Do not moved your loved ones here. Make sure to read their reviews on websites. My loved one fell and they do not know how or when and they do not have an incident report written up. The director is unprofessional and rude and it was not a good experience at all.

Concerned and confused

I am a friend of a resident, I have to say the place is beautiful, but certain staff are rude and take there staff for granted , the maintince man [removed] I heard talking to his staff I couldn't understand why I saw him screaming at one employee. She was holding her hand and left in tears as I stood in shock, for him to be so angry and yell makes me worry about my Friend. It's unexceptable to me to see a hard worker leave in tears but to yell down the hall I'm done with you wow, I see alot when I'm here but this took the cake. I think someone needs to do something about his anger and the way he talks. Other than that I'm pleased to say it's a great place, well keot, and clean food good but management needs to learn these are people too. I really feel bad for the girl , also I had just told art what. A great job she does on his room

The .5 in my overall rating is only because of certain estaff members but I wouldn't trust Forest Oaks to watch my dog! Residents wander around in dirty clothing, there are no activities except bingo and pokeno, management is more concerned with making money, "3 chef prepared meals" yet the chef is only there one day out of the entire week, the nurse and her assistant are late daily and don't have time to speak with the family, unlicensed resident aids are really the ones in charge of the residents and managament have also been overheard speaking negatively about residents and their families. If you care about youre family members well-being don't send them to Forest Oaks!

Never again

Elevated states was the worst place I could ever possibly bring my mother to. The elevator was always broken, the food was substandard, and the assistance from the staff was poor. She now lives with me permanently!

This place is a dump

Staff is not there at night for transports. New windows are not installed in renovated room this rain pours in. Dungy and inhumane. Choose elsewhere. Food decent. Not secure. People leave and no one knows.

Elevated Estates of BRooksville

I wouldn't even rate a 1. The place is disgusting, filthy and has cockroaches. Quality of care....there is none. They did not give our friend his meds for a month. Left him in his feces. The administrative staff were liars. Our friend was supposed have a portioned room which never happened, good luck getting ahold of someone unless they need something from you. Because of the care our friend ended up in the hospital then rehab went back to elevated and then back to the hospital. The food was nasty, he would not eat it. There weren't any activities. In a way I guess you get what you pay for. When it came to friendliness, the staff and most patients were friendly

Disappointed

I saw the med cart left open while staff was no where near and then in dining room staff was not concerned about clients being up to table or helping them. I went to sit at table with my aunt and chair beside my aunt had feces on it!! Staff said oh it happens all the time!! No excuses Also when I signed all the paperwork I did not get a copy till weeks later. I was also told $[removed] deposit was a registration fee when I checked my aunt out and was also told I had to give 30 day notice!! But I signed all paperwork so fast I didn't get a chance to read it and have a copy before I left that day!!! Very unprofessional

Communication issues

My mother was there 48 hours. I got a call that she’d left. The building and the sheriffs department had to be called. She slipped out the door with some visitors. Then the doctor prescribed her medication. She was addicted to for 35 years after I told them 45 minutes of a history of this. Then I find out from her roommate things that are going on with her health and I am not informed! I had to diagnose that she had shingles one day sending a picture to the doctor, and my mother was in a wheelchair never has been when I saw her that day. I started asking questions come to find out. She was dangling out of three-story window and broke her ribs and that is why she was in the wheelchair. I immediately found a new place! Do not refer this place at all, this is a sad ordeal!! Am just glad to have my mother back in my arms again??

Our experience

My main concern for the residents that are still there is the fact that none of the emergency pull switches that are located near the bed if the resident needs assistance are disconnected and I ask them and their reply was "the resident s kept calling them. My husband had a problem with his chair and kept calling for help so when no one came he called 911 which I guess embarrassed them so then he was not allowed to have his phone. There were not enough staff members to have three floors open. One night I left it was about 8pm and there was no one at the front desk to let me out so it took me about 30 minutes to get out because no one was there and they would not answer their phones.

The place is filthy

My family member has been in here for about 2 years. In that time the elevator has not been working, they now allow pets that are all over the place, they cut the cable and expect them to use streaming services, and have stopped cleaning. Yesterday we were there. The floors were sticky outside the rooms, when entering the room it was apparent that no one has cleaned in quite sometime. Our family member had soiled the bed and was still sleeping in it for days/weeks since it had been changed. What are we paying for?

Keep looking

I have a friend that lives at Forest Oaks and I wish she didn’t. Many of the employees are so rude and do not take proper care of the residents. The food is disgusting! I saw a med tech giving medication without gloves using her bare hands. The director seems like she could care less. Please, do not place your loved one here.

The Edwinola Senior Community review

Our loved one was only there for a few days before we pulled them out. If your loved one can move into assisted living or independent living they would be fine, but the community was not equipped for memory care. On our initial tour the community was fifthly, and there was a couch in the main gathering area that was so disturbing to look at. Also they did not treat us well when it came to the finances, what they did was very wrong.

I decided to take a drive out to this place to insure I could find it and just have a look of the outside. The front was nice. The rest of the outside is covered in mold/mildew. The building reminded me of a prison. It is ugly/scary. I won't be returning.

Refused to let me take a tour

I stopped by the Edwinola for a tour. The management refused to give me a tour and stated that I HAD to have an APPOINTMENT. I won't put my family member here if I can't see what's going on and what the place looks like. They should have let me have a tour when I asked for it. Doesn't seem right to me.

My parent is living in the assisted lived and has been attacked twice. Once by a room mate. Once by another woman who wanted to be first into the dinning. Staff never notified me of the incident my parent did. Both times she was hurt and needed medical attention. She does not feel safe to be around the other residents here. Staff doesn't seem to care. Only a paycheck and they are always in meeting and don't return calls.
