Anthem Memory Care

I chose Emerald Place because the staff that I met with seemed professional and friendly. It is also in a very familiar location to us, it is close to a house that we lived in and I hoped that would help her memory. I would tell others to be understanding about what the staff actually has to go through - it is a very tough job. They do their best.

The home is clean and the rooms are spacious. Upon placing a loved one, request a sit-sown meeting with administration to share specifics about your loved one. Be aware that currently you can only visit in your lives one's room or in the common area in the lobby. This is different than majority of other homes in DuPage County. The nurses are available 24/7 to check on your loved one. Some of the aids seem inexperienced to assist with advanced memory care. At end of life, the administration and staff were very helpful and caring.

We picked thiscommunity because, they were a alzheimers building. The community can improve by, offering a training on recognizing symptoms of terminal agitation. Maybe on intake day when the family is there to meet with their loved one let them settle in instead of rushing them to the community room.

I chose Porter Place Memory Care because I liked being able to see how everyone was treated during my walk through. I like that it was not separated by different floors and things like that so I could see where he was going to be. Every one of the staff has been extremely helpful. My only complaint is that he was not eating or drinking and I was not notified about it quickly enough. Otherwise they called quite a bit with other updates and were good with communication. Overall I would recommend Porter Place for those looking for memory care.

The staff are great and very dedicated. For memory care, the facility is pretty much a perfect layout. It's not overly large, and you can't get lost.

There is a little problem with the medical side of things, but they are doing the best they can for our loved one and has brought in hospice to help out as well. He loves sitting outside and the staff do a really great job getting the residents up out of their rooms and interacting with one another - they play different board games and play different movies. He seems to be enjoying the meals and dining service and based on our experience so far we would absolutely recommend the Charter Senior Living community to other families.

We toured with Harvester Place and had a great experience. The tour was thorough and the staff did a great job with following up with us after the fact. We just found another facility to be better laid out for our loved ones needs.

I'm extremely disappointed that the community doesn't have land lines or cable television. The residents don't know how to use a streaming service and we have no way to communicate with our loved one. Some of the activities the community offers include singing, exercises, bingo, outdoor patio, and more for the residents to engage with. The staff communication with the family could be improved as there isn't enough proactive communication coming from the community to the family.

Emerald's strongest suit is that it is a very welcoming place. The environment is pleasant. The director is superb. The staff are responsive, qualified, and dedicated. I would recommend them to other families.

My loved one likes the food, and is pretty happy. We picked this place because we liked the community, and it seemed like a good place for our loved one.

One of the reasons we picked MorningStar is that they have zero limitations when it comes to visitation - we can come at anytime during the week day or night and there are never any issues. In our opinion the meals are good and have plenty of it - they are very cooperative, accommodating and flexible when it comes to make special meals for our loved one and handling all the different dietary restriction's They have a good plan and good ideas in place for activities. The business side of things just needs a little refinement.

There has been a lot of staffing changes, which has been a lot of turnover, and not very consistent.

Our family is based about 30 minutes away, but for the price point and cleanliness, I think it's the best place. I did tons of research had countless Zoom calls and visits to other places that were substandard. Grace Point Place is a newer build - the facility is about 5 years old. The staff is great. My only wish is that they would do field trips or attend events where the residents can get out side more. But other than that, it's great. The care they're providing is top notch. They've definitely been doing their due diligence keeping me informed. And when I visit, they're very warm and helpful with any questions I might have.

Mom has been here a few months and I think that they are doing a really nice job. The only issue we have really had is the response time when she needs help is sometimes 10 minutes or so which is pretty long for her. She has a private room and it is a little cramped. I would recommend Chisolm Place for those looking for memory care for their loved ones.

We can see they have a lot of activities based on their activities calendar but we have no idea if our loved one is participating in them. We would love for the community to have away for families to keep up with what their loved ones have done for the day.

The staff were super nice people. I really liked the size of the hallways. You could easily pass two wheelchairs by each other and still a person could walk beside the wheelchairs. The rooms were nicely laid out. But they had linen napkins and crystal in the dining hall, and my loved one never appreciated that type of thing. He would not have felt comfortable in that environment.

We chose Morningside Place Memory Care because the person I spoke with at A Place for Mom recommended it and said everyone she had placed there has had a good experience. It is also a facility that is focused solely on memory care and I thought that would be very helpful for my dad. They are pricey, but I feel like he is getting good care. I would recommend them to others.

It's a good community, the staff are professional. They provide good services to family members. Make sure to think about what services you want. It is definitely worth the price. If your loved one is bed ridden, I'd look into other options.

I feel that my loved one is in a safe location and well taken care of. It has taken a lot of stress off of the family. They have activities like singing music, puzzles, flower arrangements and outings on the bus. During the holidays they took them out on the bus to see the lights.
