Five Star Senior Living

I had looked at several assisted living communities in the greater Boston area before deciding on the Gables. The location is convenient. The grounds are well maintained and cheerful. Above all, the entire staff is truly "5 -Star". The nursing staff are helpful and approachable and the folks that man ther front desk are knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I highly recommend the Gables community to anyone exploring assisted living communities in the greater Boston area. My mother and aunt both live there and truly, the staff truly make the Gables a positive living experience for the residents as well as for the family !

Very nice place, really liked it, but it was a bit above my Dads price range. They did call back to let me know they would find out if any of the small studio rooms would be available, which would bring the price down, which was nice.

So far everything has been great at HeartLands! It's a very nice looking community, and everyone has been very friendly! They made the moving process so easy! The two girls we worked with in the marketing department really went out of their way to be available any time we needed them to help ease the process!

Very impressed with this facility which was the one we chose. Positive factors that led to the decision included the design and layout of the apartments and the overall building, management and staff, the dining facility was a positive particularly the quality of the food and the 'anytime dining' option that is available. Location was also an important factor.

Beautiful facility with all the amenities; did not have studios available at this time. Multiple levels of floors a little bit of a concern. Would recommend to anyone. Great staff taking personal concern for the residents. A+

It's excellent for assisted living, we were going to go there. However once our situation changed, it was no longer the best fit for our situation. It would have been more restrictive for her social interaction, and would have raised the price quite a bit, for us. But they are really good at socializing their residents and have great care. They are a great place.

I had another family member that lived here for several years and was really happy. The food is pretty good, and we would have come here, but they didn't have a room available, at the time we needed one.

-For a senior that is still social, this is a perfect facility. Lots of activities during the day.. -Heartlands NEVER smells bad. -Wellness Center knows each patient and calls them by name during the day. - I know my mom is safe in this facility. - I know her meds are being given each day. Employees of Heartlands are very cheery and happy.

They seem to be taking decent care of her, but she is at a rehabilitation community as of the time of this review. I don’t have a lot of strong opinions on this community, but as I said, they seem to be doing a decent job.

My loved one was only here for a brief time, but overall I think they do a good job at Morningside of Decatur. It is a very well run facility, and they do a great job keeping everything looking clean and well kept. The staff are all very friendly, and they do a great job looking out for their residents.

Darlene helped my mom transition the The Forum. I really appreciated her attention to detail, care and concern! It made the transition go smoothly!

They are very clean and friendly. They are pretty attentive and responsive, and they have plenty of activities. The only thing is that they hate the food. There have been various issues with service, the vegetables aren't cooked enough, and sometimes the fish is overcooked. Other than that we are very happy.

Still contemplating this also. Rooms are bigger.

My mother and I were so impressed by 5 Star that it made her decision easy! She had not yet committed to moving to independent living when we visited the facility but everything about it helped to make up her mind. She moved in last week and so far so good!

Not near LGH but very nice place. They have a waitin list for studio but 1 bedroom may be an option

I trust it for my mother. There were a couple of reasons for picking this community. One was that they had an opening and it was close to where I live. Her room was spacious. The food is very nice. The people are very caring.

This is really a great place. Great food, extraordinary amenities, 40 acre campus, well manicured. So many activities that you have to choose what you want to do. Very friendly, very helpful staff and residents. For what you pay, you get a bargain. I looked at 10 places and this was by the less expensive and all of their costs are "up front". No surprises, or add ons. If you complain, they give you the benefit of the doubt, and make it right, even if you might be at fault. Because it is off the highway, hidden on a hill, it is quite. You can lease a villa, or an apartment. The Forum is negotiable to a certain extent on move in prices. They have people to help you through the process until you get settled. Free Chauffer service to meals at the Forum, Doctors' appointments, grocery, hair dresser, practically anywhere from 8:30 to 3:15 (return).

My mother is very happy & doing so well at Overland Park Place. She is going to exercise class , playing Bingo, Cards, does not miss any of the entertainment that they bring in from speakers on health to music. The food is great because there are choices for breakfast , lunch and dinner. The food is very good and the portions are sized for the older adult. My mother says she is at the perfect place for her. My sister and I go see Mom no less than 4 x a week. It is always clean and the people are happy.

My mother and father both were at Morningside due to Alzheimer's , dementia, and medical problems. The Director, nurses, CNA's, dietary, PT, Hair dresser, the Ladies that painted Mom's nails, and Activity Coordinator were phenomenal! My Mom had to be placed on the secured Memory Care Unit and my father was on the Assisted Living side, close to that unit's door. My father could go in anytime and help my Mom and he could participate in activities and be social with the residents in Assisted Living. Morningside made the last days of my parent's lives comfortable and the compassion was beyond my expectations! Bless you all!

For my uncle recovering from gastrointestinal surgery, it was most important to provide him tasty food to entice him to eat. I personally visited 6 different sites in SA and found The Forum had the best tasting. Another requirement, in addition to the basic ones, was beautiful grounds as he loves nature. Of course the basic items of friendly, competent staff and building and room cleanliness are great at The Forum and were essentially great at the other 5 facilities that I visited. The Forum provided a week's respite apartment and allowed us to bring in 24 hr nursing attendants. This arrangement -- comfortable housing, beautiful grounds, good food and 24 nursing is working extremely well for my uncle who is now on his way to recovery.
