Distinctive Living

Brooklyn Pointe is a very bright community and it appealed to our loved one the most which is why we picked it. The activities are fabulous, there is plenty of different things for the residents to do to keep busy. The meals themselves are good, there is nothing wrong with the quality. However as far as those who have diabetes or anything other dietary restrictions they could work on having different snack options. For example during bowling the only snack/treat they have is chocolate. The overall value for the money is completely worth it and we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

It feels like walking into a home, because you walk in and there's a lovely living room. You'll see a baby grand piano with music playing at times. The residents spend time in the common areas; it has a home-like feel when you walk in. My loved one has a studio apartment. It is just enough space, and has a nice little kitchen area with a microwave & refrigerator. She has her own furniture, it was made very easily for her to feel at home when she walks in. In fact, when she walked in she said, "This looks like my house". Some of their activities include music, weekly visits from one of the local Catholic churches with communion, bingo, and outings to the zoo. They have lots of different things to do. She really likes the fact that the food is from a menu, similar to going to a restaurant and picking from the menu. One of the things the family says constantly is: we know that our loved one is safe and taken care of here. I would recommend Brooklyn Pointe to others.

I would refer Inspired Living to anyone whom asks. Overall is a wonderful facility, but they do need some assistance on communication back to the family with updates.

I toured at both the Hidden Lakes location and another Inspired Living location. They were similar, but I preferred the other location. I liked that Hidden Lakes was a smaller community, but overall it was just okay. It had that odor about it, which I know a lot of time can’t be helped but is still off-putting.

The community is an excellent place for a loved one that needs assistance with memory care. This community is more set up for those residents that need memory care, and not for assisted living assistance, in my opinion. The staff are very responsive to the family's questions or concerns during our loved ones stay.

We have had a very good experience here. This was really the only place that didn't have a spend down, and it is a quality place. The staff are very responsive to the family's questions or concerns about our loved one. The residents have choices to choose from for meals, and the meals are served three times a day. The community also provides snacks to the residents.

We had a very quick tour at The Chelsea at Tinton Falls. But the staff were very kind. I thought the facility needed a little updating.

I think it's all been very good. But they stretch the fact that they have a lot of Spanish speaking employees, and they really don't. With My mom's dementia, she's losing the ability to speak in English and is going back to her native Spanish, so sometimes that's an issue. There are some things I wish they would do differently, but I know there is a revolving door of healthcare workers everywhere right now. Overall, I think they do a pretty good job. You have to be realistic and let go of some of your expectations. If you can do that, you'll be pleased. Their pricing is the same as other places I looked into, but the facility is a little nicer. It's freshly painted, and they have a lovely garden where she loves to sit. The reason I picked them is because I knew she could stay there through her whole sickness and not have to move from level of care to level of care like at other communities. She had a difficult adjustment, and they were really good at bringing her into the fold. They're also super responsive to any comments that I might have.

We were very nicely greeted at The Chelsea at Montville, and the tour was very informative. We didn’t choose them because of the arrangement of the shared room - it seemed a little too intimate/close.

{name removed] who is the director of community relations was the first person we met with an she is absolutely outstanding. She is the go to person with any questions, issues and concerns we may have. [name removed] who did the initial nursing evaluation was just phenomenal. We had had a couple issues here and there with the nursing staff and not follow up which can be problematic but other than that its been a wonderful experience. There is an activities calendar which looks amazing, the physical therapy has been terrific and the occupational there has been outstanding. We like the fact that there is an outdoor patio, where the residents can gather and even eat their meals weather permitting. They always have a fenced in walking area so your loved ones can walk around outside without the worry of them wondering off. When the weather is nice the residents do have the possibility of going off sight to do activities. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend them to other families

They are very friendly at this community. They provide good care to my loved one. They are low on staff at the time but the staff that they do have are good and work well with my loved one. They have activities like noodle ball, bingo, wine down Wednesday, movies and more for the residents to do to stay busy and active in the community.

Our family had an in person tour and to us it felt more like a nursing home rather than an assisted living community. However the staff we did meet with were super friendly

My Dad has a great room, he gets great care. They are attentive, thoughtful, and caring. It's a clean place that I know my Dad is safe in. That makes him happy as well as myself. Housekeeping comes once a week. Laundry comes daily. This is a locked memory unit. They offer themed activities like cognitive, spiritual and physical for the memory care residents. Community themed as well to help the residents get to know each other. The staff call with any concerns.

Our family had an in person tour and it is a very nice community, we liked how it had assisted living and memory care, but the were very unresponsive to our calls and we lost interest.

Our family had an in person tour and this is strictly memory care. Unless your loved one is really deep in their stages of dementia/Alzheimer's I would not suggest this community. The tour was good, it is a nice community and we did see fun activities going on, but it was just not the correct stimulating environment we were looking for at the time.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice tour but that the time there was only one male resident there and we wanted a community that had more men that our loved one could bond and socialize with.

I think everything is great. I'm very happy that I put my loved one there. The only thing is now that she's there, I don't know who to go to with questions about medications and other medical things. So sometimes I feel like I don't know what's going on. But she tells me she loves the food, and they have a lot of activities. I've also been very impressed with how clean they keep the facility.

The friendliness and cleanliness of the community really stood out to us as a good first impression. We would recommend Inspired Living at Hidden Lakes to other families.
