Brookdale

Brookdale Cape May takes excellent care of my mom. This is a wonderful and caring place to be. The residents, staff and management all make this place extra special. Meals are great here also. Brookdale Cape May has special events that they personally cater. There is pride from staff and the events are top-notch for residents and family. I feel secure knowing my mom is in good hands and that is the best part of it.

My dad passed away [date removed] at Samaritan Hospital. Although Brookdale East was very nice, my dad's needs were greater than they could manage. When assessing Brookdale, though they told us they provided a higher level of care (enhanced) than other assisted living facilities (such as the the Eddy Hawthorne, where my dad had been, but was a safety risk after multiple falls). Once at Brookdale my dad ended up falling 3 times while there (once because he escaped and made it 1/2 mile down Rt.7) - he was there maybe a total of 3-4 weeks. On his third fall at Brookdale, while at Samaritan, Brookdale still wanted him back, although at that point it was clear my dad needed a skilled nursing facility/memory care facility. So, as much as Brookdale East was clean, the food good, the staff lovely, they seemed hungry for a private pay resident - overlooking the fact that their services were inadequate for my dad's quickly declining state.

The energy friendliness and relayed atmosphere attracted me the first time I visited. All staff are trained well and perform their duties well. The meals are good and the activities are appropriate. As my loved one' needs have increased. The staff have responded well. The facility specialize in dementia residents.

Excellent communication, friendly staff , clean

There is one staff member named [name removed] that goes over and beyond. She takes residents for drives and plans lots of activities and is very caring and engaged. My mother in law has severe memory loss but she really enjoys engaging with the health workers, probably more than the other residents. We like that Brookdale can accommodate people in various levels of functioning. Also nice to see some people in end stages that could easily be in a nursing home. Her only complaint is the food. She is Vegan and can't eat most of the food. She likes the cereal for breakfast but doesn't eat much after that. She relies on peanuts and raisins which [name removed] keeps in her room. [name removed]also thought it would be nice if there was a dispensary where they could buy some basics, like toiletries, snacks, etc. The cost could be added to her monthly bill. On a personal note, my wife and I discussed the abundant use of Styrofoam cups. They are toxic to drink out of and take thousands of years to degrade in land fills. A paper alternative would be more environmentally friendly. My mother in law loves it there and we highly recommend. The items I mentioned are minor.

The staff and service at Brookdale Camino Del Sol are the highest quality. I gave no doubt that each staff member gives the same care to my mom that they would give to their own. Activities are varied and entertaining. Support for family member is outstanding. We all feel part of an amazing community of care and support.

Interpersonal relationship between staff/and staff residents are outstanding willingness to lesson, help each other out without being asked going above and beyond completing this job describing. Caring attitudes and maintain relationship and very open communication.

My mom has been staying at Brookdale since January. The staff has been so accommodating to mom and her needs. The staff kept in touch before and after the recent storm. It was very comforting to know mom was safe and in a caring environment.

About 3 1/2 years we moved our 90-year-old parents into Brookdale Assisted Living in Wayne, NJ. It was close to us so we could visit every day. They enjoyed making new friends, the entertainment, special events, and parties, dining (especially home made soup every lunch time) and of course BINGO. After we lost Dad, we moved Mom into the memory care unit in the same building. There we found exceptional caregiving. The girls treat the residents with patience, kindness, compassion, and they are always singing and making them laugh. I am very comfortable knowing I can go on vacation and Mom will be very well taken care of. It’s definitely a “ peace of mind”. [name removed] is in charge of the memory care, a perfect person for the job. Brookdale is run by two competent women, [name removed] and [name removed] who will cater to all your needs. At the front deck is a very welcoming woman named Lori who will assist you in any way she can. You should check this place out, it’s very attractive and clean.

The entire staff is the friendliest, politest and most efficient group I could have ever imagined. Any and every request has been handled with superb courteous professionalism. Seriously, I am not a person that hands out compliments unless they are truly deserved. I have never encountered a group of people so deserving of high praise.

Brookdale has been a great place for mom to make her home and remain at the shore. The staff is extremely helpful and communicates any concerns with the family. Knowing medical experts are on duty 24/7 has been a huge relief with parents in their 90's

The best we chose Brookdale because it felt like home. Bit the staff is really what makes it that way. Caring, kind, empathetic and always gave loving care to my husband. Thank you!

We chose Brookdale Wilmington because of the location, Admissions Mgr(she is no longer there now), care for patients with Dementia Very professional, friendly personnel. Only downfall is they are a VERY pricey facility.

We received a complete package and explanation of the entire program and when we had questions they were addressed immediately and complete. Having been Florida residents and moving back to Cape May NJ we needed to up-date estate documents and were given excellent suggestions on dealing with this issue. Brookdale also was very helpful in assisting us with the purchase of apartment contents and incidentals. I strongly recommend Brookdale.

I toured a lot of facilities for my mom before settling on Brookdale Wayne. There was a lot to compare. Brookdale Wayne may not be the fanciest place on the block, it’s certainly not the newest, something my family and I struggled with when making our decision. But the warmth and genuine care we received from everyone we just knew this was where mom belonged. It just felt right. We have not been disappointed once. The girls that care for my mom are exceptional. She’s always clean and dressed. She’s happy and engaged. It’s been a very positive experience. I’m confident that she’s safe and cared for which makes me happy but also content.

My dad has been here at Brookdale Ormond Beach West for 6 months now. They take very good care of him, and we are happy with this community and the safety it provides for him. They have fun events for families to get involved. The staff is very pleasant and interact with residents and family. We are happy to have found this community.

[name removed] was a great host and does a terrific job in sales. We had a wonderful time a family night tonight with great music, great food and more. Event took place on stormy night The spirit was like a hurricane party. So happy

Great Place to live my Dad tells me. When I come to visit him, staff is welcoming and friendly. Residents are nice and everyone says hello. Glad I moved my dad here from AZ.

Always a great experience with staff. Management and staff always have a smile and going above and beyond for our residents. Parties are great and so happy to share these news with our whole family and friends.
