Cameron Hall was great, but they did ...

Cameron Hall was great, but they did not have the ability to accommodate my uncle. The hospital and the Place for Mom representative really pushed for an assisted living facility, but after one night Cameron Hall indicated my uncle could not stay there.

Wonderful care team

The care team is wonderful. They are very compassionate and caring. The food is ok. Mom says its garbage some days! Apartment is a good size however the bathroom/shower needs to be bigger. These are elderly people that don't have the best balance.

Parkside Assisted Living and Memory Care at Conyers

The activities coordinator did a great job, and my sister seemed to enjoy the activities that were offered. The room size was good, and the overall cleanliness was acceptable. The staff was generally okay, but there were several concerns that made me feel like I needed to be there every day to make sure my sister was receiving proper care. On multiple occasions, my sister had accidents in bed or in her clothing, and I found soiled bedding, clothes, and even towels that had not been cleaned. I had to ask several times for her laundry to be washed, and unfortunately, this happened more than once. I also had concerns about mealtime. There were days when residents were not given silverware or napkins. One day they were served pork chops with gravy but had to eat with their hands because they didn't have utensils. I had to ask for a knife and fork so I could cut up my sister's food. Another time they were served sausage without utensils and again had to eat with their hands. Overall, I felt I needed to be present every day to ensure my sister's needs were being met. I also believe the bathrooms in each room could use updating.

Friendly staff

We have staff members who are so sweet, caring and helpful. My mom is a level 6 care and requires a lot of help. Most of the staff have experience and are good at helping her. Her apartment is the smallest floor plan yet it is bigger than apartments I toured in other facilities that cost more. The food isn't great. Could use improvement.

Like the location and more attention should be made to ensure patients are given all medicines as directed. We would maybe recommend this community to other families based on the experience.

A good facility with some room to improve

The overall day to day interactions of the staff was positive. Hey knew my mother and her needs. During times where my mother was hospitalized or sent to another facility, it was difficult to get direct information. I was also rarely, if ever, contacted by staff outside of an emergency regarding her dementia progression

Things to know

it's a simple community. They do not offer much outside of the facility for the residence to go to or do they're very limited. Also on taking residence to doctor appointments and the billing has been incorrect since we moved in five months ago and you cannot speak to anybody in corporate even after leaving several messages. On a positive note, the facility is well laid out & easy for residence to move about. The staff appears to be friendly with the residence. Also, pricing is moderate, which makes the facility affordable for anyone on a fixed income and it's located in a safe and convenient area.

Stay involved.

I think that it's important for each family member makes the time to visit their loved one especially if they're in memory care on a regular basis. This shows the staff that family members are taking an interest in their loved ones' welfare and the staff subconsciously will make an effort to possibly give the resident an extra "look" if you know what I mean.

I’d stay here if I needed it!

My husband and I toured several local senior living facilities from Ellijay to Hiawassee, GA. We both knew this was the place for his mom and sister. Neither can live on their own anymore. We were able to get them a larger apartment type room since they are together. The staff has been nothing but welcoming and supportive. So many activities to participate in daily and overall just a lovely clean updated facility.

Oaks at Conyers review

The staff were great and I felt like they catered to my mom who can sometimes be difficult and when mom was in hospice at the facility. They were there to support not only my mom but me and all here family who stayed with mom round the clock. My family and will be forever grateful to the staff at the Conyers center.

Peachtree Creek Memory Care

For the most part, we are very happy with Peachtree Creek Memory Care for a mom. We find the staff to be warm, caring, and engaging. The residents are involved with activities for most of the day, which has been very good for our mom. They are somewhat short staffed which we have found to be pretty common in the facilities we’ve visited, but we’ve been able to supplement with minimal private care. Peachtree offers only memory care, therefore specializing in this type of care. We are relieved and confident in our decision to move our mom to Peachtree.

Great place

It’s a small, pretty, caring facility that is Christian based. It has really worked out for our family, and I couldn’t be more pleased. They accepted both of my parents, and one was quite weak and went on Hospice. They care for both parents well.

Our Family's experience

As I said, this was just over a year ago. Things have gone down since then. I have kept up with the residents at Shiloh Point. I can no longer recommend it. The good people left, the bad director was moved to another facility and recently fired. The level of care has fallen. The activities director is not doing much of anything. It's sad. Most of the residents that I know are looking for another place. The 4, and 5 rating would be a 2 or 3 now.

I would recommend

The 3 on Cleanliness comes primarily from the odor, consistently smelling like urine or "number 2." The 3 on Activities I gave because I don't see or know of activites that takes place. I saw exercise take place one Sunday that I visited but nothing else. Maybe it's just the nature of the memory-care side versus assisted living.

A great quiet and peaceful assisted living community

If one has a question or concern they will readily address it. My 94 your old uncle enjoys living there. When I have asked him the playful question, "If you could go anywhere in the word, where would you go?", his response is, " Here". I'm guessing there is an extremely limited budget for activities or there may just be limited interest in activities. I believe there are several "Oaks" in the metro area. It would be interesting to explore the possibility of hiring a recreational therapist to create and implement activities for various Oaks communities.

Review for Lakes at Gainesville Assisted Living

I would say it's a great place unless the individual has dementia of any kind. Residents can just walk out any door and get lost. It was a wonderful community but my dad had dementia and with this being his first move away from family it wasn't so good for him. They said he would either need around the clock assistance or would have to move. This was after we asked several times and they "assessed" him regarding his dementia.
