They were under the management as [community removed] . We chose them due to the care they gave the residents . Then they were bought out by Brookstone Terrace of Greensboro . They have been doing a good job thus far .

The staff was really friendly and nice. The facility was always clean and did not smell. I really liked the small memory care part and all of the doors had codes so no one could get out or in without it. Mom did not like the food because it was not my dad's cooking. But she really liked breakfast.

I would give them a 5 in all areas. I have eaten there, and the food is high quality. There are activities daily on site. They take field trips often. They assist the residents with any needs. They notify me anytime something has changed (even a cold). Doctors visit patients at least monthly and give me a report. I am pleased that they have a Memory Care section.

They love their residents! Mom was near death when we moved her there and now a year later she is thriving and just celebrated birthday number 98!

I would give 5's for all categories except 4 for food and 4 for activities. When my parents first moved there, there were occasional bus excursions, but they stopped, and my mom especially needed a change of scenery. I would add that the staff communication was amazing. And the love and compassion that all of the staff showed for both of my parents (even though my mom didn't appreciate it) was good for my soul.

Brookstone Terrace of Simpsonville was the 3rd facility my mother tried, and from the moment I took my first steps into the building I knew it was the right place for my mom. It is a clean and beautiful facility full of natural light, beautiful hardwood floors, and quite spacious common areas. All of the residential rooms are large and equipped with a lot of small features I did not expect (automatic lighting for the bathroom areas, furniture if you need it, a thermostat in each room, ect.) The fact that BST offers a mixed residential environment between those just needing assisted living and those experiencing dementia meant that my mother got to stay in the same place, her same room, with the same group of friends as her dementia progressed. This was both a blessing for her, and for myself as the consistent environment was a comfort to me as well. The activities program is amazing, and seemed to really provide something for everyone. My particular favorites were the crafts, as now I have many mementos made by my mother to display in my house. Keepsakes I will cherish forever! My mother's dementia developed alarmingly fast, and I felt I had a lot of support from staff to navigate and process all of the cognitive changes my mother was going through. Furthermore, when it became clear that hospice care would be the best decision for my mom--the Brookstone Terrace Hospice team was able to step in and provide care seamlessly. Mom did not have to move rooms or facilities. Keeping a consistent environment for her felt important and I knew it added to her overall comfort. The BST hospice team is just as wonderful as the regular staff--and both teams worked in unison together to provide around the clock care for my Mom, especially at the end of her journey. By being at Brookstone Terrace of Simpsonville so often over the past year, I have made deep connections with many of the staff. I feel I gained two sisters between [names removed]--as well as an honorary father (the chaplain [name removed], who I now call my South Carolina Dad.) I got to meet many of the other residents, as well as their families--making it feel like friends and family were around every corner. While heartbreaking to have lost my mom, I am so incredibly thankful for the dignity and quality of life Brookstone Terrace/Simpsonville worked hard to provide her. They truly took care of both of us--mother and daughter.

Area of concern: -Difficulty of keeping up with personal items--even with labels. However, the majority--99%-- staff really seemed to love what they were doing. They were cheerful (sweet nicknames, joking, singing), tactile (hugs, kisses, messing with hair) and expressed what looked like genuine care and love

Everyone who works at Carriage House has been kind, caring, informative, and attentive. My dad feels well cared for. This place feels homey rather than polished. Staff have been responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Dining staff have gone out of their way to accommodate all my dad’s dietary restrictions. The staff are taking the time to get to know my dad and seem to work together well. My dad was hesitant to move into assisted living but has found he’s happy there.

The director of the facility spent over an hour on the phone answering my questions on a Sunday afternoon. We frequently see the activity director on weekends spending time with residents. She has so many excellent activities planned for the residents.

Needless to say, we were very pleased with Brookstone Terrace! Nursing staff was awesome, whoever was available to help a Resident did so. Many times, a CNA not assigned to my father in-law gave him care. They Worked as a team. I worked in the geriatric health care setting for Over thirty years and never saw this!!
