My mother lived at Balfour Retirement Community for the past 7 years and this is the best assisted living community in Colorado. The staff care about all the residents and treat them with the utmost respect and dignity. The management team is ultimately hands on when it comes to caring for the residents. Family members are treated great and Balfour Retirement Community is worth what they charge. The amenities are beautiful.

Wonderful Senior Living Community. I have had 2 family members living at Balfour Retirement Community and they both received excellent care. The Executive Director and his team are the most caring, compassionate and kind hearted individuals. I would highly recommend this skilled nursing and assisted living community for your loved one.

Balfour Cherrywood Village has let my mom get back a high quality of life, and she loves it there. She gets treated with respect, and the staff all work to make sure every resident there is individually cared for according to their unique needs and preferences. They've got tons of activities to participate in if my mom feels up for it, from games to keep her actively thinking and exercising to weekly painting classes and frequent live music performances. She's made lots of friends with both residents and staff members. It's been an invaluable community for me and my mom to be a part of while she has Alzheimer's. She's safe, well cared for, and she's a lot happier than I remember her being for many years before she moved there. She's not scared or stressed out anymore, and she can structure her day as she likes and enjoy life. The staff are all well trained. There's a wide range of residents there, from the beginnings of memory trouble through residents that need lots of help, so she will be able to stay there with a room she knows and staff that know her hopefully for a long time yet to come. I visited a lot of different memory care units between Boulder and Denver, and BCWV wasn't the cheapest, but it was the place where I thought she would fit the best and live her best life. She's grateful to be there, and tells me so often.

My mom loves it here. She really hated the idea of having to move to memory care after it became clear she could not live on her own, but, now that's she's settled in, she loves it at Balfour Cherrywood Village. She tells me about how much she enjoys the activities, exercise, painting class, and especially how delicious the food is. She's somewhere where she and I both feel she is safe and well cared for, and that peace of mind is invaluable. The staff at Balfour are awesome and helpful and they really help you feel like it's a big community working together to maintain a good quality of life for people who need help. Balfour lets me mom be as independent as she wants, and they try to cater to each individual's tastes and preferences. The staff usually know my mom by name, and my mom doesn't have any complaints beyond constantly misplacing her TV remote.

We recently admitted my mom to Balfour Cherrywood Village after her dementia made it impossible for her to continue to live safely by herself. Everyone at Balfour, and especially [name removed], went above and beyond to get my mom placed and comfortable. [Name removed] has been such a support for us as we're navigating this new world. I sat in with my mom yesterday for trivia and when I suggested we leave early to go out to lunch, she refused! Mom enjoys the activities and although she isn't sure why she is there, my family and I are confident and comfortable that she is in the right place and is being well cared for.

Impressive community...It was my first visit seeking care for my parents. [Name removed] was quite helpful and informative.

I got a feeling of warmth from the moment I walked into Park Plaza. The receptionist told me how long she had been there (13 years) and how much she likes working there and being with the residents. Everyone who passed by said hello to me. When I met [name removed], my "contact," she was immediately friendly and warm. During our tour, she introduced me to every resident we passed, and made some conversation with them. I had lunch there (I hadn't planned on it, but decided to accept the invitation). The food was very good; many choices and healthfully prepared (not too much oil, butter, etc.). The servers were friendly and accommodating. People seemed to have their "groups" to sit with--no one was alone. I did observe one activity, a balloon bouncing exercise group. The outdoor courtyard is very inviting with its large shade tree and tables and chairs in various places. There is a small pool for those who might want to use it. The rooms and common areas are in the process of being renovated (new carpeting, countertops), which they need because they looked worn. Everything looked clean, though. I liked the smallish, cozy "living room" and library, and there are other small areas where residents could sit if they chose not to be in their rooms. The whole place gave off a very homey, warm feel. I could definitely see my father here when he's ready to move.

This may be the best so far. Visited 3/10/18 and host was [name removed]. Excellent tour and very friendly place. Had to laugh as almost all the lady residents had new hairdos for the weekend and were dolled up with smiles on faces. I liked the grounds and safe courtyard for both independent and assisted clients. Lunch or dinner at noon depending where you are from (we have supper in Indiana) Residents were out and about and everyone knew everyone. Rooms were well laid out and the one bedroom had really nice closets. The one downside for me is the main heating unit is in the living area and is diverted thru wall to bedroom. Activity areas were being remodeled but are large and will be nicely furnished. Church is available for all. Outings and bus service to shop and doctors appts covers large area. This was Best of State four years running and I can feel and see why. Rates are in line with other nice facilities and maybe less.

My parents, both in their 80s and with Alzheimer’s/dementia, are residents of Balfour Cherrywood Village. They have lived there very happily for over one year. There room is bright and spacious and always neat and clean. The staff is outstanding. From the front desk to the activity leaders to the care team my parents are treated with respect and kindness. They love their home and their Balfour Cherrywood Village community.

The staff were so pleasant, patient and accommodating. She had a 1 bedroom apartment with a small patio.The food is extremely good and she could also go to the independant side and eat whenever she wanted. They offered lots of daily activities. Lots of music going on. Mom just passed away and when I'm getting her things they would tell me how much they loved my mom and misses her their personal atmosphere was comforting. I would recommend this community to other families.

This facility has been wonderful so far. It’s refreshing to see staff members who genuinely care about the residents. I really like that you actually see the administration out and about interacting with residents too. The facility itself is very clean and it feels comfortable. They do offer activities like physical therapy, a pool to swim in, a library, and exercise classes. The food here is not totally home cooked but it seems just fine to me. I would recommend the community to other families.

The environment at Ilima at Leihano is nice and peaceful. It's a new community, and they keep it very clean. The personnel are all very friendly and helpful, and I feel the amenities are nice. They have a lot of group activities, excursions, and lectures among other things. The food is also very good. I would recommend this community to others.

My Mom lives here and she really likes her apartment and some of the services they provide. The staff has been very nice with her and me. If I have an issue or there’s a problem, they’ve been able to address it quickly. They’re really keeping on top of things. Mom said the food is okay, some things are better than others. They have a different menu every month with 4 different choices, but if you don’t want any of those then they have other options to choose from. They offer painting classes, bingo, and even entertainers will come by to play music for the residents. There are also different holiday events available and poker. They really have a lot going on. Overall, it’s been a nice place for her to be, I just wish the cost was a little less.

They take care of my mom 24 hours a day and they make sure they bathe her. She eats good food. The staff is friendly and helpful. She is being engaged with daily activities to join in on. It is a very clean building it is only like 2 years old. I would recommend this community.

Everything is going really well at this location. There is nothing that I do not like about the facility. It is very clean, very updated, the staff is attentive and friendly, the activities were plentiful and well organized, the chef is superb and the food is great. The reasons why I went forward for my love one to be here are the amenities provided, the suitable service given, and the overall personality of the staff and residents.

We toured this community and it was OK. My wife's mom stayed here and we wanted to see what it was like years later. And we are really independent and there were just to many people in wheelchairs and using walkers. We just aren't there yet. I didn't like that they had fixed times for the meals. It is a big community. The staff answered all our question. It just wasn't a good fit.

I was really impressed with the feel of the center - very open and warmly inviting. They had a lot of options and felt like they listen to our needs and showed us the best fit. There are alot of things there to keep their residents happy. Looking forward to taking my mom there for a visit as well.

The woman who gave us the tour was great and she was really good. I hated telling her that my mom chose a different community. We saw an older community and it showed it had a lot of age. It has a nice atmosphere but it also was smaller with not much to offer. The layout of the community was not spread out as much.

We like the care that was offered for the time we were in this community. The staff were friendly and tried to do everything that they could. They community was clean and maintained. The menu was appealing and they did enjoy participating in the activities and the trips away from the community. This location was close to home. We would recommend this community for the great care and value that is received.
