As we enter into this week of Thanksgiving, I sit here and think of how thankful I am that my family and I were lead to Aspen Village at Lost Mountain one year ago. That year was full of heartbreaking, difficult decisions as it became apparent that my parents could no longer thrive independently. Being an only child, this was probably the most difficult experience I have encountered. While I could sit here and focus on the rapid decline of their health, and the challenges that came with it, I am most thankful that God was so Faithful in protecting them as He led us to [Removed] at Aspen Village. There is joy in every moment; sometimes we have to look a little closer to see it. When turning my attention to the blessings, I see how hard the Aspen staff works to provide not only for the basic needs of the residents, but to create an environment of love and exciting opportunities (ie. outings such as the apple orchard in North Georgia, the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain, and weekly trips to Walmart; they have special events such as a circus, car show, craft classes, flower arranging, Christmas Parties, Thanksgiving Feasts, and Ice Cream at 3:00pm every Sunday to name a few—the activity calendar is ALWAYS full) The business of assisted living is a growing business. It seems as if new constructions begin daily and they all offer the promise of care with similar price ranges. However, not one could offer the most priceless gift of love that we have experienced from the Aspen Family. While no family is perfect, this family loves like no other. When minor issues arise, they are readily available to address the concern. I personally, have experienced this love and felt the love extended to my parents. Transition to assisted living is no easy matter for some. My parents were hard working and enjoyed living life to the fullest. I can't imagine how losing one's independence must feel, but I know that was hard for them. In December of last year, my father's health declined as he had a re-occurrence of cancer. He transitioned to Hospice which was very difficult for us. [Removed] and the staff were there to comfort my mom and me at every turn. The last week of January was most difficult as he transitioned to the final stages. I moved in to their apartment to be with my family during those last four days. The staff loved us through this time. Providing room service to me and mom and a spread of food on the table for visitors was only a sampling of how they provided an outpouring of love to us. Some staff members even came to sit with us at the end of their shift. Dad passed on February 3rd of this year. Having awakened next to the man of her dreams for 66 years, this has been and continues to be very difficult for my mom. The angels of Aspen Village provide for her needs, but even greater than that, love her. As a matter of fact, one of her caregivers is out for a short time due to a medical procedure required for her. She came by Sunday afternoon to visit mom. I just happened to be visiting at the same time and was blessed to see her. I am an educator by profession. I once had a principal to tell me that education is not a career, it is a life. I think the same is true for caregivers. I thank my Heavenly Father above for His servants at Aspen. They are truly answering His call to love.

Very good experience. I improved physically and emotionally. Good food. Good activities (very well planned). Good therapist. Nurses and aides very good.

I find this community a very nice and relaxing community also fun for everyone. The food is great and so are the people. I would recommend it to everyone. The activities are awesome!

The food is nutritious and delicious. Housekeeping do a great job and all the staff here is nice and friendly and very helpful. My apartment is spacious. I really enjoy all the activities. They go above and beyond making it special.

It is a very good place to stay. Great environment, the staff are wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We are beginning to feel that we are becoming part of a great family. All of the personnel perform a good job. Thank you.

The staff and the atmosphere is very friendly. The facility is very well kept and clean. The food is good with lots of choices that coordinate with my diet.

I am so grateful for The Hearth at Franklin. I had been struggling to know what the next best step was for mom. One day I stopped at in at The Hearth and met with [Removed]. She broadened my understanding of what my mom was going through and what my mom needed. Mom has been at the Hearth for 3 months. She is enjoying her life there. I know she is safe and cared for. And that means the world to me!

[Removed] was great in providing specifics and answering questions. The facility is beautiful and has everything that is needed for an individual.

The staff as a whole is wonderful. My most experience is with the weekend staff, [removed names]. They're a great team. Very helpful, alert and patient with residents. They multi-task, despite their job title. Residents feel their love and concerns for them. It's seen on the residents face, they feel protected and loved. Thank You!!

My Mom has been at Aspen Village for about 3 years now. She loves it and so do I. It is clean and the staff really cares. It is her home and they care for her like family. The very few minor issues I have had to discuss with management have been met with an eagerness to make it right and have been remedied immediately.

I would recommend Aspen Village at Lost Mountain in Dallas, Georgia. The staff is helpful. The dining room is impressive and the food is good. The resident quarters are homey. Lots of fun activities.

We wish we had made the move months earlier to Atria Park of Baypoint Village. It is the perfect fit for my dad. The community is very nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I've seen the meals that they prepare and it really looks great. My dad loves the food, they provide ample servings. There are plenty of activities for the residents to participate in. My dad really enjoys their walking group and he likes the entertainment that they have. They have plenty of different seating areas around the community to go out and enjoy the fresh air. Everybody looks happy and content. I would describe it as a high-energy retire community with lots of activities to keep them busy and happy residents to socialize with. I would definitely recommend this community, I already have!

Instead of hunkering down and crossing their fingers they evacuated all of the residents and staff to a hurricane safe facility at Disney in Orlando. They organized buses and vans to safely and comfortably evacuate the residents and their essential belongings. While they were at Disney they continued to entertain everyone, even having [Removed] there to sings songs and call a bingo game. Beyond terrific. All the while there were daily updates sent to the families (like me) keeping us well informed. I can't thank these folks enough. Bravo. Terrific job.

We moved our mother to Appletree Court four years ago and she has never been happier! They have social activities throughout the day including outside guests who perform each afternoon. Once every other month they have Family Night which is quite a production and always enjoyed by families. Their food is superior and they consistently serve a variety of food. Mother also attends Sunday sermon, as well as Tuesday and Wednesday bible study. The very loyal and dedicated staff is loving and caring to all of the residents as well as informative and reassuring to the family. Another bonus is that mother has her beloved cat live with her in her room. I can't say enough great things about Appletree Court, they are truly wonderful and are like family to us.

As a resident of Appletree Court Assisted Living in Richardson, TX since January 2010, I am more than qualified to speak on resident benefits. Appletree is owned by a hands-on local family who hired a first class Managing Director. She has been here since the facility opened 18 years ago as has the Housekeeper Supervisor; the RN on duty, the head cook, and the Care-giver Team Leader. The balance of the many employees are superlative caring folk which means residents are blessed with excellent loving care. Resident benefits include professional management; clean, odor-free public areas; 24 hour assisted care; daily trash pick-up and weekly housekeeping service; varied daily events: games, crafts, Bingo, exercises, entertainment, birthday parties; 3 meals a day; free transportation & maintenance service and FREE cable TV service. Appletree Courts was one of four facilities we visited in the Richardson, TX area after it became apparent that my 91 year old mother could no longer live in her own home safely. She had always been very self-sufficient and hated the idea of giving up her privacy and independence. Once we started down the path of transitioning, her priorities were a location near her church, the cleanliness, trustworthiness and friendliness of the staff and environment, and the other amenities and activities that would be available. A friend of ours had highly recommended Appletree after his mother's experience there, as well as his own extensive reasearch into the available options in the area. After about a month living in Appletree, my mother loves it. The residents are welcoming and we can't say enough about the staff. Mother is very pleased with the food as well and doesn't skip any meals. Best of all, she's thriving, both physically and in community with the residents. We heartily recommend Appletree and are grateful for the blessing it is to mom and us!

This was a nice tour. We liked the staff who seemed to be caring and attentive. The community was clean and the environment was nice. We like activities that would have been offered. We wanted a community closer to home. We liked the care that would have been offered and other families might want to tour this community for the care of a loved one.
