We chose Westgate Village because it was newer, didn't smell like cigarettes, had a patio off of Mom's apartment, and amenities in the apartment such as a full-size fridge, an oven and a stove, a dishwasher, and a stacked washer/dryer. For activities, they have so few residents that ever participate, that some activities never get to occur. The activities are available, just not all happening.

Beautiful place, great staff and excellent food.

It's been a good fit for us! No community is perfect but the leadership in this community works with residents and families to make it personalized and the best experience possible for our father!!

I would recommend your service and definitely Benton House. Great activities, Great food, treat residents like family. Mom had a great transition to Benton House. We have been very pleased with her care.

Nothing specific, our experience was great and I have no real complaints. Everything so far has been wonderful. I absolutely recommend Prairie Hills at Cedar Rapids to others.

. We are very happy with Meadow Oaks and he is thriving there. There have only been a few minor glitches with meds but these can generally be traced to the VA

[name removed] and [name removed] are the best. Any questions or needs were taken care of and answered asap. They let us use the actives room for some special events for my mom. We are a big holiday and birthday family. The best thing is that if can't her on the phone someone would go Check on her and let me know how she was doing. I would and already have recommended them to others.

8-29-24, The location of this Brookdale to MAJOR medical entities is a major plus when considering where to live. I failed to include this to my previous 5 star reviews (as a resident). Those considering senior housing for an elderly person know GOOD medical care to be a VERY IMPORTANT and noteworthy element. Start with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, 2.2 miles away. Then combine that with the Des Plaines fire station (EMT’s) 0.6 miles away. Add those to recent growth of multiple new and modern medical labs plus large amounts of Doctors offices in the area and you have a higher level of medical care comfort. Then add the Brookdale scheduled medical appointment transportation to the mix and you have a “as good as it gets” feeling. I know since I use all of these services on a regular basis and am ever more satisfied choosing BDP as my home! Look at my previous reviews on Brookdale Des Plaines Facebook page

IF I could give the meals and dining a 0 I would. The food is horrible. I don't know how they actually serve some of the meals they do. However, I would recommend this community to other families.

My loved one is a resident of Somerford Place. She is very loved by the caregivers and nurses. When I am not able to be there, I never have to worry about her well being. Each time I visit there is something fun happening.

I love it here. I picked this community because it looked great and the price was right.

My Mom's experience there has been wonderful. Three meals a day along with housekeeping once a week is great. There are a lot of activities to do. Great staff and nice residents. They are doing renovations to make a nice place even nicer. My Mom really loves it there.

Five out of five on everything, except a four for meals. I chose this community based on price, it was a main factor for me.

Staff is very nice, it's almost like family. They are very informative. Eager to know what we expected for the care of our mother. Good security to keep everyone safe.

The facility is kept clean. It is bright and sunny. My mom enjoys the activities. The only real negative is the quality of the food. To improve the food, they need to learn how to season without an abundance of salt. Also, the meats tend to be tough, so cooking times need to be adjusted. Finally, sauces can use more flavor ( not salt).

They have good sized apartments with large bathrooms that accommodate wheel chairs. Restaurant is a good social hour for each meal and included in rent. All other costs like utilities are included in the rent. Grace home care is in the building for some assistance if needed.

Beautiful facility, well kept, and a very nice reliable staff. I feel extremely comfortable that my brother is in a community that has his best interest in mind. I know he is being well taken care of.

Great environment to work in actually. love the residents vey sweet and kind! I’m allways treated and greeted when walking through the front door and to make it better ['name removed]and the-new executive director are really on top of a lot of things here at the plaza keep up the good work you guys

I have worked at numerous senior living communities and Arlington Plaza, without a doubt, has the most caring staff of any of them. I’ts been such an honor to be at the community through so many changes. When I started there was road construction and then shortly after that we got an internal remodel! Now the place looks great and new equipment is still coming in!! [name remove] are the best and are so easy to work with!

Came in to check this place out. Staff was pleasant and very respectful. I was extremely pleased. Place was clean, I feel very comfortable with my relative staying here. I would most definitely recommend this place
