Caring staff, adequate staffing levels most times. Mixed elder population, no strict division between regular care and memory care. In my mom's experience, that meant more interaction between populations.

My mother in law is being well taken care of at this community. The staff are very attentive. The community is clean and the grounds are well maintained. She seems to like the food. They have a common area with a large television. The staff are really good with residents that have memory loss. I know she is safe here and I would recommend looking into this community.

I am happy with the community being so clean. The staff is really nice and my father likes them. They are always will to work on any improvements. My father likes the food. He is trying to get involved with activities. They need to work on some of the communication issues. We would recommend overall for good care for a family member.

The improvements made to my Mom who is staying there is phenomenal and I believe it is because of the expert care and concern given by the nurses and the staff there.

I can't say enough good things about Whispering Pines, it's an awesome place! The staff here is professional and so, so friendly. From the administration to the kitchen staff to the nursing staff they all treat the residents like family. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and they really take great care of the people who live here. I highly recommend the place!

My brother has been at Journeys Crossing in Elkton, Va since the end of Nov 2015. He is still getting himself settled but has joined in the activities they provide. He is quiet but is having some help with his speech. I am glad that we decided to have him live there because it is a homey atmosphere.

Journeys Crossing is an absolutely wonderful place. Having her here has brought my mother back to life quite literally. Mom had kidney failure as a result of severe dehydration and we transferred her to this facility straight from the hospital. She has really turned around now. This facility is exceptional for the value. I am working with the director to try to get some video teleconferencing set up for families that are out of state. For someone with dementia talking on the phone doesn't not cut it. I think all facilities should be equipped with video teleconferencing. At this facility they get food from peoples garden and not canned. Mom has responded so well to all the fresh food. I tell people about this place all the time. It is so worth the care that we get no matter where you live.

In Laws are living at Timberview Crossing. From my few visits (as we do not live locally), we are pleased with the care and lifestyle provided to them. They have plenty of room in their shared room and appear to be engaged as much as they want to be. It is a smaller facility and that suits them better than a larger facility. The only thing I noticed is the staff could maybe be a bit more engaging to visitors, especially those of us who are infrequent visitors or visiting for the first time. Once you get to know them or after they have seen you for awhile, they are quite approachable and responsive.

Things are friendly with staff available at almost all times. Administrators are informative and also interact with the clients. Food is excellent and there are numerous activities for the clients to take part in. My father was never a "social" person, but he has become more sociable in the last 10 days he has been at Timberview. It has just over 20 clients so they receive considerable personal attention. The rooms and the facility overall are kept quite clean. Several ammenities (such as haircare and podiatry care) are extra, but well within an inexpensive range. Having visited 5 or 6 facilities, Timberview was what we wanted for Dad.

Whispering Pines was the best assisted living facility out of the 4 we toured. I like the fact that they aren't overwhelmed with residences, so there is more individual attention for each one. Room sizes are adequate. My brother has his twin bed, a love sofa, a coffee table, a TV with cable, a computer table, and a chair and his chest of drawers. He has 2 closets and his own half bathroom. They do have a van and go on outings, like the movies, luncheons. They get visiting entertainment occasionally, and a very nice Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for the residents and their family.

Dad is living in Timberview. He is always going to complain. However, the director, [name removed], absolutely loves him. It makes things much easier. The staff is very attentive. I was impressed when the day we arrived, almost all the staff came into his room to meet him. Even the cook arrived to ask about the foods he liked and didn't like. I wish I could take care of him at home, this is the next best choice. The director, [name removed], is incredible!!! She has made all the difference with my dad! The setting is comfortable, and the home is decorated just right for the residents. The food is mostly good.

After touring a few different places, Dogwood Crossing was the only place my step father actually liked and felt like he would be comfortable staying there. The facility is very well kept with a homey feel and the staff is friendly and attentive.

The care they give him. For the most part, they have a good crew taking care of him and them except for a certain two people. Everyone seems to be very friendly and ask if I need anything. They are very hospitable and that is very much appreciated. A couple of my husbands friends went to see him and they were very impressed with the cleanliness and among other things,

The reason we chose Dogwood Crossing is our family member has more flexibility there / isn't confined to a certain bed or space. For an elderly person going through hardships, it's nice to have that flexibility. And I also like that residents can be checked out of the facility for outings if they're healthy enough. I think they do a good job overall. The facility is clean when I come to visit. And the staff are friendly to me, although they do seem a little short-staffed.

They do a lot with the residents, regarding the activities. They have cards, puzzles and Bingo. We picked this community because, of the location, it was the least expensive, and affordable. It would be nice, if family members could make appointments with the nurse practitioner, for their loved ones.

On tour My wife and I found Whispering Pines to be clean and well managed. [Name removed] , the administrator was an RN there before she took her current position so she has a lot of practical experience as well. The staff seemed happy and engaged with the residents. The memory care area has a nice little courtyard to go into with plants to tend if they so desire. They also allow some of those residents who still have some high level function to crossover into the regular assisted living areas to participate in their activities(supervised). We also got the sense that they are little more laid back (not sloppy, just informal)than other places we have visited. Definitely a contender

My daughter had to take over the search because I ended up in the hospital and we need something pretty quick and from what I have been led to believe this was the only community was an immediate opening. Mom seems to like it here she is doing activities and meeting new people. The staff is very nice very helpful from my understanding. Mom is liking the food no complaints that I am aware of. I would recommend this community

There have been some issues with my mom and her ability to handle things. Plus she will never be happy anywhere. 1- they had a water main break which caused her to be out of her room for a few days but lots of dryers running non stop. Lots of noise for her. Also they are doing something remodeling inside which is causing her nervous to be out of sorts. She is complaining about cold food all the time. They have changed meal time for 1/2 of the residents and staff aren't as friendly as they were on initial visit. Mom indicates there are no nurses there. All of this is based on my mom and conversations she has had with me.

I had two aides that did what I asked them to do about keeping mom moving and for reason she got a sore on her butt from sitting in the wheel care all the time and than got kicked out of Dogwood in May because it was a grade 4. I would not recommend Dogwood Crossing. It was bad, Nurses would lie to my face.
