just doing it themselves, because no one shows up for 30-40 minutes. But the worst part is that the cost for care is absolutely unpredictable and every little thing adds to a points system that even the managers have trouble explaining without a computer. My mom feels like she can't breathe differently without being charged for it. This was not what we were sold. Imagine planning for your future and having the costs double! It has put her in a state of anxiety and we are thinking of moving her again. Not what you want for your aging parent.

Horrible service

Assisted living was the worst at my.mothers end of life. At a time you would expect exemplary service she got very poor care insisting she get her own food off of her bkfst table even when she couldn't walk. I would never recommend assisted to anyone considering magnolia glen and am shocked by the lack.of concern for the residents. Magnolia should be ashamed of themselves epecially from.the amt of money she spent

Dont bother

Worst service ever for people at the end of their life. When they want the care they don't get it. Left alone in a room by themselves with no compassion. Very short staffed and can't possibly give all those residents the care they so desperately need. Why bother having your loved ones health go downhill. Think twice before putting them here!

Terrible for end of life

Once people become more ill and require more care, Magnolia Glen pushes people to move out. They are not interested in helping with compassionate and loving end of life. They want active people who require little help or support. Even thought they were "assisted living" we had to pay for our own private help since there was not enough MG staff to help all the residents. If you have a family member looking for a place to stay until their death, look elsewhere unless you want them to be pushed out to a new place at the most vulnerable time of their life.

Steer Clear of Balfour

We were very happy with Balfour when my parents moved into Independent Living over 3 years ago. Then the changes came, a percentage was sold to a Corporation. Staff that had been with Balfour from the beginning left. The food has completely gone down hill with few items being made from scratch. And worst of all, an unwilling and unqualified management not responding to complaints. I would steer clear of Balfour.

However, probably do to the state of the ecomony, the are now accepting residents with Alzheimer's and those that need around the clock care. The quality of the overall care as well as the staff has diminished significantly. Atria Woodbridge now resembles a convalescent care home instead of an independent living facility. There is a high level of turnover in staff, and this includes leadership roles. Caregiver staff includes waiters and kitchen staff that is not trained for cafe giving. There is minimal offering of activities as there activit director is not engaged with residents and most activities have a childish, birthday party feel. These are adults not two year olds. Services offered have also decreased. Due to the increasing number of residents that require focused and routine attention, the independent residents are now experiencing less than quality services, longer response times. Quality of dinning area experience and food also is more like a cafateria with little options and lack of creativity. The fact that Atria Woodbridge leadership is disengaged with its residents shows that this facility, which could be the flagship of its So Cal locations is quickly becoming nothing more than convalescent facility. My mother has moved to a location that is a little further for our family, but she is extremely pleased and the leadership is engaged with both residents and their families.

Not a caring place!

The care I received was so bad that I moved to a new facility. Call lights were not answered, the aides turn the lights off quickly, they know they are monitored, and then don’t return to help you. The nurses station phones all go to voicemail so you can’t call for help. It’s not a very caring place.

Ask Questions!

No alarms on doors in the Alzheimers Unit. This is a serious problem, given the lax monitoring in the halls at night. Or overworked, very young aides. Let's give them that. But a very serious attack happened in the evening (not late) hours, resulting in our mother being thrown out, bag and baggage at 10 pm. We had to scramble to find a bed for her THAT NIGHT. She was there for her own and others' protection, which didn't happen. Door alarms, people. And someone monitoring the hall at all times.

Poor care in assisted living

I felt Magnolia Glen Assisted living for my mother was nothing in compared to what we were told. She slowly went downhill upon entering and the care was minimal especially at that time of her life depending upon others to assist her. They were short staffed and had only 1 CNA per every 12 residents so your loved one will not get the care they deserve and if your not able to get them to go to the dining room they will insist or start charging them for not making the effort. In my estimation your much better getting private care in independent living but don't bother with assisted and for the extra money your paying save your wallet!
