Blessed!

On may 14 2016 I celebrated my first year at Sierra Ridge! Julia(Executive Director, my friend) and Keisha(my nurse)have went out their way to help me with my diabetes. I was taking 3 metaformin a day and now I take 1 cut in half and I have lost 50 lbs! Julia has helped me get my life back and that was the first thing I asked when I got here. She has shared her family with me and made sure I have a safe , caring home here. We have shared tears and she has helped me make many memories. The staff and other residents here are now my extended family. I have grown to love them and I thank god everyday for all my blessings. So how is your day? If you come visit Victory center you will be blessed too....

Exceptional care

Victory Centre is the best of the best assisted living center in the area. I had been awarded caregiver of my grandma. My grandmas health started to decline and she was diagnosed with dementia. I knew once my grandma got that diagnosis that it was going to be really hard to care for her at home. I was in my mid 20's and had no idea where to start with finding care for my grandma. I knew she wasn't sick enough for a nursing home and didn't want to see her in one. She went to maybe 4 different nursing homes within a year because I thought that was my only option. Then I got in touch with an extended family memeber and learned about Victory Centre Of Bartlett. She put me in touch with Starr. I made an appointment to meet with Starr we went over how everything went and how hey could care for my grandma. She had to go evaluate her to be sure Victory could support her needs. My grandma was also legally blind. She called me after meeting my grandma and said oh yes she definitely qualifies to live at Victory. I was so happy I cried. Then it was just a matter of going over my grandmas finances to be sure that part would work out. And it did!! I was over joyed! My grandma would get to be more independent have her own place but get be care that she needed. I toured the place and knew immediately that my grandma would love it before I made the decision I brought my grandma for a visit so she also felt like she was apart of the process. She also fell in love with it. We eagerly got everything ready and within a few weeks my grandma was moved into her new home. She got to bring all her furniture and it felt like home... She hadn't lived on her "own" in years and she loved the independent part of it all. The staff would help her shower, did her laundry and when she got to ill they even put it away for her, gave her, her meds, and she got 3 meals a day. The staff was very caring and very friendly. My grandma was very popular with the staff and the residence of Victory. Even though my grandma couldn't see she was able to get around well enough and even helped others at times when they needed help. She absolutely loved all the activities. And even though she was blind they included her in a lot of the activities. She loved BINGO!! My aunt and grandma use to do tours with a bunch of people back in the day for bingo. So she played bingo as much as she could! Rose made my grandma a special bingo card that was extra large so she could see the numbers and they always had someone whether it was another resident of rose herself would help my grandma keep track of her card. Grandma won a lot and she loved it!! She loved with the children would come visit and do activities with the group too. And happy hour on Fridays were her favorite. They would have some sort of entertainment for everyone and grandma very much enjoyed the singing and dancing and music that was played every Friday. My grandma loved their food! So did my family they made it very easy to enjoy meals with your loved one either you could bring in food or order from their menu. My grandma lived at Victory for a little over 5 years. And as my grandmas health declined they were so wonderful to her and to myself. At the end of 2015 my grandma got real sick and Drs at the hospital refused to treat her. So at that point Melissa my grandmas life coach told me that hospice was an option and that she could stay at Victory the duration of her life even on hospice. As hard as that decision was to make I had the staff at Victory always there to help me and guide me. If I was unsure and concerned or confused they did their best to figure it out and help me. The hospice staff was amazing to my grandma as well. In March of 2016 grandma got real bad towards the end of the month it was the hardest thing I have ever witnessed. Grandma was declining for sure but one day she was fine the next she was bedridden starting her journey home. I stayed with my grandma for the entire week till the moment she passed away comfortably in her bed in her apartment at victory. Victory feed me my meals checked on my grandma at night and me to make sure I didn't need anything. They brought cookies and fruit and crackers and coffee when family visited. The staff grew very attached to my grandma and one Lea in particular took amazing care of me and my grandma. She would come in on her days off to sit with me. She would clock out when she was done working a long day and come sit with me. She became like family she truly cared about my grandma and me. I was so very thankful that my grandma got to live out the rest of her days at victory the place she called home.. It was familiar, it was comfortable. When she passed away the staff all came and said their goodbyes and gave me hugs and cried with me. They give each of their residence a nice little memorial tribute with a special blanket over them as they leave the center and are picked up by the funeral home. They truly cared for her and for me. I recommend Victory Centre Of Bartlett for your loved ones and their needs. They truly helped me during a very hard part in my life and still after 3 months since my grandma has passed still have kept in contact. They are dedicated to the well being of our loved ones when we can't be their caregivers 100%.

Excellent Experience

So far our experiences here at this community have been great. They are taking very good care of my mother. They do a very good job with keeping everything well maintained. My mother room is always nice and clean when I visit. They offer activities, she has gone to a church service. She is pleased with the food. I'am comfortable with the type of care they are providing her. I would recommend it.

Mom is Liking This Community

Our family has found this community to be a wonderful place for Mom. It does not look nice but the staff are so helpful, accommodating, and very nice. I had so much help moving my mom in, the staff hung up pictures and helped me unpack. I was able to eat with my mom everyday I was there and its pretty good and Mom loves all the options and portions. The residents are nice and so far she has been able to watch movies with the other residents.

Attentive, Professional and Caring

My mom has been a resident at Victory Center of Sierra Ridge for the past 1 1/2 years. During that time the staff has been attentive, professional and friendly. Mom has thrived in this environment. My family and I are thankful to Julia and her staff for showing care and concern and for consistently looking out for the residents' best interests.

They care!

My mother lives in the community and I can't thank them enough for making her feel "special". Julia (Executive Director) and the wellness team go above and beyond to make sure my mom is healthy and receives all the care she needs. The whole staff are fantastic and go above and beyond each and everyday, not just for my mom but for every resident and it is evident when you walk around the common areas and see the interactions staff have with the residents. Julia and her staff truly care and I cannot thank them enough! I would recommend anyone thinking about senior care for their loved one to tour the facility and you will see what I mean

The food is wonderful there.

The food is wonderful there. The place is very clean. The care is okay, but I think it could be improved. The care could be better. The communication with the staff has been good. I would recommend the Concord Place. My overall rating of this facility is five stars. Overall, it has been a good experience there. I can't rate the activities because I'm not sure about that area. We chose this facility for my dad because of the round the clock availability of medical personnel, if he were to need it. Additionally, when he runs out of money (private pay) we were assured that this facility will help us access his veteran benefits as well as Medicaid. Therefore, he will not have to move. At the age off 88, this stability in his living environment is very important. The staff at Victory Centre are caring without being patronizing. They seem to acknowledge the unique needs of each resident. Communication with family members is excellent. The facility offers activities all day long that focus on social, emotional as well as spiritual needs. My dad asked us to help him find supportive living because he was lonely, missing his wife of 59 years. Since moving to VC, he is more conversant, has a better appetite (food is great) and seems to have more energy. It's been a little more than 4 months, but so far dad, my siblings and me are quite pleased.

Waterford Estates - Outstanding Senior Residence

I cannot adequately express my gratitude to the staff at Waterford Estates. From the first interviews with Kelly and Katherine while taking the tour of the facilities to the outstanding dedication of the 4th floor nurses, Taryn and Jen. Everyone on staff is always greeting residents and visitors with a cheerful smile and provide whatever assistance is needed. My mother has had a number of health issues since becoming a resident and the quick attention and thoroughness has been nothing less than extraordinary. They never hesitate to take immediate action for her well-being and are diligent in contacting me with a status update. The patience and professionalism of her day-to-day care-givers is outstanding. During several of my visits, i have been greatly impressed with the quality and nutrition of her meals. The various activities provided for the residents is equally as impressive. I can offer, without any hesitation, my recommendation for Waterford Estates.

Happy my mom is in a safe and comfortable place

After searching several retirement/assisted living facilities I spoke with a gentleman at Concord Place. He answered all of my questions and invited my mother and I to come visit, tour the facility and have lunch. We had lunch, spent quite some time speaking with the living coordinators as well as some of the residents. My mother has been living there for three months. She loves it. There are so many activities and she is making meeting lots of people of making friends. The food is great and my mother loves her nurse.
