Sunrise Senior Living

Being mom had to make yet another move, the family decided to try Sunrise Lafayette Hill. A Place for Mom helped me find it because it was conveniently located to mom's Power of Attorney and they had a smoking room that mom would be escorted to a few times a day. For my 88 year old mother, this was a better option that denying her one of the few things she still enjoys. Now that mom’s at Sunrise, I see how much more the aides are engaged with the residents than the prettier place mom had to leave. Residents are encouraged and participate in the available activities on a regular basis. In the fancier place mom stayed for 7 months, residents rarely interacted and the aides did not have the same enthusiasm or concern with the residents. I noticed how isolating it really was. Overall, Sunrise Lafayette Hill is much homier and a better experience for mom to age in with dignity.

6 Jewish residents (3 in indep, 2 in memory). 1 care manager/6-8 residents. Rehab comes in- not on staff. Dr., hearing, podiatrist come in. 24 hour nurse. Mostly studios. Good bathrooms. Very nice dining room & common area & lounges.

Nice looking. Smelled like food. Older residents, less active community

Nice facility, smaller, shorter hallways, several common areas but could still see main areas. Dad liked.

The community was very pretty. Would have liked to have the entire tour, but the person who gave the tours was out sick and the dining room director gave us the tour. He was nice, but could not answer all of our questions and we felt that we missed out on a lot of information available on the community.

Smaller building, homey, cozy, small apts (88 about 30% Independent), park-like grounds, France Ave between 494 & Crosstown, no garage, very pet friendly (house dog and cat), $10 day walking, kitchenettes, porches, Bistro, Happy Staff, home cooked food (no frozen), special diets, No move-in fee, 1-3 months wait for 1BRAlso in Roseville, Golden Valley and Minnetonka

Very nice facility. Open atmosphere. Quiet, not a lot of action. Rooms were small and 'kitchen' was tiny. Outside space looked good. plenty of walking paths and close to neighborhoods. Her reaction was positive though. Liked the fact that she could try it out for a month or so to see if she liked it.

Nice, 2 floors of memory care, second level can go to end stage. One time move in fee. $335/day. RN 24 hours. 3 meals, all housekeeping included. Pets on each floor. Locked unit on 5th and 6th floor. just outdoor patio but no garden.

We visited today. Very impressed. Some cost concern. Very good location.

For assisted living there is a 1 time entrance fee of $3000 with monthly rent of $3500 for studio plus care fees and $4300 for 1 bdrm plus care fees. Care fees are assessed monthly. Extensive assisted care program...goes into areas of nursing home care without having to move to a nursing home facility. Just east of Yorktown Shopping Center.

comfortable, spacious common areas. would need to explore activities more, also need to explore in more detail transportation to doc appts & other non-social things.

I like the floor plans, the common area decor, the staff, probably everything about the place. I'm sure my Aunt could find a home here if she should choose this facility. I will include this in my recommendations to her.

We visited here. It was a fantastic place. The staff was very friendly and informative. I felt they could meet the needs of my family. The rooms were small for two and the location, cost and the fact that they don't take Medicaid were prohibitive.

Did a tour of the memory care facility. Too advanced staged for Mom... want something in between with a guardian alert system bracelet. Also expensive...

Building a bit older. Rooms smaller. Less light. Dinner area nice. Asst. living next door is nice. Some church services on site. have doctor who does weekly visits.

Gorgeous very clean, expensive, but it is the first one we saw. Nothing to compare to yet. I saw someone I knew there as resident. She said food was good, people there aren't peppy there old. LOL

Very friendly staff. Clean and very homey. Residents appeared engaged. Different levels of assisted living. Could provide appropriate supervision for her. Private suite available if she qualifies for assisted living.

Director was fantastic!

MOST LIKELY SECOND CHOICE - also liked the grounds, evidence of activities, staff, food.

Toured today with Director - Terrific first impression and excellent visit. She showed us studio, 1 bedroom, and shared rooms all of which were clean and comfortable.
