In short, they were amazing! All the way up until her passing on [date removed] She's with Jesus now so it's bittersweet! I'll see her again! Some of the things I liked about Autumn House West: Catered to her every need. Communicated with me and kept her privacy when people would call or visit. (They didn't tell anyone about her dementia, had to ask me her POA) . Clean rooms! . Internet for their gizmos and gadgets... Plenty of activities! She was a Bingo queen! Made lots of friends even though she was only there for 8 months; the staff practically forced her to participate once she was settled in! Haha! It took almost 2 months but she "surrendered" and ended up really enjoying herself! They were compassionate about her every need. Frequent trips for the residents to do. Residents (as long as not a "flight risk") would have freedom to walk to the stores downtown. (CVS, dollar general, local shops!). Left her alone if she wanted. Allowed cell phones and iPads and most creature comforts we take for granted. Lastly, it didn't smell bad! ANYWHERE. [name removed] is running an amazing place.

5 for all categories - Very helpful staff and clean buildings that smell nice. The apartment sizes and amenities offered are great. I highly recommend Care Cardinal Byron Center.

My loved one was previously a resident at Autumn House East. This was a great place for her.

Vintage Knolls is doing a great job of taking care of my aunt. She can be difficult to deal with, but they take the time to care for her well. The staff is friendly and professional. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents engaged.

The staff has been wonderful. As I walk through the facility I hear them in the residents rooms. They are caring and empathetic. When I visit my husband they make a point of saying hello and tell me how he's doing. They've been responsive to any concerns. This goes for the administration as well. The facility is clean. The move in process was easy. I haven't had the food but my husband quite often mentions how good the food is. I would recommend this facility to others.

They're on and off short staffed, so sometimes there's a wait for things. No bad effects that I've noticed. There are special treats (snow cones, cookies, etc.) most afternoons. The head nurse, who's responsible for everyday care, is a Rockstar. The facility is right next door to a Geisinger medical center -- very convenient. The visiting doctor is caring and competent. I think it helps my aunt that there are all kinds of residents mixed in around the facility -- it's not just a memory care facility.

Care Cardinal is a great facility for your loved one. We recently moved from the [removed]. It’s beautiful to tour but once you’re in the facility you can see that they maintain their focus on their census and getting residents in the building instead of taking care of the ones they have.

The facility isn’t fancy and doesn’t have the modern amenities but what is included is what’s needed. They include things that the bigger chains do not. We can have any meal with mom and dad with a notice to the kitchen for free, they have rooms for reserve for any party for free, any drinks / transport / extra help for the room at no charge.

The facility is beautiful. It’s a homelike style setting without the modern twist. It’s welcoming, cottage like, homelike. The rooms are big and the new flooring placed throughout is wonderful. Can’t wait to see all the other renovations.

The staff are really engaged in the residents and care about their best interest. The facility is put together with the thoughts of aging in place truly means. The food has gotten a lot better but it would be nice for maybe a deli option available or a small cafe in the independent living.

Some staff definitely go above and beyond and give time and show they care to the individuals. The activities coordinator is great at keeping the individuals busy. The staff are why we chose this facility. My mom does not love the food, but her overall care is more important.

We couldn't be happier with The Gables of Canton community. They rate 5 for all questions. They have exceeded our expectations, and we are very comfortable that [name removed] is in such good hands.

The staff is great and always helpful. The housekeeping is fine. When needed, communication with the family is good. The move in went without a hitch. I don't hear any complaints about the food, so guess it is okay.

After researching multiple facilities with memory care I decided to have my stepdad be cared for at the Gables of Canton. It was the right decision. Dealing with a fall risk dementia patient is not easy, but the aids/nurses were able to give my Stepdad the care he needed. If you are looking for a place that can deal with fall risk dementia patient.... then I would recommend the Gables of Canton.

Gables of Canton is lovely. Our initial needs were met. We stayed for 2 months, Our family was in between caregivers, and we were able to get a room within a week. Exceptional management. We loved the Activities. Loved bowling. Good desserts. Lovely place for senior who has a need for minor assistance and we would recommend to others.

My now-94-year-old mom has lived at Samaritas for over three years. After a while she transitioned from her independent-living apartment into an assisted-living apartment in another wing, which continues to be a great place for her. The staff has been kind, caring, sweet, friendly and professional. The other residents have also been friendly, kind and supportive to mom offering help and friendly interaction with mom. Organized activities are frequent and enjoyable. In warm weather mom loves sitting outside on one of the patios or, more frequently these days, on the back deck overlooking the back pond. I find the support staff and the nursing office to be pleasant, caring and responsive to my inquiries and concerns. Samaritas is a lovely place for both independent seniors and those who need more assistance. In all, mom is very pleased with her living situation. I encourage you to give Samaritas a close look if you are shopping for an elderly-friendly place to live.

What our family likes the most about the Autumn House East community are the staff members working there. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

I am very pleased with the care at Care Cardinal. Their staff has been very supporrtive and goes above and beyond for the care of my mother.

My husband and I moved here for his needs and I couldn't help alone. He passed away in May 2023. I am staying as an 84 year old resident (future needs).

I have researched many Assisted Living facilities, first for my dad, who has since passed. The search was on for my brother, who needed more care than we could provide. The kindness and caring of the staff at Cardinal Kentwood is by far superior and heartwarming than any other Assisted Living care we have seen. They treat everyone like their own family! They really care!
