Staff was very friendly and very caring for the residents. Will work out transportation for dads dialysis three times a week.

We did take a tour and liked it. There are nurses on each floor. Dad will decide if he wants to see the place himself. I would recommend it.

The cleanliness is better than average, I'd say there's room for improvement as far as her room is concerned. They clean once a week, with her dementia she's more careless than she used to ever be so it may just be that she's being careless with dropping things on the floor; so I can't really blame them, I just think they could clean a little more often. I'm a little concerned about the care because she was approved for assisted living at the summit and they say they're checking on her every 2 hours but I'm kinda concerned because I don't know if they're just glancing in her room or really checking on her. The other night there was an incident, she had had a bad dream and she told me about it. She had called my brother about 6 times in the night and she was just talking gibberish and he called the main number and had to leave a message for the nurse and she didn't call him back until later the next day. I feel like if they do check on her every 2 hours, and this went on for several hours, they would have seen her up and about. I haven't talked to the director of nursing yet and I intend to, to be fair, they could be checking on her and I can't really trust what my mother says

Bentley Commons is beautiful. I rate it A+ for cleanliness, friendliness of all staff including the ones we met in the hall. Dining area is very clean and choice of meals is excellent. The one and two bedroom apts that we viewed were huge as well as the companion apt. The studio was a bit on the small side. The grounds are beatiful,they have great daily scheduled activities along with postings thruout the halls.

Ideal location. Concerns are: proximity to quality healthcare. Universities and major cities are some distance away.

Looks like a beautiful place, but an hour and a half drive is a little too far away from us.

Appreciate the lovely, big room and her view. I wish the food was better and the activities more geared to adults rather than treating them like children. The staff is on top of monitoring health. Some aides are lovely, caring and treat her with respect and dignity. Others are a bit rough. I don't like but understand why they push to keep people in wheelchairs to avoid falls but it has contributed to her going downhill more quickly. All these places have staffing issues but I appreciate I never have to worry about safety and cleanliness. They are definitely above average.

We toured with All American at Kingston and had a very nice experience. The staff were great and followed up with us promptly after the tour. For us, it just felt older and more institutional. We wanted something that would feel more like an apartment building.

This community was very nice but it was on the smaller side. This community was expensive. I wrote the cost and the service that was provided and I ranked all of the communities that I was interested in. It just is personally not my way to go. I had to find a middle ground to make the best living situation for my loved one.

This was a good community, just not the right fit for my loved one.

As a really big positive the staff members have been very friendly, but as a negative every time we come to visit the same food items are on their menus the the meals get pretty repetitive for the residents.

This looked like a nice clean community when I visited. The people I met were nice. This community reminded me more of a nursing home and we were looking for a more active community.

It has been a learning, and as well as an adjustment process for my father in law, since his move to this community. It is a nice place, but we have had a few bumps in the road. I would had liked a better understanding of their polices, rules at the community, before the move in. Also some selling points I wish were researched more, before offering them to us. Overall he is safe, and in good place. There are plenty of activities available. The staff is great, they are helpful and kind. It is a very active community, and I would recommend it.

I believe this community did not have the proper amount of staffing to properly care for my husband. I was advised that I would need to have his private caregivers there to assist him in the morning and at meal times. The staff was nice and the community looked clean.

Mother's first day there was met with many people greeting her, each having a task to help her get acquainted with the workings of Bentley. There was a person to bring her to lunch and dinner, another person to show her where to pick up her mail, a person assigned to bring her to activities, etc. People at Bentley, workers and residents, have all been very helpful in making her feel comfortable.

House cleaning could be better and it's very expensive. I saw first hand how things were run and so did my brother. We would not recommend them.

The staff that interacts with the residents on a day to day are friendly, upbeat, helpful. Administration seems less accessible and understanding. I would recommend them, but you need to actively advocate for your loved one and not just let them run rough shod on their rights.

Give full attention to the roommate aspect of the living arrangement. Unfortunately, that did not work out in my cousin's case and I ended up having to pay for 2 units which offset greatly the economic value.

We knew it was assisted living but thought there would be more oversight concerning Mom's health, like simple observation from staff helping her dress or bathe, or housekeeping. We had to ask them to evaluate her when we observed various things. Getting a UTI test took days, there was no guarantee of seeing a doctor once a week. Mom ended up with a severe UTI that landed in the hospital with serious mental decline. She went to another place for rehab. BC just was not a good fit for her needs. Using the facility's doctor was a bureaucratic nightmare. We had to push for a urine test with the nursing staff. Then we had to wait for the doctor who was in Richmond to say, yes, do a urine test. Then getting the test was hit or miss. Finally after getting it, it had to be sent to a lab somewhere so it may not be picked up that day. And then wait for the results to be returned to the BC staff, then for the staff to read it and act on the orders from the doctor.
