The staff is wonderful - efficient and friendly. Food is very good. Housekeeping could be a little more thorough. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a community.

The activity director could be doing a much better, she seem more focused on herself rather than the residence, one example is the movies, they had some technical issue, but she is not focused on the important social activity for them. Come across as just lazy and uncaring on her part. The food service should be improved, such as limiting servicing size to prevent wasting is important, but being generous with seconds for those that need more than a very small portion. I know some people steal food and asks for 2nd that they take back to there room, these things should not be allowed, but having so many suffer because of the bad behavior of a few seems punitive to those that behave. I understand some to many are cognitively impaired but as this is an independent living place this needs a little better balance. Overall I am satisfied but these are areas that should be improved. If I were ready to sell my house, I would like to move in there too. Our family had recommended it to several others.

The staff is good. The housekeeping is great. Move in was no problem at all. Meals are okay, but not great. Overall, I would recommend Discovery Point to others.

We had a little issue with getting auto rent payments set up and some turnover in the dining staff, but overall, it was great. Property is a bit dated compared to other facilities, but very clean. People were great! They took great care of my dad. Good variety in food. My dad loved the activities! Very affordable. My dad passed in July, but he was very happy at Discovery Point! I would definitely recommend.

We live at Discovery Point Retirement and we absolutely love this facility/ What sticks out the most to us would be the friendly and loving staff and residents here.

There is always room for improvement. It is very clean. Everyone is very friendly. They have a lot of activites. It's very good value for the money. We picked this community, because of the price and friendliness. I would recommend to other families.

The activities are not quite as coordinated as I was hoping for - but there is a fair amount of things offered for the residents. I know that everyone is struggling to find help, my parents said the food has gotten better and there is always something to eat that someone will like. The apartment sizes are very good - they are bigger than what we expected. I would recommend Discovery Point to others looking for independent living.

I didn't realize all the activities you can take part in. So many things to do.. And my room has everything I could want. People are extremely nice and willing to help you. I am very glad I made the decision to come here.

I would recommend this community for your loved one. When my loved one first came here we did not expect it to be an easy transition. My loved one has just blossomed here. We have had great care and the staff have been great with my loved one. The value is also worth it for what all you get. It really lets the residents live independently with getting just the right amount of help based off of what they need individually.

Overall it has been a good experience, and I would suggest to other families to go take a look. It's convenient. There's a grocery store across the street, and there's a theater and restaurants within walking distance. The staff I've met were really nice. My loved one says the food is okay. I know they've had some trouble keeping the cooks and different staff. They do have some activities, although they're not really to my taste. But I think it's a pretty good place overall and a really a good value.

We chose Discovery Point because I felt that the all inclusive pay was really good. You get 2 meals, utilities, house keeping once a week, etc. The director [name removed] is really on top of her game The apartment sizes are great. We have had no complaints and would recommend to others looking.

I toured Discovery Point and it was a very nice facility. The drawback was that it is strictly independent living, so should you require more care you would have to find a new place to live with more assistance.

The only downfall was the price for us. We enjoyed the community and it was nice.

[Name removed] showed me around Discovery point. [Name removed] was very thorough and helpful. This is a very nice community and met many people and was able to see a 1 bedroom and two bedroom. Unfortunately no washer and dryer in your apt. but they do have two on each floor whatever apt. you choose.

The facilities were extremely nice. The bedroom shown was room and functional. Did not care for assigned seating in the dining area and the Non-refundable $1000.00 fee for waiting list placement. The $1000.00 fee is applied to your mandatory move-in fee, but the fact it's non-refundable to get on the wait list without a guaranteed move in date is a no go for me.

The facility is good with good size rooms and adequate amenities in them. My mother came from a more expensive senior living complex so a reduction in the quality of the apartment was expected. What I did not expect and didn't realize I should ask is that there is not someone at the front desk at all times. Many weekends there has been nobody at the desk and during the week, the staff leaves at 5:00pm. This may be normal at other independent living complexes but I was not aware this would be the case. What this also means is that there are few activities other than card games for residents after the staff leaves. This also was unexpected. I think it would have been helpful to have had the staff hours discussed during the review of the facility.

[Name removed] was fantastic as was the entire facility. However, when we saw the rooms we felt they were just too small for two people.

Overall, our experience with Discovery point has been very good. My loved one seems to be enjoying the community. The food is good, the staff is helpful, the place is clean, and they seem to have a lot of activities available. Really the only thing missing is a gym. My loved one prefers a more independent format for exercise as opposed to the classes that they do offer there. Aside from that, it really is a great community, and I would recommend it.
