We placed mom in the memory care (MC) unit at the Lighhouse Senior Living at Hopkins Creek facility. She was there for almost two months when I got a call one evening to tell me they sent mom to the ER, I was met with multiple people on the other end on a speaker phone. There was no compassion, concern, or understanding. Instead I was met with distrust, anger, accusations that we are “working against us, and not with us” and whether she, an Alzheimer’s patient, was going to call the local TV (WBAL-TV news) station, or whether or not “I believed” that someone hit my mother. My mother was not allowed to return. We had to scramble to find another facility for mom before her release from the hospital. This was over the Christmas holidays. It was a bad experience for my mom and family. This was our first at an assisted living which was very emotional then to have to go through this. She was only there for 3 months. We moved her because of the care. Room away not being cleaned, she wasn't given medicine correctly, and the food had declined.

Problems with not getting meds a scheduled, not watching taking meds, meds in the floor in room and common areas. Constant UTI's and trips to hospital.

We have had a horrible experience with Red Cedar Glen. We are moving my mother out. They have had major changes in staff both nurse directors have left they have cut staff there is not enough nurses or care givers to take care of the residents. Care is bad cleanliness is not good. I have a list of things that have happened I can email you. You do not need to be referring patients to this facility.

Robin Way will lie to you and claim to be an “age in place” facility. But what they really are is an “age in place until you run out of money” facility. My mom has been a resident at RW for 2 years. In July I put [name removed] on notice that mom would be transitioning to Medicaid sometime around October. We received a 30 day eviction notice on [date removed]. Coincidence? I think not. Mom has been struggling a little with the onset of dementia and [name removed]used that as an excuse to evict her. Mom’s room was frequently filthy. Sticky floors, black mold on the window frames, moldy food in the fridge. Mom once fell and cut herself. The pool of blood stayed on her bed and the floor for more than a week until i threatened to call the state and complain. Meals were awful. Hot food served cold, frequent thin lukewarm soup, lots of sandwiches and non nutritious food. They do the bare minimum of care. Mom got a shower maybe twice a month. Don’t put your loved one here. It’s awful.

Honestly I think the place sucks. My mom was kind of forced into their memory care section (in a shared room, but it felt more like she was shoved in the corner of the person's room), and it was considerably worse than AL. The staff isn't particularly great, and apparently only one person in the whole building knows the heimlich. Mom passed away in June and I regret that it had to be in this facility

We ended up not placing our family member there. Administrative staff were not friendly or caring. I'm so happy we found out before it was too late. We found another bright, happy and loving facility for our loved one.

The dining experience was the worse. No matter how many suggestions or complaints nothing changed. The dining room staff was short handed when we moved in and still the same when we moved out 8 months later. There were couple of days when the cook was the only person to show up for breakfast.

What stood out most is the food is horrible and most of the staff are not professional.

This place is a clear bait and switch. They tell you things before you sign the lease, and on day one, you see that the things said to you are not true. The upper manager is either incompetent or doesn't care. You tell her complaints about her care staff, and there is a blank stare on her face. The food is atrocious. You can't get hot soup if you want to. If you ask to have food warmed up, the staff tells you to warm it yourself. No one changes the bed lines. If they wash your linens, they fold them and leave them on the floor for the resident to put away. If you ask for help, the staff says you are independent and can do it yourself. I had a staff, [name removed]and [name removed], tell me that. [name removed] can never help because she is too busy blabbing about how it’s just her working with 75 patients. When you take the complaints to those in charge, they make excuses. After a while, you realize you are in the wrong place. We moved my loved one out faster than we moved her in.

There was no communication between agency aides. My loved one was left in a w/c overnight. My loved one was on a respite stay, had needs that they assured us could be met. We were very disappointed.

Walked to get some food for my wife’s aunt a young female passed by me smelling as if she’d been smoking pot all day. What a ridiculous way to be at you’re place of work smelling. Good job keep it up.

While the programming and facility at the independent living area here may be great, the area of concern at The Spires is when you or your loved one needs to be escalated to skilled nursing care. My father in law was moved to skilled nursing on Tuesday and it has been a total nightmare. Disinterested nurses and floor staff, incompetence, and a complete lack for human decency. The nurses have ignored his questions and don’t even seem to be willing or capable of taking care of his wound dressing or basic toileting care. The majority of the nursing and CNA staff have been rude to us or have completely ignored us. It was so bad that we even had one woman walk out of the room when we asked her to please explain what they were doing to my father. It has been so sad to watch and is scary enough that we are hesitant to leave him alone. So disappointing that The Spires fails to deliver basic and compassionate health care when it’s needed the most.

We are NOT happy with all the staff turnovers! Happens ALL the time! All the other things are a 5 in my book. [name removed] the activity therapist is wonderful! She takes mom to lots of different places all the time. She is the #1 staff member at Timberdale Trace in my humble opinion. I'm happy with her care, just the staffing turnover that frustrates me.

Awful, not the least bit friendly, completely zero professionalism. Awful is my only way to describe. Awful.

My loved one is no longer here, we moved her to a different facility. They need more staff. I only ever saw 2 staff members for 18 residents.

This is the worst place I have been! Most of the staff that works there don't have certificates for home health or CNA. The don't even speak English. The one guy that was always working a double would sleep at night and my loved one told me that he would hit them and was trying to rape them, but since my loved one has memory care issues they weren't going to believe them, but I know my loved one and I know something happened. He wasn't raped cause I took my loved one to the doctor. But he was dramatic.

It was a terrible experience. Do not go. If you are not handicapped, it might be better.

I placed my dad here. After a few weeks of being there, my dad hadn’t fully adjusted. The psych nurse as well as the head nurse gave him too many psych meds and he was stoned. I asked that he be taken off what was making him that way, reevaluate his meds and put him on something that worked . With Alz, adjustment isn’t easy, as they can be more confused and agitated with change. This place didn’t want to do anything but shove more meds down his throat. After multiple pleas with them , they did nothing. the director of that place called me and was snotty with me telling me that I was getting a “courtesy” call to inform me that my dad was being baker acted for something that happened the day before. I’m his POA, by law they have to call me. I hadn’t gotten a call to tell me that my dad was agitated to begin with. They don’t care about the residents and would rather send them out then help them. They don’t want to deal with anyone who is adjusting. I’ll be making a complaint with ACHA.

The atmosphere in the Atrium is very deceiving. Unreported incidences occur that management skims over. They ignore the attitudes of some of the staff. People are bossing other people around that they have no business bossing. Food doesn't always get to the residents. I would not send anybody there.
