I've had a good experience so far with The Arbors at Islandia. everyone is so receptive when I call in and they all seem to care for my loved one. It's been a good, positive experience so far. my dad has been a bit hesitant on joining activities - due to some memory related issues - but from what I can see online, they do seem to offer a lot. overall, so far so good. [name removed], our senior living advisor with a place for Mom has been amazing! I see it as fate that she answered my call the day I called into a Place for Mom. my loved one needed care in New York and it just so happened that [name removed] lived in the same area as the communities we were looking into. not only did she know the area well, but she also provided insight on location, landmarks, etc. all from her own firsthand experience. our family reached out to a Place for Mom during a really difficult transition. Thanks to [name removed] for going above and beyond!

We chose The Arbors at Bohemia because we thought it might be a good transitional place between rehab and when he had to go back to the hospital for surgery. They were also the most responsive and we have now signed a contract with them. They have been so great with communication, especially with me living further away. I would recommend to others looking as long as it fits your needs.

My grandma moved into The Arbors at Islandia East about a year ago and the whole family can't believe how well she's adjusted. She has always been the pickiest eater and raves about how good the food is. She's a very social person, and after my grandpa passed away I could tell she was lonely. When I would visit her our conversations used to be about how her friends had passed away. Now the conversation has shifted to how funny all of her new friends are. She signs up for every trip offered through recreation and is visiting places she never would have in the past. When she's not on a trip she is either playing cards, bingo, or enjoying a bbq in the courtyard. Our family gets together for Sunday dinners and some weekends she's been skipping out because she'd rather be at The Arbors. The staff is wonderful and great at communicating any issues that come up with her care. We could not be happier and can relax knowing Grandma is in good hands. Highly recommend!!

My mom has lived in the Arbors for 3 years, she loved it since the day she moved it. My dad passed away 10 months before, and she was very lonely. The Arbors in Hauppauge was the best thing that ever happened to her. She has made so many friends there & the staff is amazing, like family! From the moment you walk in it feels like home, it's very clean, they decorate and celebrate every occasion so its always festive, and fun to be there. They have activities at least 5 to 6 days a week to stimulate their minds and keep them social and active. they have parties with live music, (my mom loves to dance) they take them out shopping, restaurants, parks, etc. When you walk in you're always greeted with a smile from everyone who works there! I know we made the right choice when my mom would rather stay at the Arbors with her friends then go out to lunch with me! We looked at other places, but to tell you the truth, the Arbors was the Best one by far and the most affordable too!

We had an amazing tour experience with The Arbors. The staff were so accommodating and did not rush us and answered all of the questions that we had, she even stayed late. They really focus on individualized care and put the patient first and truly care about them getting the best care possible. They thought my dad would be a better fit at their sister facility, so that is the direction that we went.

We chose The Arbors because when we went to tour, the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The facility is clean and bright. They had more of a family model and put the patient first for a more individualized experience. They offer a lot and that makes it convenient for families. Staff are very responsive and always available, even the director came in on his day off and gave us the tour. He was very gentle with my dad and you can tell that he genuinely cares. From a care perspective, they are always looking out for his well-being and being proactive. I would highly recommend them to others looking.

The Arbors at Westbury was an absolute GODSEND when it came to finding assisted living for my 91 year old Dad after he was released from rehab and I realized that he could not go back to living at his home. The staff at The Arbors explained all aspects re: the living arrangements and lifestyle that my Dad could expect which put my mind at ease. Peace of mind is a huge component where the issue of assisted living is concerned, both for the resident and for the family of the resident; the staff at The Arbors were very detailed in all of their explanations and gave me clear direction as to how to proceed. What was most evident to me about The Arbors is how content the residents are and how truly friendly, kind and generous the entire staff is; I could not have asked for anything better for my Dad.

It's really like going on a cruise. Everything is included. I would definitely recommend the place. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. My family member tells me they take good care of her. Most of the time she's pleased the food. She likes the activities. I think it's a great value, especially compared to the last place she was at.

Dear [name removed[ and [name removed], Just a heartfelt Thank You for your patience and understanding in guiding me through the process of getting my mother into The Arbors Assisted Living at Hauppauge. It's only Day 4 - but already we hear the joy and contentment in Mom's voice as she describes her day. She speaks fondly of all the festive decorations, the variety of food, the fun activities ( eg. Musical Magic with [name removed] and [name removed]). She adores all the members of the staff- she finds them friendly, supportive and kind. She was appreciative of the maintenance man who hung up her (new) TV. I am thrilled that my mom is settling in and that she loves her new home. I am at PEACE with my decision. I will continue to be your biggest cheerleader. I have told all my co-workers about the warm and inviting feeling you get when you enter Arbors at Hauppauge.

The staff are absolutely wonderful and friendly. They really care about the people who live here. It is truly a community. My sister was very resistant to this change and within an very limited time she is happy and I don't have to worry about her falling or not taking her medication. I am no longer worried about the quality of life because she has great care here.

We were very impressed with our tour of The Arbors, it seemed like a great place. The only reason we decided against them was because the location was too far.

They could not be more caring or helpful or patient. Everyone that I have encountered there is wonderful, the entire staff. They have activities like exercise classes, themed events, games and daily activities to keep the residents engaged.

We had a great tour with The Arbors, the only downfall is that they do not offer memory care at this location.

They were great across the board. I would highly recommend them. The staff are great. They have lots of activities, and they've provided good care to my loved one. The facility is clean. The only problem is they don't accept Medicaid, and it's not affordable.

We only looked at The Arbors, they really helped a lot and were able to get her in as soon as they could. They do supply the furniture which was very nice. We got a special at the time we moved in too so it was good timing. My mom is in a single room and it is great size, the bathroom is terrific. I think she has made a lot of progress since being here and I would recommend them.

First we did a virtual tour, and then we brought Mom to visit in person. It's a smaller place, and they take very good care of their residents. My mother feels well cared for and is happy. What more could you ask for at this stage in her life? Everything is spotless. They come in every day to clean. They make sure she gets her medications on time. She's made some friends. And she gets her hair and nails done at the onsite salon. The staff do a lot to keep the residents involved and help them get acclimated . They go out of their way and actively reach out to the residents to draw them into the activities. They have the bus going out again to take them on outings. She really likes the food. I think it's a great value.

My wife and I have been taking care of my mother after her stroke, and we appreciate that everybody that we've interacted with has been very helpful, very good with their communication, and has gone out of their way to make my mother feel at home. The resident rooms are okay, pretty typical for assisted living. But they're comfortable, and my mother likes it there. The only thing she doesn't like is she's stuck on one floor sometimes since she's in the memory care unit.

We chose The Arbors over some others we looked into because overall they were very friendly and the price was right for us. My mother has the biggest room available and she is thrilled with the size. The location of the facility is great, it is right off of the expressway. All of the staff have been extremely friendly. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

The community has very caring, and involved staff. The staff knows all the resident's names. This is what really impressed me when we visited, and a reason I choose the community. The community is bright and cheerful. My loved one doesn't care for the food due to there not being enough salt.
