Courtyard Manor

Everything has been okay so far. There have been no complaints about food, or the staff, or anything like that. So far, I think I would give them a five. There really wasn't anything that made me choose them, but it seems to be a good fit.

We visited this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought that was a very nice looking place! However, the rooms were shared, and it was also one of the more expensive options we saw when we were touring.

Courtyard Manor has done such a fantastic job with my Mom, I can't say enough good things about them! Mom used to sleep all day in her previous community, but the staff at Courtyard Manor have really worked hard to get her active and involved. The difference has been like night and day! Her demeanor has totally changed and the only time she is in her room now is for a quick afternoon nap and to sleep at night. They have their eyes and ears on her all the time and are always right on top of things if she needs any help. The people here have really gotten to know her and really care about her!

Courtyard Manor of Fenton is pretty nice. The room's are spacious. The care givers are very caring people. My Mom tells me the food is good. And I am especially glad that it is a lockdown facility.

Prior to going into the hospital my father was living in an assisted living facility. With little time before he was being released from the hospital we realized he was going to need full time care. While I was searching for facilities that could meet my fathers needs I called "A Place for Mom' and spoke with Judy. Within a few hours Judy check with locations within my search area and found two sites that could meet my fathers needs. My sister and I toured the sites and decided on moving him to Courtyard Manor of Farmington Hills. The admissions staff went out of their way to accommodate my fathers admission on a Sunday and his move in went without a hitch. My father has been at Courtyard for a week and my he likes it. The staff is polite, professional and takes great care of him. It is nice to know that he is receiving consistent care from the well trained staff with years of experience at Courtyard Manor.

Overall they're doing a great job here! The facility itself is very clean and well kept, and the caregivers are very caring and compassionate towards the residents. They do a good job of keeping everyone comfortable, happy, and entertained. I haven't had a chance to stay for a full meal but, if the brownies are any indication, the food is excellent!

I have found all personnel associated with this Care Facility have always had my loved ones best interest at heart. They have been ever vigilant in providing him with all the attention he requires. They are friendly and loving toward him and are aware of his limits. My family, who actually selected this facility, are also happy with their selection.

Having to move Mom from one facility to Court yard was difficult on her. The staff understand that and help her to acclimate to her new surrounds. She is more active here and I can never reach her by phone as she is never in her room. They get appetizing meals, something her last place did not provide. Her room is always clean even though she seems to like hiding her clothes and snacks. I would recommend Courtyard for someone who needs supervision with some daily needs or more help as I have seen the care they give to everyone.

I think things have gone well so far at Courtyard Manor! The staff have been fabulous, they are welcoming, friendly, and gentle, and have gone above and beyond trying to help my loved one settle in. The facility itself is clean, well maintained, and attractive. They also do a great job with the food! It has smelled fantastic every time I have been there, and my loved one raves about it!

The caregivers, as you surely know, are where it really matters. Fancy places are meaningless without great staff. I got lucky, good people and adequate numbers. Courtyard manor in Farmington Hills was an especially good decision. They were equipped to deal with a very wide range of behavior problems that other places are not. And once again that includes incredibly patient, even lovingly, people who deliver more than they could possibly be paid. Many memory facilities were not equipped for that, or were significantly more expensive or long drive away.

My mother was in another facility and we decided to move her here due to some concerns. We’ve been very happy so far. The staff is great! The layout of the facility gives a feeling of a home versus an assisted-living or medical Center, And allows good observation for the staff. The building is showing a little wear and tear, but nothing major. The meals are just average, but they feed all the residents at once in a very nice open room, and include everyone so it has a very pleasant atmosphere instead of a cafeteria feel. As for cost, it’s much higher than the previous facility but I feel it’s worth it given her advanced dementia needs. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others.

Our family had an in person tour with Courtyard Manor of Fenton and it was a nice tour experience but way too much potpourri scent upon entering the building. I'm not the only person that thinks this btw!

The staff was very friendly, areas were clean. I was proactive on the communication side (for example: requesting updates), but all important issues were communicated promptly. I would recommend this facility to friends and family.

It's a good experience and I would recommend it. They are always on top of it. They play games. Each day there is a new activity for them. If they don't want to play they try and give them something else to do.

This was a nice community. It wasn't the right fit for our loved one, due to their needs.

I'm pleased with most everything here, but we're having a bit of an issue at the moment with getting mom's vaccinations completed (ie flu, covid). We've been told a couple of times that it would be scheduled, but it hasn't yet. I plan to follow up with them again today. The Dr visits here seem to be rushed. But I was told he's there for short time periods and sees residents in all 3 buildings, so I can see why that is. Housekeeping and laundry are fairly good. The food looks very good, seems to be good quality. Communication with the family was good at first, but now I have to be the one to initiate contact with them. They're not proactive like they were at first. They do post Covid updates weekly, which we appreciate. It's nice to have that information when visiting (as far as how many tests were ran and negative/positive cases for the week). I would recommend them to family and friends.

I am grateful that we choose Courtyard Manor of Farmington Hills. My fathers health was on a much steeper decline than we realized. Not too many places would have been able to provide the quality of care at the level that Courtyard did, nor the range that was needed. I should also add that [name removed] from a place for mom was very helpful. Twice, actually. Highly recommend a conversation with [name removed] for anyone in Detroit area who has such a need.

I toured this community. I would suggest them as an option for assisted living, but probably not the best fit for memory care.

This is a very clean community. The nursing staff are very friendly towards my mother all of the time. They have activities like chair exercise programs, arts and crafts, trivia and bingo, games and more for the residents to do. What they don't have is a music program which is what I would like to see and have been requesting and pushing for in the community.
