Disregard for Tenants. Would not recommend!

Put a ding on my credit report with out contact me to explain the debt even though I had a guarantor insurance and tenants insurance to take care of all financial issues that I might have now my guarantor won't pay because it's been over a year since I moved. I would not recommend.

Run Away

This place use to be a nice place for seniors with activities and care. After new management took over the rent went up to [removed] charged for lights on top of that charges if you have more than one tv with cable. You’re charged to eat dinner. Changed from senior living to senior adult to add prices. Apartments don’t cost that much! Then charge extra charges. No care or consideration for the elderly. No maintenance no extermination. Just collection. Management is a body in the building. Ask a question of concern you get an attitude with it. Lost your key. Too bad you’re old and lose things. That’ll be 150. I would NEVER recommend this place. EVER!!!

Poor management

I've been a year. In that time, management personnel has changed twice. The newest team being the worst. Unskilled, unknowledgeable, and unwilling to take responsibility for any problem. In one year, we've lost several amenities and pay higher rent. They charge different prices to different people for the same apartment. This place is so poorly managed that I'm surprised it still has its doors open. I can't wait until my lease is up.

Unacceptable treatment of residents

The Sunstone property management should be ashamed of themselves in the way they take advantage and treat their residents! My mother lives here and she has told me many occasions the disrespectful treatment she has experienced from the manager. To be told they are lucky to be living there and yet, the property is not taken care of, many residents have leaky roofs, non working heaters or a/c's, broken sprinklers, broken gates, inconsistent rent payments and I could go on. These are older humans who deserve just as much, if not more, respect than everyone else. And they are wrongfully evicting people because their feelings got hurt. We are seriously thinking about contacting the local news and Better Business Bureau. Shame shame.

Bad choice for retirees

After four years of living here I have given up on things changing. It has been a disaster since I moved in - I was lied to, ignored and basically treated like I had alzheimers, although I still work 40 hours a week at age 71. The only good thing about living here is the apartment itself - but they do not maintain them. They have no good maintenance program, so you have to wait to get things fixed. They cannot keep help here. I have mice running around in my yard due to the dumpster situation and they nest in my storage room. Yard work is done up front first where new people can see it, but in the back we get a lick and a promise - and MICE. I went without air conditioning in 90 degree weather for two weeks because they didn't listen to me. Pool is often dirty, hot tub does not work, gates unlocked now (broken) for 3 months. No poop bags so dog poop everywhere. Rent is ridiculous for what you get. Don't send your mom here - she will be miserable.

Being Ignored

At one time, the staff was excellent and the residents were terrific. The staff is different and most of the residents I, knew have gone. The service became poor about needed repairs. There was always broken appliances in the laundry room. The staff changed every few months. I was overcharged on my rent for several months and the manager was too busy to see me . Then I was told I would have a huge rent increase,. Therefore, I moved. There is a new staff, so I the residents have better conditions.

Check Before You Move

They have all new staff. I would recommend you find a new place to move to. We as seniors there is no security here. After five o'clock or five-thirty in the evening we are on our own. There are emergency numbers to call if you need something. The food is catered in and you get a free breakfast. The dinner is catered in and you pay for your dinner. It depends on the meal that day on the price you would pay, I believe the price is set at $13 for dinner. There are no staff here on the weekends.

Facility smelled horrible. Floors were filthy. Residence were just placed around the front with no one giving them any attention. Saw two residence sitting drooling and staff just walked by. Very outdated property. Person that helped me with the tour was amazing and was able to show me around but it was not what I thought. The director tried the "I have someone else looking so if you want to give me $1500 non refundable to hold the room". It would have gone towards the first months rent had we decided to use this facility but just the fact that it was the manner she had. I would not recommend anyone working in any facility would try to strong arm the person that was looking for a home for their parent. This is not a decision to settle on quickly. Much research has to be done and doing the "we only have one room left" when they told me their occupancy before that was only at 60%. This is just my feedback for future family members looking for a home for their Mum.

Depressing. Grave diggers housing. Popcorn ceilings, shag carpeting with little or no padding, Cheap overstuffed furniture and dirty carpeting in community walkways. Residents wonder around like night of the living dead, no smiling no laughter. This facility is for those among us that have been less fortunate in life and have no other options.

If I had to do it again, I would NOT move here

I live here currently and I’m already looking for a new place to live. The manager and assistant manager don’t communicate too well and I don’t think they know where their pay is coming from or the objective of their job. It’s not just about telling a bunch of old people what to do. When the new manager took over, she said there would be an open door policy. But anytime anyone goes into her office to talk to her, her head is buried in the computer and she doesn’t even look at you while you’re talking. She doesn’t act like the manager, she just tells you who to talk to. It feels like they think they’re dealing with a bunch of dumb old people. The assistant manager told me when I moved in that I’d be able to look out the window to see my car from my apartment but that’s not the case. She won’t listen to you either, so I’ve already stopped trying to deal with her. There is one lady that works at the facility that seems to be pretty nice and another young girl that takes all of my maintenance requests and I guess she’s okay. When I first moved in, they gave me a list to fill out of any problems that I found so they could take care of them. I gave them the list and 2 weeks later, nothing had been started. I had to call the owners of the actual facility to even get someone to come by. The office staff finally sent out someone from the maintenance team and they might as well have just done it to make me happy because they didn’t start on anything. Nothing got fixed for over 2 weeks. I’ve talked with several other residents and they aren’t satisfied either. I spoke with a lady on the second floor and she said that someone keeps ringing her doorbell at night and she doesn’t answer the door anymore because there’s never anyone there. There are no cameras on any of the floors to monitor what’s going on so she’s unable to prove that someone is doing this. At this point in time I’m not planning on renewing my lease and I do not recommend it here. If I had to do it all again, even if the price was good, I would NOT move here.

Poor Customer Service

A friendly front desk/receptionist is critical to any business, as first impressions can be what determines whether a person will recommend your company to others. While the services provided at Lakeview Senior Living may be too notch and the facility is beautiful, when greeted on the phone or in person by a rude receptionist one can feel insignificant and not want to refers friends or grandparents to the location. Each phone encounter I've had with the receptionist [Removed], left me feeling like I was interupting her or putting her out. Then, I met her in person and was saddened to discover her attitude and body language was worse! I'm not talking a time or two, rather on a weekly basis for months I have witnessed this behavior. I'm not sure who oversees these concerns, but you may consider addressing the importance of first impressions and customer service with this employee.

Please don't waste your time with Lakeview

I am not impressed at all with Lakeview. My parent has been living there for several months now, and the treatment of their residents is appalling. They are very nice before you move in while they are trying to get your money, but once you're there things change quickly. [name removed] is super nice while she is wooing you to join Lakeview, but she is not very nice at all after you move in. She is in the wrong business. The staff really does not care about the residents. It's sad. I so wish we had selected another place. The food is not good at all, very poor quality. My parent eats most meals in the apartment and we bring in food because of the poor quality at Lakeview. Plus the kitchen manager is moody and very curt. Overall, do not buy into the nice image [name removed] portrays, You will be disappointed and angry at how your parent is treated.

Great Location is the Best I Can Say

Owners and management company just don't seem to care and definitely do not follow through. If you think this is the place for you, at least speak with a few residents before you sign anything. The community rooms are beautiful and they remodeled some of the units, but make sure any work you need done is completed before you sign a lease. Read the lease carefully, especially your "move-in" date. Issues include residents smoking (at night) right outside one of the main doors and you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to go in or out; low-quality and sometimes old and stale food put out for the continental breakfast; persistent blackouts on certain cable channels with Senior TV, which is the company included in the rent; problems with AT&T internet either shutting down or being very slow; meetings, events and breakfast items (and sometimes times) being changed with little or no notice to residents, etc. Although there is an after-hours emergency phone number where you can leave a message, management is not on site after daytime hours. Some of the employees are amazing and the saving grace here; while others brought on by the new management seem to think they are doing you a favor by working at Hanover Place - they will walk right by you without so much as a hello, with their nose in a cell phone.

Empty. Don't bother! Too Much $$$ for unit$!

Nice location, but right next to the VERY NOISY Rt. 422, and you look across a the "milennial hangout" Indigo with the holiday lights year round, blow up sports mascots and other flotsam on the balconies. I left my license in my vehicle and wasn't allowed to look without one, too bad - I might have thought it about it before moving in the very nice Hanover across the street. CANVAS - well, It's barely sold, practially empty in real estate standards. The under building parking garage has just a few cars in it at night. The units are overpriced for people 55 and up. You can go elsewhere for that price or have a mortgage for the prices they ask on a nice home or condo - including HOA fees! So, now about the 55+ thing - one of you must be 55. Silly folks, they should know that people 50+ are pretty much the same as 55+, perhaps they will eventually lower the age - not like it will be overrun with college kids - -even if they lower the age to 40! Little dogs. Little dogs everywhere. Barking. Using the landscaping as a bathroom. Don't bother, little dogs are a nuisance, and they are very hard to shut up at night and early in the AM. Pass on this one.

I wish we had done more research, found another place for my parent. The food is awful. The staff is not nice at all once they have your money and your signed contract. Watch out for [name removed]. She is super nice, very sweet, before you move in. Once you move in, you'll see her true colors. Repairs are VERY slow to get done. No one seems to care. These are elderly people, they deserve kindness and compassion. They won't find that at Lakeview.
