Parkrose Estates is wonderful. The staff there is wonderful. My loved one hit her alert button a couple of times by accident, and they flew right up there to check on her. Mom is having a hard time adjusting, but we would expect that with so many changes in her life overall. The only thing that I had asked Parkrose about that they don't have is some type of grief counseling or something that addresses loss or grief that the elderly population tend to experience. I don't think it would matter where Mom was - it would be an adjustment anywhere. The one thing that we're disappointed in is that the other residents are not of the same capabilities as Mom is. She is very much in her mind, no issues with forgetting things. And I see a lot of less able people who are there with caregivers. But she has a beautiful apartment and is making some friends. Cleanliness is outstanding. We just wish there were more people there on her level. And the food is a little salty for people of that age.

They do have social activities but I think that it would be great if they did an orientation for the new residents to get used to the community and have someone that they can speak to if they have some issues. It would be nice to meet monthly and check in with residents for any new things, issues or good things that you want to share. The administrative staff work very hard and are very pleasant to work with. We get information in pieces and it would be nice if more communication was there.

This community is very nice and the staff are friendly. They are currently suffering a shortage and the meals are suffering a bit. Other than this there are many activities and things for the residents to do and participate in daily.

The staff was really great here, and I thought they had a lively group of residents. But the rooms were not exactly what I was looking for. They had kitchenettes instead of full kitchens, which I thought would have been too drastic of a change for my loved one coming from a house.

Overall the tour with Celebration Village was good. The facility is more expensive. They provided services that were not in line of what our loved one was looking for. It is a very active community, so if that is what you are looking for it may be worth the money.

This is my loved ones second time there. Everything has changed due to him needing more care. They are running short on staff due to the pandemic. They are also bringing in meals to him now due to his condition and sometimes they think that his breakfast left overs is lunch and it is not. Due to him being a vet it is hard to deal with the VA and get medications while being in the facility. I would recommend to keep your parents at home if you can and to not send them to a facility.

This is a nice community, but needs a little revamping and better leadership. The activities could be improved by adding more variety for the residents. The food has good variety for my loved one; however, it could have more dietary restriction options available for the residents.

We like the community and it was very nice during our tour.

We had a good tour at Northgate Park. And we were able to go pre-Covid restrictions, so we were actually able to have a complete tour. Everything we saw was good, but it was just too big of a place for our family's needs.

I think it is a good place for someone that doesn't need a lot of medical care and the individual that is social. My loved one has complained the food portions are on the smaller side. Also, that the quality isn't always consistent. They allow pets into the community.

Nice facility; a bit older but they are renovating. Larger community, lots of residents out socializing which was really nice! Staff was very nice as well.

The community is very neat and clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is not very good but I know they are trying to fix that. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Country Club because my sister in law works in the industry and her grandmothers was here. The rooms are actually a really good size because it is an older building and structure. The food that they serve is good for being bland. From what I have seen everything seems to be fine and I would recommend to others who are looking.

I toured Brookdale and it was a little pricier than what I would have liked and it was also multiple stories so you had to take an elevator, more like a hotel.

The place is beautiful. Common areas are well kept. The apartments are nice but a little smaller than some I have seen elsewhere. Also, the place I am comparing it to had pull cords in both the living room and bedroom areas as well as the bathroom. Shores didn't have one in the living room. They also don't come with a seat in the shower. Cable is included, which is nice. I wish some of the rooms actually opened onto the beautiful courtyards, but they can be accessed through the common areas. I saw some residents ready to play bingo, but the bingo caller had not shown up. I hope he/she finally did! They were in the process of training some new staff in the multi-purpose/media room, so I didn't get to see that. This is a place I might actually consider for my mom.

The community has a lot to offer and a lot of different services for the residents. There are activities for the residents to choose from. Brookdale Northbrook seems well established. The staff has been fine to work with as far as the family goes.

The scheduling person was never friendly and acted like we were an inconvenience. scheduling appoints were always very tough and we did not get to schedule as many as we wanted. The rest of the staff was very friendly and nice. They did a great job taking care of my loved one, and the food looked great. They have lots of activities available for the residence.

Our first impression of the community was that it is very nice, and the rooms provided to the residents are also very nice and spacious.

They took us on a nice tour and answered all of our questions. We decided to move our loved one here from a different independent facility. The move-in process was very good. We used a moving company they suggested to us, and the moving company was fantastic. By the time we got our loved one there in our car, they had her apartment all set up, which was very nice. That helped her a lot. She was tired and was able to lie down right away. She has dementia and experienced some confusion at first. I feel like they need to have a buddy system for people just moving in, someone to work with new residents for several days so they're aware of everything there. They did introduce her to one woman, but then we never saw her again. I think a more prolonged buddy system would help new residents. The staff were good. They looked out for our loved one because they knew she was confused at times. If she wasn't down to dinner, they sent someone down to her apartment to get her.
