I thought the facility was rated four out of five stars. It seemed comfortable there seem to be a nice area for dining and in a good location. The person I took the visit ended up going there.

It’s a lovely setting

They’ve all been good except for one. My loved one doesn’t really participate in activities. When first was looking at it – I was impressed by how friendly and open the person who showed me around was and how the other people seemed to be willing to talk to me. The staff whenever we’ve had a problem they’re very willing to help find a solution, and for the most part very open to our concerns. I’m not impressed, but my loved one seems to like it. It’s a lovely setting and the courtyard is very nice, where people can sit and enjoy the sun.

Good Community

They are currently doing some upgrading and remodeling so you will have to look beyond that right now. They were the best price for what they had to offer. We went to visit it after A Place for Mom recommended it and we liked it. It was within out budget and was a smaller community. With it being smaller it provides a more home like feeling and does not feel overwhelming for our loved one. We are very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

large facility. Nice studio in assisted living with half wall to separate bed/living. Small kitchenette w/sink/cupboards. Bathroom has nice set up with low shower threshold and handheld - plenty of room. Mom would like the dining room - open. Memory care option down the road - smelled bad/hot/did not see actual room.

Ailey and staff very nice but was a little disapointed in the layout of semiprivate room. They also will be doing a major remodel/renovation this spring and didn't want mom to have to deal with all the odors, noise etc. Also smelled like urine but I am sure that would have been remedied with the updating. In A Residential Area

There were smells in the hall and it was just not that nice. The staff seemed very nice. We had dinner there. It was full kosher but it was quite tasty. My issue was, where do you go? It's just in a residential neighborhood so there wouldn't be anything around for my friend to walk to and do. Also, the smells in the hall were pretty strong.

Good Community

I do like the community but there are things that we don't like about it. They told us they have a driver and transportation but they are funny about it. It is difficult to get them; you have to setup the right time and location ahead of time. Just seems like they make it hard to use. The food could also be better, it is a little bland and they could use more of a variation.

Truewood by Merrill, Clovis

Honestly all I know is what my mother told me as I live in Boston. She said it was pleasant she had a nice room. She said food was good she was there for 3 months and was able to go home. Thank you for following up. My Mom would say 3 on staff attitude But it varies per individual. 5 for the room as per what I've been told by family I live in Boston so have no first hand knowledge. Food was generous helpings. Food was tiresome after a while. Sometimes good other times basic. Sounds unimaginative. However we are grateful that she had a nice safe place during an interim time in her journey

Review for The Farmstead at Dixon

Facility is nice and brand new and others always comment on it when they come through here. For the most part the staff is nice they have some good caregivers and some bad caregivers. The training leads a lot to be desired for them. The present executive director seems to be rather approachable. I've gone to him with a lot of concerns and he does his best I think to take care of them.

When we left they had activities person leave. Planned movies across the hall from my dad room never happened. My sister had to ask and after living there 4 months they figured how to operate movie so he finally see a movie. Assisted living was not something he could adjust to. My dad was there a total of 8 months. He grew tired of things that bugged him after a time. Menus not posted ahead of time. He got that weekly which made him happy. Excursions to casinos happened right before he left. He wished it could have been earlier. The place was nice just not what he wanted.

It was intrusive for him. It might not have been for others

I'll rate everything at a 3. It was my brother that lived at Truewood. He was only 69 years old and felt like he was in prison. He actually improved while he was there probably because he wanted to get out. but the care he received was intrusive. It was intrusive for him. It might not have been for others.

Our Experience

My dad wanted to see a movie in their state of the art home theater. I think it was the first time it was used. They had no idea how to operate sound or lighting had to keep door open. They were not advertising activities properly. Now they are posted daily. As the items frequently change. Due to lack of participation from residents. I do expect things to change but wonder why you have to complain to get improvement.

Review for Lake Park Senior Living

I wish I could rate this higher as Lake Park used to be a fuller service facility and is now just feels like a Room & Board facility. I get that it needed some updating under the new mgmt, but it feels rather cheap. We picked it because it was affordable and could improve the social interaction over the isolation of living alone.
