Home sweet home

The onboarding experience was seamless, smooth and comforting. Staff was engaging, smiling and happy at all times. But even more was the large number of tenants who were well dressed and engaged in all kinds of activities each time we visited. As well they have tenants who are badged as concierges that help all new tenants fit in with ease. The environment everywhere is top level 10 and the atmosphere best of all place visited in either Washington State or Texas. Every time family has been there to visit Mom all they can do is rave about how happy and engaged she is and how good the food is in both the restaurant and the cafe. Mom actually told my sister how happy she is that I as the PoA chose GenCare as her new home because she is so happy!

A great place to thrive

She went directly from the hospital, in a wheelchair, on hospice. She really was barely eating and we were told she may only last a couple of months. She is now thriving. She is able to be back to the use of a walker, and has to be reminded, at times, to use it. The residents are what contributed to her recovery. She will be 95 this year. There are probably 20 residents in their 90's, or close there. Staff is very interactive with the residents. They were great about making sure she made it to the dining room and eat. The facility is clean and much brighter inside than her former facility. Front desk staff is good, particularly Katie. This facility does not roll over to Medicare if she runs out of money. That was the only drawback but the overall care and facility is so much better.

GenCare Memory Care Federal Way

I was looking for a facility for my father who has Parkinson & Dementia. Being at home was too stimulating for him and it became hard to control him. I decided to reach out to Caycare, [name removed], for guidance on Memory Care facilities in Federal Way. She provided me with a few adult family homes and a few assisted living facilities to look at. I looked at all of them and was really impressed with GenCare Lifestyle Steel Lake in Federal Way. I had a tour with [name removed] who was very knowable and understanding of my situation and I told her I want nothing but the best for my father. Of all the homes and facilities, I took a tour of I chose GenCare Lifestyle of Federal Way. The Peak Memory Care facility is a secured facility. It has a couple of large common area verse very small common areas of other facilities. I couldn’t put my father into a shoe box facility as I knew he needs a large space so he didn’t feel confined. The outdoor space was much larger than the other facilities.

A great choice for our mom

All the stuff are always Pleasant. And willing to help out with anything we ask. The only minor item would be that communication between them and me/ us isn't very frequent. This may be because my mom is in the independent living status. I love that they decorate for each of the holidays and that they are willing to take packages up to her apartment. Any request we've made has been accommodated immediately. [name removed], [name removed, [name removed] and [name removed] have been our most frequent contacts and are always helpful. Our mom has greatly enjoyed the variety of events, crafts and activities. . The exercise classes have even helped her become more stable when walking and lose some weight.

The Lodge at Eagle Ridge has a lovely campus, but not much in the way of parking near the main entrance. The grounds are lovely, and it is reported that deer and other wildlife make occasional appearances. The building is going through upgrades and what has been done looks amazing. All rooms have AC units, which is not common in the PNW, but is definitely a needed luxury. All units come with a refrigerator and a microwave, the larger units have cooktops or a stove & oven. Unfortunately, the price range is higher than our comfort levels allow, so we will not be choosing this location.

A very warm and happy, friendly atmosphere for mom. Easy to get around, not such a big facility.. The lunch was quite impressive and delicious. We were surprised how spacious the studio apartment was. This is all she would need. I feel she will be very happy there plus I like the fact that she is very close to where I live.

Mom is thriving!

I would give a five to every question. My mom loves it there and we are very happy. Faculty and staff are amazing, friendly and so kind. They take a genuine interest in all their residents and in each other. They have a great "restaurant" with a menu for all three meals. Plus they have a daily special for lunch and dinner. Residence can get Food anytime from 7 AM to 6 PM. They can even have breakfast for dinner. The activities and exercise classes are run by an amazing woman whom everyone loves. There's also transportation available for doctors appointments, hair and nails, etc.. I highly recommend the facility, especially for those folks living in that area .

Genuinely caring staff

The staff are all super friendly, the outdoor space is perfect, and there were tons of activities. In our experience, there was a lot of disagreement between hospice and the nursing staff, but everyone just wanted the best for my FIL.

Mom is thriving!

My mom is so happy with the staff. She has said nothing negative about anyone there. Everyone that works there seems very comfortable with the residents and attentive. She is also so much happier with the other residents that live there. She now has about 10 different people she talks with, and does outings with, on a regular basis. She is on hospice but has improved so much they may graduate her out of hospice. She moved in with a wheelchair and is now, back to a walker.

Wonderful place, highly recommended

I would rate all of them five except for the activities, which I would rate a four. It's an excellent facility. The staff seem to really care about the residents and are responsive to their needs. The food is good. And the building and grounds are attractive and inviting.

The Lodge at Eagle Ridge review

The meals and dining as well as the activities gets a 5+. Here, the staff are super nice, the food is excellent,(they have a new chef that helped improve the menu) The health director gives excellent guidance for exercise and gym use. There is an instructor for chair yoga that is very helpful. And the nursing staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I think it was a good choice for me.
