Ascension Living

We chose Ascension Living Via Christi Village because of the chapel and they have daily masses. The cleanliness of the facility, and the size of the rooms were the biggest factors. I have eaten here myself and the food is cafeteria style, my dad does mention that there is not a whole lot of variety. Overall, it is just a nice facility and they are very responsive when we have concerns or issues that arise. Overall, I would recommend.

We looked at a couple of others places and chose Providence Village because of the upkeep of the facility, the food was good, and the value for your money. The best part about the community so far has been the activities that they provided before the COVID shut down. We are now able to go in and visit her after the protocols, but we are not locked out anymore. I would absolutely recommend this facility. The manager goes out of his way to help families and residents.

My Dad is in Independent Living. They are very easy to work with they treat the residents with respect as independent adults. They have a lot of services and amenities. The food is good. They have done a good job keeping people safe during Covid-19. They are doing a good job keeping families informed.

This community is like home. Friends and location are a definite plus. Price and meal program also influenced my decision to come here.

Great! Reasonable rates- good food- great residents - great entertainment. Great location, outside the great city of Chicago, IL. Great weather - not too hot not too cold, etc.

This is a good place to live. I have lived here 4 years. The staff is most helpful.

The food is good. The service is just outstanding and the residents and staff are very great!

This was the nicest of the places we visited. Rooms are average size, but the high ceilings makes it feel bigger. Closets were a bit small. For my mom, the amount of care needed would not fit her budget at this place. They do charge for every thing they provide - laundry, bathing, dressing, etc. were all extra.

The staff at Casa San Carlo is very friendly and most accommodating. They treat the residence with dignity and care. The only complaint my aunt [Name removed] has had is that she cannot control her own thermostat. It is very small and the numbers are an able to be read easily. Other than that, my aunt is happy in her apartment, in fact she loves her apartment.

My mother did not think she would find a place to live that had everything she wanted: clean, friendly, active, full amenities, daily church, good food - when we toured Casa, my mother immediately said that she did not to look any further - she actually cried, because she couldn't believe she found all of this for a price she could afford! Now that she has been there 6 months, she is still very happy with her choice, has made new friends, and tells me that she is 'as busy as I want to be'!

Very nice community setting with a beautiful Catholic chapel. Impressed by how happy the residents seemed, how welcoming [Removed] was, and how the residents all knew [Removed] and how she was able to greet them all by name. This definitely remains on our list of possibilities.

I like the people here very much. They’re all lovely and very friendly. I like all the activities and the exercise program. The food is adequate and sometimes good. There’s a plated meal at lunch and a bigger meal at night. They have a menu with plenty of options that you can choose from and you can eat as much as you want. It has many advantages and I like the fact that they have an assisted living area, a nursing home (which I’ve heard is very nice), and a hospice area for long term care. Just this week, we’re having a big Christmas party where we can invite up to 4 guests and the community is taking care of all of it! I haven’t lived here long, but I’ve heard very positive things from the other residents that have been here much longer. One thing I don’t like is the lighting isn’t great in my room and the kitchen isn’t something that I’m accustomed to, it’s actually more of a kitchenette. But I’m happy with the actual size of the room. Overall, I like it here and I like the people.

My sister and I were trying to find a good place for our mom to live when we found Via Christi. It seemed like a good fit almost right away. We had opportunities to look at other places but most of them were too expensive and some of them I didn’t get a good feeling for from the people I talked to on the phone. So when we found this place, it felt right. The staff seems to treat the residents well; they seem to communicate well and are knowledgeable about what they’re doing. Mom doesn’t like the food much, but I think that’s more of a personal preference than anything else. The facility itself seems to be a very clean place. One thing that bothers me, though, is that you sometimes have to pay extra for some services that seem to be included in the price at other places. For example, we will have to pay extra to have maintenance hang some of my mom’s pictures on the wall. There are plenty of activities for the residents to do and they’ve got a pretty good community room that they have a lot of them in, like bingo and local entertainers. They’ll take the residents out on field trip to the grocery store, shopping, and even to the casino, but I think you have to have a little more independence to be able to do that. Overall, I would recommend them to others.

The tour was very good at the Via Christi Village Ridge. The staff was friendly and they did a good job letting us know what they could provide for our loved one. We chose another community that was a better fit for our budget.

My mother is in good hands here in this community. This is a great community, and she is doing great with her move here. I feel comfortable with the care she is being provided with. The staff is very helpful, and always kind whenever I visit. I'am pleased with all they have done for our family.

I had a very nice tour of this community. Everyone was kind to my family, and I. The staff was friendly, and answered any questions we had. The community looked very well-kept. The location was just to far for us to travel, but my tour went very well overall.

My mom stayed here for a while and the staff were very pleasant and we had no problems with food. They have church and concerts but I did not notice any activities. They were on top of being cold and there were no bad smells
