Avalon Memory Care

After considering other assisted living facilities, we moved our 93-year-old parent to Avalon Memory Care. [names removed] and all of the staff are so warm and caring. They are well-trained and friendly, particularly the front desk which keeps track of residents and visitors. The large living room on the first floor near the dining room and cafe is ideal because it feels like people are busy living. The beautiful backyard is welcoming. They really encourage families to visit by planning family-friendly events.

The decision one makes to remove a loved one from a safe, controlled environment at home and into a new and strange one is a tough decision to make. It is also, frequently, done at a desperate time. We are extremely grateful for the gentle, thoughtful, and proactive care Avalon has given my father during his time with them as well as the friendship and love that the staff also generously extended to our family.

I couldn't found a better place for my dad. They were kind and loving to him always. His needs were taken of completely during his time there. I could not recommend them any more highly! This was a great place!

My father was happy and always well-kept and clean and most of all safe. All the employees were happy doing their jobs with purpose. They engaged with dad and made him laugh. I witnessed them always being kind and gentle and patient. In addition, Dad was well fed with their deliciously prepared food.

My grandmother spent her final days at Avalon and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to care for her. The caregivers are attentive and kind, and many of them have been with Avalon for years. If you are looking for a place to love on you and your family in a season that is inevitably difficult, Avalon is a wonderful choice.

My mom recently passed after spending 6 years at Avalon Memory Care at McKinney Ranch, McKinney, TX. The folks at Avalon have always been wonderful to my mom. She was in a safe and loving environment. I would highly recommend Avalon to anyone.

Avalon Memory Care has been great for us and takes great care of my father. They've taken care of everything and watched carefully. It's wonderful that they can arrange any necessary doctor visits. I work outside the city during the week so it's difficult for me to handle any such arrangements myself. My aunt also appreciates how well my dad is being cared for.

I recently had the need to look for a care facility for an ailing friend. I was referred to Avalon Memory Care and what a nice surprise I found. The facility was clean, and bright and had a very upbeat and professional staff. The staff are so positive and gentle and give each resident the individual care they require. The activities director is continually looking for stimulating activities for the residents - in just two weeks my friend has participated in flower arranging, exercise class, dancing, and sing-a-longs with a live piano player. It feels wonderful to know that she is being so well cared for. I would highly recommend this facility to any family looking for a wonderful, caring, facility for their loved one with dementia.

Since the new management took over, the improvements at Avalon Memory Care have been remarkable. The facility now feels like a second home, especially thanks to the incredible caregivers, Gabriel and Raymundo. Their kindness, love, and genuine care for the patients are evident in everything they do. They treat each resident as if they were their own grandparents, creating an environment of warmth and compassion that is truly unique. Gabriel and Raymundo's dedication makes Avalon Memory Care stand out as an exceptional memory care facility. Highly recommended!

We would rate a 5 for all categories! We are happy with the care! The staff did a wonderful job! They were friendly and helpful! He was always clean. They took very good care of him! He loved the music when it played in the dining room. They did a phenomenal job with Thanksgiving! We have no complaints at all! It was a good sign that there is no staff turnover since he started there.

Avalon has so many ways to support your family during so many difficult decisions and care. [name removed]and many employees within Avalon go beyond just doing “their job” and truly seek to support families and bring true care to patients in the Avalon facilities.

Fourteen months ago it became apparent, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and having had a hip replacement, that we would need to find a care facility for our dad. After visiting several places, we chose Avalon. That was the best decision we ever made! Though dad was often very difficult, the caregivers ([name removed], [name removed], [name removed] and more) continued to love him as their own father/grandfather. Not only did he receive excellent care and attention, but our family was cared for as well. One week ago today, dad had a neurological event which caused him to decline very rapidly. My heart was touched and I was brought to tears as I watched caregiver after caregiver quietly walk into his room, gently touch or kiss his forehead or cheek, and speak loving words over him. He passed away yesterday having been well loved by his Avalon family. I cannot recommend Avalon highly enough.

Mom spent the final 8 months of her life in Avalon Memory Care in Allen. The staff was great. There was rarely a day that my brother or I did not come by and they were always friendly to us and did their best to make Mom comfortable and happy. We really appreciated them for everything they did.

It was my privilege to have my sweet wife [name removed] under your care from [date removed]. While it certainly was not in our plans for this to happen, Avalon came to us through what I am convinced was divine intervention. She certainly preferred to be at home, but hospice care through Allstar was required, and the constant attention and compassion she received while she was there was beyond reproach. I came to visit her every day for the 22 days she was there, and I was by her side in the early morning hours of [date removed] when the Lord called her Home. I am weeping while I'm writing this, but I again thank you for everything.

Avalon Memory Care home was a godsend in the worst time of our lives. They cared for my father like he was their own for the last year of his life. They were very communicative and available to us for questions and support. Highly recommend Avalon if you find yourself in the position to need dementia care services.

Avalon in Lewisville, TX provided excellent care for my family member the last two years of his life. The staff was attentive and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place for care for your loved one.

Our family had a wonderful experience with Avalon-from the initial tour until the day we left. Lock and her staff provided information when we asked questions, communicated with us frequently, and addressed concerns when we had them. The staff loved on my dad, even when he wasn't very loveable! It is a small, well-maintained facility. I highly recommend.

My brother and i are so thankful we found Avalon Memory Care. Our mother was in another facility prior to Avalon Memory Care. The prior facility was a horrible nightmare. Avalon Memory Care is the opposite. The manager [name removed] and the entire staff is wonderful, they're very helpful and kind to all of the residents., it is always clean, and we have no problem reaching them. All of Mom's physical needs are met on a daily basis, they take very good care of her.

I cannot say enough good things about the care that my husband received at Avalon Memory Care Center in Allen. When he entered Avalon, he barely remembered me and became nonverbal and in a wheel chair. The staff always treated him with dignity. He was fed, bathed, shaved and clothed. The family could visit often and bring special treats or special meals. He could sit in the comfortable lounge chairs in the common room and enjoy TV, music and other residents. Birthdays and special occasions were always celebrated for everyone. When the time came, hospice care was available at Avalon. I could not have cared for him so well by myself. He was especially fond of the director who spoke at his service for which I am grateful.

Making the decision to place my mother in residential memory care was the hardest thing I think I have ever done. But living at Avalon has been the best thing for her at this stage of her life. [name removed] and her team of caring staff work tirelessly to make this a home for Mom and the other residents. Not only do I know Mom is safe, but I also know she is happy. Caring for someone with dementia requires boundless patience, unwavering understanding...and a sense of humor! Many thanks to the caregivers in Allen for the difference you make in the lives of others. You are amazing!
