My mom was 93 she was only there for over a week. She had a hard time remembering to use her call button at night. She fell twice and had a small fracture. My only complaint was I didn't realize that when they sent er by ambulance no one from the facility didnt go with her. So she was by herself in the middle of the night in the ER Until we figured that out. The staff. The activities even though she didnt participate. The do have someone there to do nails and hair. I think it is an extra cost I dont remember. They allowed her to take meals on her floor because she was hard of hearing and being in the common room was too much for her.

I would recommend Alto. On a scale of 1 -5 I would give them a 4. The only reason I wouldn't give them a 5 is because of the food. Everyone complains about the food. I know it's hard with 100 elderly and different pallets and medical needs / restrictions. The food needs to be addressed.

No major concerns. My mom is somewhat difficult and they sometimes struggle with her. Staff are attentive and communicate well.

I'd say between a 4 and 5. What we like the most about the community is the beautiful atmosphere, solid management and attentive staff, and fun activities. Our loved one in [date removed], so it has been awhile, but based on the experience we would definitely recommend the community to others.

My aunt has friends! Although there are many activities, she wouldn't go to them on her own. However, because she's befriended several women, she goes along with them. My aunt thinks very highly of the staff. They really are patient. She's very happy with the food, although I'm a little concerned that the price has gone up and she always exceeds the monthly allowance. The apartment size is more than needed, very nice. I still believe we made the best choice.

Just a few special comments. My husband is in a secure memory care unit so my comments have to deal with that area more than the regular ALF. There aren't a lot of facilities in this area that have secure memory care and provide special foods or other needs of that nature that I found that being said, I am happy now with his care and the people who care for him are very friendly and very nice. My initial experience for the first 30 days was not a good one, but I guess all things do take time. My husband has been there for a year now and it's doing well for his situation. I do feel that they are pretty expensive but like I said, this is a specialized area and I don't have lots of choices for that. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

The biggest is help turn over. Some are there just for money. FOOD on memory care side need serious help, but the chef is willing to listen

Staff is great especially in the dining room always anticipating what each resident may want for dinner. The food is pretty good. It took a while but we finally got plans in place to help my mother in law with transportation to meals, help with showers and to activities. There are some staff more caring and attentive to her.

Relatively new, good food. They included laundry and weekly cleaning.. they took my husband to all of his appointments, for a monthly fee. Location good for us and they have a very intelligent group of clients.

The food needs improving. The actual community was very nice. Yes. I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

The facility is exceedingly clean. The caregivers, nurses, front desk staff--and basically all employees I have encountered, are amazingly friendly and kind to both the residents and their visitors. The only reason that I didn't give Alto a rating of 5 is because they seem rather understaffed.

I think the staff is helpful as they can be. They make every attempt to involve my mom in social activities as she has not adjusted well (no fault of Altos). The dining staff and front desk go to great effort to know and use the residents names which makes them feel special.

Everyone is very friendly. The staff knows everyone by name and greet them that way. Could improve on follow through. They are very receptive to all requests, but are unable to follow through on everything. It works out ok, but we put a lot of time in caring for our mother to make it work.

After a few minor paperwork gloves, our loved one is safe and in good hands. The people, both residents and staff are friendly and helpful. The meals are excellent and there is a nice variety of choices. Medical staff is readily available and willing to help at any time. Al in all, a great experience for us.

The facility is open and bright. I like how it is on the third floor. The views with the open windows are very pretty. Most memory care units are on the first floor. I am having some issues with billing. She has been in there since [time frame removed] and the administrative staff failed to fill out a form correctly. Now she is behind on her insurance reimbursement.

Our experience of Alto's memory care unit has been extremely positive for the most part, with a few exceptions. A huge draw of this facility was the care they put into making the memory care wing feel just as important as assisted living. One huge example is the rooftop garden and greenhouse, available only to memory care residents, while assisted living residents have some garden boxes outside on the ground floor. The rooftop location is so special, and our loved one was a big gardener throughout her life. So it's a great way to keep her mind and body engaged. The activities director, [name removed], has been nothing but supportive. She gives us thorough updates on the care of our loved one, and is always available with ideas to make her living space more accessible and successful for her. Huge shout-out to you, [name removed]! The space is beautiful with lovely views on one side of the building (try to get a view of the forest, not the parking lot!). The interior is well decorated and beautifully maintained. And they have spectacular events for both the memory care and assisted living wings, many of which encourage family and friends to attend, so we love showing up for those. For example, their holiday meals are so well done and make residents feel special on days it's easy to feel lonely. We have had some concerns about transparency from the nursing staff. Namely, we've had an ongoing issue with adult diapers we order depleting far faster than we can make sense of. We suspect the nursing staff is tapping into our supply when other residents run low, which we have been told is not allowed and that this pattern will be looked into. Sadly, we haven't seen resolution after 6+ months of reporting the same issue. We are having to hold them accountable, and that has broken some trust. This setback hasn't defined our experience; overall it's been a great fit with several incredible staff members going above and beyond. But other staff members take extra work to hold in line, and we shouldn't have to be doing that. I'd highly recommend them. And, like at any facility, you need to communicate with staff when you have concerns and follow up as needed.

Night shift coverages need improved and meds given on time within that shift as well.

Bed alarms would have been helpful and might have prevented serious falls at night. We were told the room wouldn't have another occupant, but within a few days she had a roommate. Very small area. Not enough room to accommodate much personal belongings.
