It is a smaller facility so if someone has difficulty with memory issues it is easier for them to get around. There are only 60 residents so it is much easier for the staff to keep their eyes on everybody. If your loved one is high maintenence, this is not the place for them. I would recommend American House Elmwood to others looking.

All of the above categories, in comparison to other places we investigated, are better at American House.

This was a good community. The location was too far and the price was more than we wanted to spend.

Most of the med team staff are great. Our loved one is not an easy resident after we told him we sold his house. But he has made friends & likes being there. He has acted out a few times but the staff is very understanding towards him.

We chose American House Elmwood because I have a friend I used to work with and she actually works here now after retiring . We looked at a lot of different places but when we came to check it out we liked it a lot. It is quiet, the facility is smaller, and it is also all on one floor which makes it easier for my dad to get around in his wheelchair. It is not high end and not low end, it is right in the middle. My dad has grown to like it and we would recommend them to other families looking.

This has been a great experience so far. So far the management has been very attentive and listened to our concerns. Water, garbage pick up, lawn care and a living unit is included in the monthly fee. Each unit is nicely landscaped. The living unit included furniture, a full kitchen, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer in the unit and a nice patio when we moved in.

They have friendly staff, great activities. The residents seemed happy. The location was too far from family.

We toured American House and thought it was an overall five. We chose another community because American House did not have what we were looking for.

We have people in here that should not be here. Most of the time they don't know where they are. I am tired of babysitting . We have no one to help us after 7 or 5.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour, we liked how they were going to change to all day meals rather than having meals at specific times during the days.

Our loved one is thriving at American House, he is back to having his own sense of freedom and independence. Our loved one started to decline at a previous community due to the lack of stimulation, but coming here he has regained all of the strength that was lost. They cook all of his meals and clean up, he has his own living space, with a nice kitchen. He can come and go as he pleases, and still can receive their medical care when needed.

The overall care and concern they showed our loved one during their stay really stood out to our family.

Toured here over the holiday weekend. Such a beautifully updated ranch style senior home. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. We are looking for my mom who needs a setting such as this.

My 93-year-old mother-in-law was very impressed with how clean everything was, the wide hallways, the lack of smell, the beautiful assisted living and independent living apartments, the reasonable rates, the available shuttle bus, and the friendliness of the staff.

They even had activities throughout the pandemic. I would recommend the community to others. It is an affordable option. It worked great having another contact with our loved one from a different agency. When the pandemic hit, this caregiver wasn't able to come in and see our loved one. The personal assistant through the community was not the same as what my loved one had experienced in the past with his other caregiver.

My loved one moved in during COVID. We were so worried about the care but it everything that we have asked for!! The staff is great! The Medical Team great! I could not have asked to move to a better community! Every time I walk into the community they always great me with a smile.

I like all the activities and the friendliness of the staff. A great care staff. [name removed] helps me fix my glasses and with my ipad.
