I toured this residence community in September. I needed a homey, secure place that offered both assisted living and memory care. In Silvergate, I was able to stop the search. My mother-in-law and father-in-law have been living at Silvergate for one month now. They are very happy with the arrangement that Silvergate presented to them. We found the staff to be extremely helpful, and nice. The dining room is more like a nice restaurant. The tables had white tablecloths and you could order from their menu. We visited again last week and everything is going very smoothly.

I have nothing to compare this to. First time (and hopefully last) I have used a memory care facility for a loved one. My biggest "like" are the people. The staff is very kind and keeps us informed. The lead nurse upstairs in my mother's area is incredibly helpful and kind. My biggest "dislike" is the patients not being engaged all the time. I know it is hard, time consuming and if they don't want to do something you can't make them, but I wish my mother was taken out more often. Hard with memory care patients but for the money we are paying I think it is doable and could help immensely with their attitudes and health.

Experience was great. [name removed] ended up moving to Silvergate. Unfortunately, his health got worse as he lived there and he passed away last June. The reason for the 4 for quality- [name removed] had rechargeable hearing aids which they would not allow him to charge in his room. The medication tech was supposed to give them to him first thing in the morning with his medication, but they would forget sometimes, or they would give them to him uncharged. I had to test them to determine they were not charged, and apparently they weren't putting them on the charger at night. The first month or so I visited him often and complained about that, because dementia gets worse if a person can't hear. The other complaint is they wouldn't keep a bottle of water in his room. He had kidney disease and needed to drink a lot of water. He would never ask for water, and they would never offer it except at meal time, so he was only drinking at meal time. His doctor wanted him to have access to water at all times, and be encouraged to drink. I brought over bottles of water several times, and asked that they fill them up, but they would always be thrown away. Some staff was very difficult to talk to because their English skills were poor. As far as value, it was about [fee removed] a month for a private room, plus a [fee removed] move-in fee. Than any other place. We chose it due to location, as it was close enough for my mom to visit frequently. We expected our requests to be honored considering the price we were paying.

My experience with staff has been friendly and supportive. I picked this community because of the distance from my home and longevity of staff. Ambiance and grounds are less institutionalized than others in my community.

This is a very pleasant friendly community. Residents and guests get to enjoy lots of planned indoor and outdoor activities. Owners are frequently present on site and engaging with residents. Management staff are very pleasant friendly and helpful and shows compassion towards residents and guests I would say this is the nicest independent/assisted living facility I have visited.

My husband and I were delighted with the wonderful and all encompassing tour we received when visiting Silvergate, looking for retirement options. We were shown many different apartments and activities that might be right for us. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in their beautiful dining room with our warm and friendly hostess. A tour with an intriguing possibility for retirement for us in the not too distant future.

The Silvergate staff is very friendly, and most have been here for many years. Everyone knows our names, which makes us both feel very welcome here. The food is good, and they have a lot of musical performers who are very good.

Silvergate Rancho Bernardo is a brand new facility. It looked really nice and we liked what we saw on our tour. It was just out of our price range.

I felt very comfortable at the community, and I think they are doing a good job. The food is very good and our loved one really likes it. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

Our experience was during the pandemic. The caregivers we had some issues with them. The management team and professional staff were great. They had hired a new lead nurse during the stay of our loved one, and she was wonderful to work with. I believe this may have been due to situational since this was during a COVID outbreak. The activities director, the maintenance team, cook, and administrative staff were quick to try and resolve any situations we had. They are a smaller community and that is one of the reasons we choose them. They also have a good ratio of staff to residents we had seen.

Very overwhelming experience. But we have learned a lot through trial and error. We had had a rough start at the beginning with getting mom settled. At first, some of the nurses were not very friendly and it was difficult to communicate our concerns. We did have a meeting to straighten out the issues and it seems to be going much smoother now. The food seems to be okay I have not dined there myself. This is a clean community I would give it a four star. We are now in the process of looking for another community where her dog is allowed.

Great place! Mom is 82 and too independent for this type of living, she is still able to cook needs a full kitchen..

Nice place, super friendly. My biggest concern is hospital is 35 minutes away in Temecula. Specialist split time between Temecula and Fallbrook.

I toured this community for care. The staff is nice and understanding. The community is clean and offers a lot to the residents for good care. The list of activities would be helpful. They do not allow pets and that was something that was requested. We would recommend that families tour this community for care for a loved one.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive. During my tour everyone in the community was very nice and showed me around. There was a beautician available, indoor and outdoor common areas, and some activities provided. Healthy proportioned meals are provided as well. Overall, i would recommend a tour of this community to families.

My mother is doing very well at this community, she seems to have adjusted very well to it. It is a very clean facility, they do a very great job keeping everything very nice and clean. The staff have been very helpful, they are really good at what they do. She is trying many new activities,there are many to choose from. The food is nice, she enjoys the meals. This community is a little more expensive than others. They are caring for her well and I would recommend it.
