Dorothy Cares Assisted Living Facility

I brought my mom to this facility back in 2016. She is one of the pioneer at Dorothy’s. The whole staff is amazing. They care, love and treated their patients like they are part of their own family. Nice and very cleaned facility. There is a good relationship between residents and staff, which I love. It is a cozy , and familiar place where the residents feel at home!

There are really no words to describe the professional and loving care that residents receive in this facility, it is the best in the area. My mother suffered a severe fall in 2020 that led to a decline in her cognition and the need to recover in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. It was in the large nursing facilities that were chosen for their expertise that she fell three more times, breaking her hip and arm. Once I was able to get her out and into Dorothy Cares, she has recovered she is thriving and her cognition is better than before her initial fall!! The setting is in a house, the residents are like fam., and the staff cares for them with real concern! They do special things like paint her nails, movie nights, and daily exercise customized to their abilities!For the care that is given they could charge staggering prices with fees additional things done but that doesn’t happen here. facilities all over the Tampa Bay Area to include Sun City pale in comparison.

I just want to thank [name removed] and her staff for letting us see the two facilities and letting me write an article on senior care in todays world. My family is now on a wait list to get my aunt in one of the assisted living facilities.

I am a therapist and I visit many assisted living facilities on a daily basis. When I am in the Riverview area, both of Dorothy's homes are my absolute favorite facilities to visit. If anyone is looking for this area which is close to either Apollo beach, Sun City or Brandon areas; my team and I would recommend them to anyone. I also want to say keep up the good work and thank you for keeping the residents so loved, happy and cared for.

I had mom in a larger facility in Sun City and I cannot compare the care she has received in this facility compared to them. Even when I toured other facilities I saw the difference in environment, care and joy the owner & staff brings to the ALFs. I usually write reviews of places when they are bad to warn others, but this excellent review was called for! I am so grateful to have found Dorothy's ALF.

A friend referred me to Dorothy and we could not be happier. Thank you and your staff for all the wonderful care, delicious home cooked meals and the love you provide to all the residents.

I was so stressed about finding a loving and competent home but the moment mom moved in I felt really good about our decision. Everyone is so sweet and mom was always taken care of. I was reading the Osprey Observer today and was so excited for you [name removed] on your award for Best Senior Living 2021. I am a Physical Therapist who has seen several residents at the Dorothy Cares homes. The staff are friendly and very caring to the residents, and have been helpful during my treatment sessions. The residents also appear happy and are always well groomed. It is easy to see why you were awarded for 2021!! Congratulations again!!

I work as a therapist in the medical field for a Homehealth company that has visited Dorothy Cares Assisted Living Facilities in Riverview. The other day I needed to look up their address on google and I was impressed by her 5 star reviews. I don’t usually write reviews, but I could not help but to add my option as well. I must say Dorothy runs a couple of really nice, comfy smaller environments for these folks, they are all well cared for and always look happy. Good job to this nurse and her staff for their hard work in the community and for inspiring others like myself in the field.

Let me start off with CUDOS to Dorothy and her staff! She was a helpful force caring and assisting me on the journey of my Grandmother’s later life. Dorothy assisted me through the transition from my home, to her assisted/memory care facility to the final days of her life. Dorothy was always just a phone call or text away when needed. While my grandmother was at her facility, Dorothy and her staff cared for her with kindness and compassion as if she was one of their family members during her stay. I would highly recommend Dorothy Cares Assisted Living to anyone looking for a small, intimate, family friendly assisted living facility.

I cannot say enough about the compassion that Dorothy has for families trying to take care of their loved ones. I contacted Dorothy about 3 months ago about her homes she was so very helpful and compassionate at the time. We where not ready to place my mother yet but that did not matter to her. She was still very helpful. My mom went into the hospital with the Covid virus on [date removed] and was released on [date removed]. My mom was released from the hospital because she met the symptoms release protocol. But none of the homes would take her because she did not have a negative tests. The doctors said my mother was no longer contagious but still we could not find a place to take her. The only place we could place her was in a Covid ward at a nursing home but they do not offer care for fall risk patients. And my mom is a fall risk and has Dementia that was exasperated by 18 days of isolation in the hospital, she had no windows in her room. I called Dorothy and she found us a home that took my mom on a Symptoms base release. I cannot express my family’s gratitude to Dorothy for helping us when no one else would because of wanting a negative test. I highly recommend Dorthy’s homes even though my mom is not in one of them. I cannot imagine that they are not the best of the best when you have such a compassionate person who owns and runs them Thank you Dorothy

Best has been the best place for my dad, he’s been there for a couple of years now and wish I can give them 10 stars ?? instead of 5. It takes a special nurse Like [name removed] and her staff to have these successful assisted living facilities. I recommend them both and you will love the home cooked meals.

Just wanted you and your staff how much I appreciate all that you do. It has been horrendous stress working with COVID patients at the hospital. I cannot begin to imagine if my mom was in a nursing facility and not being able to see her. That added stress would probably kill me. I could not have mom in a better place than Dorothy Cares Assisted Living Facility. The attention and care is indescribable, mom tells me she's spoiled there all the time. So blessed to have found this ALF. My aunt is trying to get in to their second location Dorothy Cares II ALF, but they always keep full. I recommend to get on their wait [removed]

About a month ago, I was able to do a tour at Dorothy Cares ALF and let me tell you, I was not disappointed at all. I would like to share my experience with you all, if you are looking for someone to care and love your loved ones. You really need to think about Dorothy Cares Alf, think about the quality over the expense. Because Dorothy Cares gives you an all in one package with love. The ALF was spotless with a fresh smell and the staff was very polite, smiling and most of all they treat the clients with respect. The interaction between the staff and the clients was priceless as I watch on. If I ever get to the place that I can’t care for my Mother or myself, we will be heading to Dorothy Cares ALF. This is a wonderful facility. The staff is attentive and caring, and the environment is always clean and safe. My mother was always happy and well cared for. The staff did a great job of communicating with us any changes in her health, demeanor or needs.

Toured both facilities and owner is very medically knowledgeable and runs two very nice facilities in the South shore area of Riverview. I was very impressed and residents with families had nothing but nice things to say.

Dorothy's Care is the best facility for many reasons. It is like "home away from home" with delicious home cooked meals and loving care from the staff. They should also win a reward for cleanliness. I can't thank them enough for doing such an excellent job taking care of my husband and I highly recommend them.

Dorothy Cares Assisted Living Facility In Riverview, Florida is an outstanding Care Facility! My husband was in need of more care than I could provide and this facility went above and beyond all my expectations. The home is beautiful and extremely clean with a garden and sun room that he really enjoys. The bedroom is large and very well organized. One of his favorite things about the home is the delicious home cooking! The pricing here is more than reasonable and the care he receives is fantastic! It was a miracle to find this home. The staff treats him as they would treat a family member and they have been so understanding and helpful to me as well. If you are looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one I highly recommend this facility. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dorothy Cares!!
