I would want others to know that the process to get her in here was very simple and polite. The staff members made it very easy and it is a great place. They are doing a great job with my mom. They set up face-time every week during the pandemic so I can see her. I would absolutely recommend.

Home Away From Home

My first experience was my mom sharing she met a lovely woman. [name removed]. [name removed] gave me a tour of The Arbors after my mom felt this was where she wanted to live after my dad passed. [name removed] was professional, kind, understanding, gentle and took time to meet my moms needs. The Arbors is really a home away from home. I requested that my mom be at a meal table that would be suited for her. Done!!! I requested that if they can keep an extra eye at the beginning since my mom was anxious. Done!!! The workers/angels truly care about the residents/family members. [names removed] ( a nickname for a worker by my mother ) [names removed] are just a few of the staff members that are amazing. There are so many more. Dropping of clothes to snacks no matter what I am greeted with a smile and thankful that my mother has found a place that she feels same. Move in day: Forgot to change the heat in the room. Mentioned it on the way out. Woman says dont worry we check on all residents every 2 hours. [name removed] was clocked out but offered to go back and make my mom comfortable. Not many workers go above and beyond but at the Arbors maybe they are really just angels disguised as workers. There is no other place!!!!

Dad’s Home Sweet Home

Moving a parent into an assisted living is an emotional and life-changing experience, filled with sleepless nights, second guessing, and endless behind-the-scenes legwork. But the staff at the Arbors of Hauppauge made the transition for my dad seamless. He moved in at the end of January, and despite all of the uncertainties going on in our world at the moment, my dad is safe, well-cared for, and happy. It is the biggest piece of mind I could ask for. My first contact was a phone call with [name removed]. [name removed] patiently listened to my dad’s story, answered all of my questions, gave me tips, gentle advice, and explained the next steps that followed. On Tour Day, [name removed] took us through the Arbors of Hauppauge’s beautiful and spacious facility, and all it had to offer. It was impressive to say the least. But it wasn’t the building that led us to our decision. It was the communal energy of the people within its walls. The staff was nurturing and bubbly towards both the residents, and each other. The residents were friendly, and happy, and shared pieces of their own journeys with my husband and I. I could have sat and chatted with them for hours. Several ended our brief visit with, “I hope your dad will come.” From there, we met the Wellness director, [name removed], who has since moved on, yet still deserves to be praised. My dad’s move was delayed when he fell and broke his hip, days before discharging from the Nursing Home. We were devastated, but for over two months, [name removed] visited him, and kept contact with us, and helped to lift our spirits until dad was finally able to move. My dad’s move in day was on [date removed], and to my delight, he didn’t want to stay in his beautiful room decorated with all of his favorite things. Instead, he opted to go to “Happy Hour” and it most definitely was. We had root beer floats - one of his favorite’s - and met [name removed], who my dad loves to pieces. He played Scrabble with [names removed] - who became his friends, and who he dances with at parties. Since that day, we’ve met so many wonderful people... [names removed]... the care, recreation, housekeeping, and front desk teams. Every last person is patient, friendly, and willing to help and answer any questions. We are in the midst of a pandemic, and visits with my dad fluctuate between limited and prohibited. But my dad is safe, well-cared for, and happy. And for this, I am content, and grateful to the angels at the Arbors of Hauppauge.

Caring staff and comfortable place!

After seeing a few different Assisted Living homes, we picked The Arbors for the best layout for my dad. His love of the outdoors and plants was fulfilled with a patio right out his back door and the guided walks outdoor around the building after exercise class. Dad is impressed how every staff member is friendly and helpful. They offer good recreation options and he really likes the food. It was a difficult transition getting him comfortable there but the staff was helpful and supportive to all of us, they answered phone calls and concerns and tried different ways to help him adjust. It has been difficult but we’re happy with our choice and feel grateful for the wonderful care our dad receives.

Very welcoming and friendly place!

The Arbors community is a very fun and caring place, the admissions person was just fantastic, she is very caring and very welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable, they come fully furnished with five items, or you can use your own furniture. You can also choose to have a roommate or have a room to yourself. The chef is just fantastic, he is truly a great guy and he makes delicious food. During COVID the staff has really done the best they can to keep the residents active and engaged.

Friendly, Happy Atmosphere

I would highly recommend the community. I looked at one other place and they were almost twice the amount of money. This community is friendly and has community atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. It seemed very nice. The only problem my loved one has is that she is bored, since no can visit her. The food has been very good according to my loved one.

I would definitely recommend

We chose the Arbors at Hauppauge because it was more conducive for my aunts lifestyle, this was a smaller community. The price in comparison to some of the others we visited was very nice. She has a single room and they are pretty decently sized for one person. She is very happy with the food, there are always hot and cold options. They also have happy hour with snacks, ice cream, etc. I would highly recommend this community.

My review of the Arbors

We chose the Arbors at Westbury because we liked the layout, they have a nice great room. We also needed a more economical place, and also the location, he was closer to me. The rooms here are smaller, but he is very happy. He says the food is hit or miss. I would recommend this community.

Great Option for Older Relatives Looking to Stay Active

I'm so grateful that we found The Arbors. My grandmother had recently passed away, and my grandfather was struggling living without her. At first we were apprehensive, as no one in my family had any experience with assisted living - but it was ultimately a great decision. The staff is incredible - so kind and patient. My grandfather was initially very homesick, but they helped him to integrate into the community. They were always quick to help and very friendly. There were also always activities for the residents to participate in. My grandfather was a very social individual - and this was probably the most important factor in picking a place for him to live. Part of the reason why we choose the Arbors is because they have such a good activity program. They have both structured events for the residents to participate in, and amenities that they could use at any time. The facility itself is very nice. We were afraid it would be medical, but it's actually quite the opposite. It's decorated as a normal home would be - there's even a few different lobby areas where we were able to comfortably visit with him. I cannot recommend the Arbors enough - especially for families with an older relative who enjoys socializing and staying active.

The Arbors At Bohemia

They were wonderful with my dad. The community always looked and smelled clean. The nursing director was very communicative with us about my dad's care and was always willing to talk to us and answer our questions. The care giving staff was also very patient. They did a good job with keeping my father busy and included him in activities. Absolutely a good value for the price, especially when considering other communities in the area.

Compassionate Care

For having over 100 people there they really make you feel important like you are the only one they are talking to whenever you call or have a question. They have great communication. The food is great. You can't beat the price compared to others in the area. They have really been on top of things with with the virus quarantine. The speed at which they attend to your loved one and the care is amazing. My mom did have a fall and cut her head and had to go to the hospital during this quarantine time and the doctor and staff from The Arbors were great. The doctor from The Arbors was on top of it and got her out of the hospital as soon as possible.

We Love IT!!!

My mother has been a resident of the Arbors for several months now, as soon as we scheduled our tour of the facility my mother could not wait to go back! Never having experience with a Memory Care Facility, the Arbors was the last facility for us to visit, I knew instantly this was exactly what my mother needed. The staff were friendly and attentive, activities were taking place for residents who want to join and quiet time was respected for those who chose to view from afar. Each time I call to check on how my mother's day is going, I am pleasantly surprised as to how much stimulation she is getting throughout the day. It is heartwarming to receive photos / videos of my mother interacting with other residents, these are things I do not get to see on my regular visits. I am happy to recommend the Arbors and feel blessed to know my mother not only has her family to love, but her extended Arbors family too..

Arbors in Bohemia, nothing better than this

We had to move my Mother in law back from Fl. quickly in Sept 2019 at 93 years old. It was a very difficult time for all of us. As a RN I wanted nothing but the best care for her. From the moment we walked in I was at complete ease. [Name removed] never walked by on resident without saying hello, how are we doing with your care, lunch etc. From [name removed] comes a standard that all his staff follows. Respect and Kindness. Mom passed away in Jan. 2020 I wish she had more time at this wonderful place. She was so happy and we will be forever grateful. Although I wish I knew all your names, from the from the cleaning staff, receptionist, care personal and everyone else there, You all did a wonderful job. Thank you all! Sincerely The [name removed] Family

A Great Place for Dad

?My dad only moved into the Arbors of Hauppauge a little over a week ago, but my husband and I have been interacting with the incredible Care Team since late October. It has been a positive and reassuring experience for all of us. My first contact was over the phone with [name removed]. [name removed] took the time to listen to my dad’s ‘journey’, answer my numerous questions, and go over what to expect during the next several steps. She knew we would be touring the other Arbors, and spoke positively of all the facilities. [Name removed] gave me tips and gentle advice to avoid being overwhelmed during our visits. She had our best interest in mind for this very difficult decision we were about to make for my dad’s unexpected new home and lifestyle. My gut told me Hauppauge would be the place for my dad - despite that we hadn’t yet toured one facility. Tour Day came and within minutes of witnessing [name removed] caring and bubbly interaction with the residents - as well as, positive feedback from the residents, themselves - there was so much communal energy, we knew we’d made our choice. From there, we met [name removed], who visited my dad in the nursing home - not once, but several times after he was delayed from discharging due to falling and breaking his hip. For over two months, she lifted not only my dad’s spirits, but ours as well, by keeping constant contact with us the whole time during dad’s heart-wrenching set back. Please note, we hadn’t even given a deposit at this point in time, and I had continued to cross-reference Hauppauge’s reliability with other elder care sources. Following [name removed] and [name removed], was [name removed]. [name removed]smoothly continued where the others left off. She answers our every question and concern immediately and thoroughly with personal professionalism. In the short time my dad’s been there, we’ve met so many others...[names removed], the care, recreation, and housekeeping teams, and every last person at the front desk. All have been cheerful and patient, always happy to stop, chat, guide, and reassure us. Moving a parent into an assisted living is an emotional and life-changing experience, filled with sleepless nights, second guessing, and endless behind-the-scenes legwork. Though I don’t know what my dad’s future will be, I can honestly say that the Arbors of Hauppauge is a beautiful facility and offers everything your loved one will need. But that’s just the surface. It’s the hearts on the inside that count. Go meet the staff. Talk to the residents. And then you’ll understand our choice.

BEST PLACE TO LIVE!

Our mom chose to go into assisted living in June 2019. She chose the arbors of Hauppauge. The family could not be any happier. Our mom, since she got there adapted very well. She met some new friends & is kept busy daily with their list of exciting activities. In the warm weather they have a beautiful outdoor patio & grounds where they can go out & take in the fresh air. They take care of everything! They food menu has many choices. They do the laundry, they control medication if you choose, clean the rooms and provide clean towels. There is phone service included. BEST OF ALL IS THE STAFF! The staff are pleasant and very helpful. We are so thankful that we found this amazing assisted living!

The best place to be

This was the the hardest decision for our family to make especially during the holidays but this was the best decision we have made. We came to the point where we realized mom was home alone watching the hrs go by. This was not the quality of life that we wanted for mom. We searched many assisted livings and found them to be cold, lifeless and unfriendly. Then there was The Arbors of Hauppauge! We came through the doors a few minutes early the receptionist greeted us with a warm smile and directed us a room to get warmed up and get a cup of coffee. We could not help but notice the beautiful holiday decorations everywhere it made it feel so warm and cozy, just like home. The residents were engaged in their lobby with games, an art class on the first floor and poker upstairs. We just knew our mom would love it here and she does. She has already made friends I can never reach my mom by phone during the day because she is in her words too busy with her activities. At night she calls me with an update of all the things she did. My family and I are so happy we are so comforted to know mom is enjoying her senior years. P.S. the staff is also awesome .. kudos to all !
