My mom really love this place except the food options. They need to have more fresh foods and more vegetarian options. The staff is kind and attentive. They are truly concerned about the residents welfare.The building is clean and together. The other residents are so kind to mom. They have a very great walking area that is smooth for walkers and well maintained with lots of trees. I would highly recommend this community.

I went on a tour here and it was nice and seemed clean. The staff was nice and helpful and answered all of my questions. I liked the apartments here they were nice. The dining room was right near the front which I thought was just awkward. It was independant living and mom needs a little help.

I think this place is a very good home. My friend lives here and I love the staff, they’re all very nice and help him when and where they can. The food is very good and very well balanced. The dining area is restaurant style where there’s a wait staff that will bring your food to you. There are 2 different entrees to choose from. The facility is so clean; I think it’s the cleanest place I’ve visited and it never smells of anything other than fresh air. I really have nothing but nice things to say about this place.

While we were trying to look at various options for my loved one, A Place for Mom has been a great help. This place seemed to be the best fit for my loved one and our family because of the convenience of the location. The staff team is very attentive, they meet their needs, they check up on her regularly, they listen to us, and I believe my loved one is doing much better after she moved in. She has been adjusting well and doing better physically and emotionally. I appreciate all the assistance from the staff from administering her medications, taking on her emotional and physical heath, helping her being social by getting her out of her room, and overall it’s very positive.

This newly remodeled huge senior community is beautiful. It is not within our budget and it is not ideally located for our needs but I would highly recommend you take a look. It reminds me of a 5-star hotel with restaurant-style dining where you order off a menu. There are lots of planned gathering areas for easy socializing and community building and many activities. It is modern and big. You will get lot's of exercise just walking from place to place. This community provides many options for different levels of care and different needs and wants.

This is a brand new community and is really nice. My parents are a part of the beginnings of this place and they love it. Any new place will have glitches to work out and they are on top of things. They have a resident's meeting to get everyone's input. The communication was really good before they moved in and after as well. They have restaurant style dining and is good. My dad will do some walking and then they watch movies at night in the theater. The exercise facility is about to open that they will take advantage of. They enjoy the shuttle on Mondays they will grocery shopping and other days will take them to the doctors which was another reason they chose to live here is because their doctors and hospital is right next door. There were some construction errors from the previous builders and they were right on top of things to get those fixed. I would recommend this community.

Brookdale is as nice a place as any I've seen. The staff here is helpful, and they keep me updated on my father's care, the food is good, and they're willing to accommodate different dietary needs for the residents and visitors, they have a lot of different activities, and the community is kept very clean.

I ended up picking this facility because of the atmosphere. Everyone here is really happy and the staff members are outstanding. The facility actually let us has lunch here when we toured and the food is really good. The other reason is that you get a great quality of care for the price. All of the staff members have a really high community involvement and gets all of the residents engaged in activities. They have things like bingo, karaoke, painting, arts/crafts, and a full calendar of things to do. I would recommend this community.

The staff here are very nice and helpful. They have daily activities that we are going to start enjoying. The food is pretty good. They keep it clean and kept up. I will recommend this community.

My mom is living here and as far as I know, she’s happy. When I was originally looking to move her in, I worked with the marketing guy and he was very knowledgeable about the facility. Everything is newer, it’s not so big that she can’t get around, and it’s in town and closer to my sister, so there’s been a lot of good that’s come from her being here. Not to mention the fact that the price was really reasonable compared to other places that I had looked. The food seems to be good and Mom enjoys it but said that you have to usually get there early so nothing runs out. They have a wide variety of food at every meal but there are certain things that everybody likes that they may run out of. There are tons of activities available. She’s been able to enjoy bingo and there are crafts that are offered. There are no complaints that I know of cleanliness so I assume they’re keeping on top of everything. My mom is very happy with the people she’s met there. They’re from all different walks of life. Overall, I would recommend them.

We have moved my mother into Canyon Trails, and we are super happy with it so far. It is very clean, very professionally run, and the caregivers always do an excellent job dealing with whatever comes up. My mom is crazy about the caregivers there, and she also seems pretty satisfied with the food. I haven’t had a meal there yet, but it always looks good. The community is definitely well-maintained and clean. I’d definitely recommend it to others.

I loved this facility and it was very, very nice. The only drawback I could say that they had was that it’s more expensive than the other places we were looking. I know my sister would not have been able to afford it. They had fabulous activities and the community itself was very active. She really would have loved being here if she could afford it. The only other problem I had is that it was just too far away. The grounds themselves were gorgeous and picked up. Of all the places we visited, this was the most beautiful. The staff was just wonderful, fabulous, and great. I would recommend this community.

Golden Mesa has been excellent to my sister so far. We are especially thankful to the woman who recommended it, and to the lady that showed us around when we visited. They went out of their way to be helpful. The food is good, I would say spectacular even. We were able to eat for free when we visited the entire first month my sister was there, and it is really wonderful. There is a full schedule of activities for the residents, and the place is very clean and well-maintained. I will say that the couches and carpers are on the old side, but the manager has told us that they are in the middle of negotiating renovations. We are very thankful my sister is in Golden Mesa, and we would definitely recommend it to others.

I chose this community because my Father is originally from Joliet and my brother lives only a mile away. When I was looking into moving him here, [Removed] was wonderful to work with. It was a little over budget but she negotiated with me and found a price that would work well for us. The staff here are so friendly and personable. One of the nurses here tells him that she loves him often. It’s such a family and loving environment. I can see that they really do care about my Father. They really want to create a loving home environment. The staff are more like friends to him. The facility has a nursing staff through Harvest and they are absolutely top notch. My Father has a nurse escort that brings him to all 3 meals a day and administers his medication. They make sure he is drinking enough liquids and they give him showers. Two times a week nurses come in to do a checkup to make sure he is still healthy and does a full set of vitals. There is also physical therapy staff that comes in twice a week to help him get his strength back. If the staff notices that something is wrong they call me immediately. The food is very good here and they serve 3 meals a day. I’ve eaten here myself and it’s nice. They give family members food too free of charge. The portions are wonderful as well. The facility also has snack bars where my dad can grab some water, juice or fruit cups that are available in between meals. All of the public spaces are beautiful including the dining room and game area. They have a path that goes all the way around the building and they have a seasonal garden. All of the rooms are spacious and my Father’s room has a balcony. They really try to make it feel like home. The kitchens are newly renovated and they keep up with the building nicely. Everything is just so well maintained. For activities, they have a huge calendar with something to do every day. There are games that they have, dancing, cards, and church mass. I would highly recommend this community.

It was a nice place. I want to move there. Has a lot going for it. Good location, very clean, friendly people and no moving for increased medical care. Had not thought about that before. Did not realize some places split up couples with increased medical care issues. Something to consider.

My mom has been diagnosed with moderate dementia and resides in the Heartland Village memory care facility within Las Villas Del Norte (LVDN), under the excellent and able perview of [Removed].. My mom has a spacious room with a very tranquil view of a sunny little courtyard with a lawn, shrubs and trees. It's very peaceful and her visitors are always impressed with her room and surroundings. Her room also includes a private bathroom. My mom is elderly and enjoys her room and the care and attention that she receives from the Heartland staff. Her caregivers are all very caring, friendly and patient. They understand dementia and cheerfully help my mom with all her daily requirements. They provide the level of care and assistance that my mom has always wanted so she is very happy to be at Heartland and has verbally said so. The residents at Heartland are provided with a lot of different activities on a daily basis. Unfortunately, my mom is very sedentary and doesn't participate in all the activities offered but the staff keeps trying and occasionally gets her to participate in activities like flower arrangement. Normally, my mom prefers to stay indoors but, this summer, she wanted to attend the annual luau (with Hawaiian entertainment) held in LVDN's large outdoor and grassy courtyard. She enjoyed the buffet (set up across from the pool), the outdoor setting, the Polynesian entertainment and her souvenir flower and shell leis. My mom enjoyed the entire outing and so did I. The food service at Heartland Village is very nice. My mom is on a low sugar diet and the daily meals are well-balanced and include a good variety of entrees. My mom enjoys her meals but she's not a big eater. Because of that, I've had the opportunity to sample some of her meals and found them to be quite tasty. One service that I appreciate at Heartland Village is the transportation service to and from medical appointments. My mom's in a wheelchair and doesn't transfer well from the wheelchair to my car. With the LVDN bus, she's easily driven to and from her appointments. And, if I can't be at an appointment, arrangements can be made for a caregiver to escort her and stay with her during appointments. It's a very convenient service. Another healthcare feature that we've taken advantage of is the LVDN Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). My mom had an emergency surgical procedure done and, as an LVDN resident, was given priority for admission into the LVDN SNF for post-hospital recovery. My mom had had other unhappy experiences with other SNF's but this one was completely different. For my mom, it was like going home. And when she was discharged, she was taken from the SNF, through an adjoining door, straight into her apartment in Heartland. It was simple, my mom was happy and all arrangements, and the actual transfer, were scheduled and handled by the LVDN and Heartland staff. There is also a nurse on staff at LVDN, 24/7. My mom falls occasionally and, when that happens, the nurse on duty will examine my mom, make the determination as to whether or not she should be sent to the nearest ER for further examination and/or treatment and will call me immediately to let me know about the incident and decisions. For future planning purposes, LVDN also has a care section for bed-bound residents. I like the idea that my mom, in that eventuality, has an option to move to an area with more extensive care in a place that she's familiar and comfortable with. And, as a current resident, she'll also have a priority status for residency in that section. We have found LVDN to be a very nice, well-maintained facility, with a friendly, competent and courteous staff. My mom receives very good care and is happy to be in Heartland Village.

The staff is very caring. They took care of my father as well as my sister and I. [Removed] was there with lunch for me as I fixed up dads room, and also a big hug. [Removed] is helping my sister and I to navigate this new part of our life. [Removed] cleared the floor when our dad announced everyone had to leave because it was his house. They truly care for the residents and the families. Thank you!

My father stayed at Allen Place until his final days in this world. I cannot say enough good about the facility. My father felt loved and needed the day he arrived. He finally called it his home after moving off the farm and being in another facility for three years. He truly loved living there. The staff was amazing and caring. My family is eternally grateful for loving and embracing our father when he could no longer live alone. Thank you Allen Place!

I toured this community and it was nice and clean. They had lots of activities. Also had a memory center that would help mom. But unfortunately just to big and I wanted a more one on one environment care for her.

We liked this community for my mom's care. We liked the staff who were always caring. The menu was good and she seems to like the good choices. They were always helpful to her needs.We would recommend this great community for outstanding care for the special care that we needed for my mom.
