When you are looking for memory care, a lot of places tell you that they specialize in it and that is not the case. CERTUS truly specialize in that type of care, everything is catered to the residents and they are always doing studies to make things better for them. If you have loved one who needs memory care, this is the place to go, it is the best that I have seen.

We are very satisfied with our experience with CERTUS. I have found them to be sensitive, helpful, and caring. I feel good about my mom being in their care and I would recommend to other families looking.

I think this is a great community. My loved one is happy here. I think this is a good place for my loved one as well. Recently there has been a breakdown in communication with the community and the family. Overall I am still impressed with the staff and the community.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Can be a little difficult to get in after hours but I guess that's a good thing for knowing your loved one is safe. I think the greatest opportunity to help keep family involved is to have a medical portal so the appropriate family can know what's going on and any medication changes.

My mom wasn't at Certus very long when her POA and Health POA (not her daughters), chose to move her to a different facility---an Assisted living facility with a memory care unit which is where she was placed. I was distraught over their decision. In my opinion, I view a memory care unit within an Assisted living facility a back hallway warehouse---a place for your loved one to go to die! And that's exactly what happened! I would highly recommend a family looking for a memory care facility to take a hard look at a place like Certus---a facility dedicated to memory care. The concept of Certus is science based. Main Floor living allowing the residents to move about freely. No stairs. Coordinator was informative, helpful and supportive. Nurse was the same and kept family members informed. Facility was clean. Activities available and residents encouraged to attend. Friendly receptionist. Food was average Often difficult to reach resident on the facility phone. Thanks for your help on the front end of this journey and on the backend. I know you'll use these comments to help other families do research for their family members.

Certus is the right place for dementia impaired individuals. The staff are caring. They know each resident and their needs. The facility has PT/OT partner on site who work with the resident helping them with strength and balance. The Certus facility is designed specifically for memory impaired individuals from specific colors, flooring that is unique that helps with stability and even with type of food. Even the food staff know the residents needs such as food choice, drinking cups and will step in to assist. What is also great is at the shift change over, the staff will gather to review what occurred on that shift or new procedures with the on coming staff. When I have reported an issue, management works to resolve. Sometimes it takes a couple of times to get that issue resolved. I am very relived and grateful that my mom is a resident at Certus.

Certus at Mount Dora was a beautiful place for our parents. They worked with us financially and with their Hospice care. Unfortunately, their stay was cut short due to declining health. Our biggest challenge was the food and frequency of falls. They did not care for the food. However, our father entered Certus overweight and taking insulin shots. He lost a large amount of weight and did not need insulin. Our mom was kept clean and beautiful. She was on oxygen and wheelchair bound, that was heartbreaking. So often she was seen not using her oxygen. The portable unit quit working and she never got another one. We requested another working unit. Not sure why she never received one. Her health declined more rapidly afterwards. Both parents have passed away.

Overall experience was great - understanding how sensitive and emotional this is/was to us; the information provided; the tour; not rushed or pressured into making a decision; introduced us to staff; walked around with my mom giving her a personal tour & invited her to join in on the activities while I visited with the executive director; very clean; secured; accommodating to my tight schedule; and so much more. I've visited this community months prior to the Dad's passing and was pleased & impressed. As they say, "first impressions....". Six months later when I called again, they remembered that I may be calling for my mom when my Dad passed. Without mentioning my Dad had passed, after greeting me, they gave me their condolences. Touched my heart.

It's a tuff business! There were some issues with the amount of paperwork. All business is having help issues and turn over. It's always the sales pitch to get the beds filled. Over all everything went well. There probably wouldn't have been a better place. Plus it was a good size. She had several falls. There is always room for improvement.

My family and loved one had a good experience with Certus. The community is small and this was one of the reasons we choose Certus for our loved one. The staff have been great with every concern from the family and our loved one. Overall, this is a community we would recommend to others.

It's a good place. It's a memory care facility. It's easy to get to, and very close. The staff is very friendly. The food is good. They offer soup, an entree, and dessert. It's nice and balanced. My loved one gets a lot of attention. Everyone has been great. The place is very beautiful, it does not look like assisted living. They have a lot of memory activities daily, and my loved one goes to most of them.

Some of my loved ones things have turned up missing, and they are not always well shaved. We picked this community because, one community was unacceptable, and the other was ok but had too many add-on which would raise the cost per month. In speaking with Certus I felt it was the best solution overall and I still feel that way even with all the issues I mentioned before. Communication with families needs to improve.

I believe this is a beautiful community. They take great care in training their staff. It can be a difficult transition for the family and the loved one in moving into the community. They are good at supporting the family and our loved one during this transition. The community was able to assist us when things have popped up and handled it very well. It has been a good experience for us overall. Medication management is able to be handled by the community for our loved one. The community is able to be completly secure for the residents to roam the hallways. There is even a secured courtyard for my loved one to get fresh air. There are lots of activities for the residents to partake in. All the meals, housekeeping, linen changes, laundry, utilities, and the room are included in the monthly price. My loved one enjoys the food. The community does keep track to make sure the residents get the needed calories each day.

They are helpful and caring, it is important to have a good staff to resident ratio. The facility is very nice. Good size rooms and bathrooms. Lots of light. They need to increase staff to resident ratio.

It's a nice place but has its problems but the best. We picked this community because they can handle advanced dementia. They can improve on the tolieting, and and overseeing the patients. They were left alone too much.

Our family had an in-person tour and it was just not the first impression from the start so we knew it was not going to be the place for our loved one.

These ratings are indicative of the facility after the change of ownership/ management that occurred at the 2nd week my mother was there.

We had our own caretakers stay with our loved one. Thank god we did. They never answered call buttons for help. Didn't do anything they promised to do like wash our loved one x times per week, come get him for meals and check on him. We found staff sleeping on the sofa at night. We had to fight to get some if our money back when we pulled him out. There is much need for improvement.
