I enjoy living here very much. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Also, all of the other tenants are lovely people. The staff works very hard to accommodate all of the tenants needs. They provide room service, have a van to take tenants where they need to go locally and are always there to give support and assistance whenever needed.

At Brighton Court Assisted Living I like that its a smaller facility. I am out of state and don't have the option to see mother. I was there the week she moved in. I rely on emails and phone calls. I like that I am able to call up at the desk and ask them to do something. I have the freedom to be in touch and they are cooperating with that. They are good about getting back with me. I am not always sure that the orders being given are followed through on. I do wonder if things really get done but that's just because I am not there to see. I will say I was disappointed in the food. I have eaten lunches and dinners there. It wasn't as good as I thought it would have been. My mother is English and likes things a certain way so I was disappointed in that.

They could improve their meals, how often they clean rooms, the monthly cost is too high, and the general smell. My mom has a 1 bedroom that is very roomy and has a great view. It includes microwave, refrigerator, a few cupboards, and sink. The activity director is amazing and has a calendar every month for activities and even some outdoor field trips.

The caregivers and kitchen staff are very friendly. The food is made from scratch and family can eat meals for [Amount removed]. Daily activities for residents. All the residents were friendly and supportive. Negative aspect is lead nurse doesn't seem very compassionate and to be more in charge than the executive director. Also in less than two months I was told they wouldn't be able to give my grandma the level of care they initially agreed to. Even after upping her level of care and charging more.

The touring and move-in process was absolutely excellent. They got me in same day when I was in a bind. If you need a place fast, they were great. But if you want something that's more long-term and cleaner, I would pay extra and go somewhere else. This was the cheapest place I could find, but you get what you pay for. The food is not that great, and they don't have many options for those with dietary restrictions. But the staff are all really nice there.

My mother has recently moved into this community and so far we are pleased with the care that she is receiving from this place. The staff where very helpful upon move in and have taken the time to get to know her on a personal level. She is really liking her apartment and all of the amenities that it came with. Overall she is pleased and that is what is most important.

I only walked into the front 'lounge' area. I didn't have an appointment, shame on me. However the marketing person whom I had been speaking on the phone about the place was very warm and friendly and said that it would be okay to drop in when I had time. I did call about 20 minutes ahead. She was in they said. I checked in when I arrived and was told she would be out in a few minutes. So I looked around their large lounge a bit and looked for a chair to sit in. There were plenty but all were dirty (dirty from spills & stains & hairy. There was however a big old white dog - lab? He lumbered over to me but I'm not fond of animals so he padded away quickly enough. It was 9am-ish when I arrived and about 20 plus minutes later I left without a tour and without ever having spoken to the marketing director. I saw her, talking to a few different people in the office area, not ever acknowledging my presence and seeming none to rushed to do so. During that entire time I did not see nor hear a single resident. I sat in my car to make a phone call (not allot of guest parking) and only then did I see a few residents heading outside to their bus for a field trip.

They don't follow meds instructions, when it says crush meds due to swallowing issues. They close the door and check on them every 2 hrs. Ya right! Understaffed!!! At times there is no RN as they promised.

Our family had an in person tour and we just did not really care for it at all, we felt they did not even really want to give the tour and we just knew this was not the place for our loved one

The staff were cold and unfriendly. Except for the person doing the tour.

I am not very happy with how things have been going at this community for my dad. There has been a few miss communications and the staff seem to always be taking the easiest rout instead of the right way to do things. For example my dad really wants to walk him self to the dinning room since he is able and they will not let him. They make him sit in his wheelchair and push him because its faster then taking the time to patiently walk with him to his meal. I just am not happy overall and hope to see some improvements soon or else I will be making some changes.

I was very dissatisfied with this facility. My father was left(twice) to sit in his urine soak clothes for hours after the facility decided that they could no longer car for him. Instead of stepping up to the plate and providing some help, they just wanted to send him to the hospital and make it the hospital’s responsibility. In my opinion, the facility is understaffed on weekends. Although the staff had to help my father on and off of the toilet, they would often fail to clean the fecal matter off of the toilet set. I would have to call staff to clean the bathroom. A "Place for Mom" did not help me find the facility.

Sapphire is permanently closed now. About a year ago, [name removed] moved out and his apartment there was immaculate and spotless. They would never respond to our requests and didn't refund [name removed]s $[removed] deposit.

I've been here for 2 weeks I've had 2 meals 2 bathes. They let me sit in my own pee for over a hour haven't seen my blanket for 2 weeks they lost one of my footrest for my own personal wheelchair. And they don't answer the call button in a timely fashion. This place doesn't even treat a person like a person they treat you like garbage. If you hate the person you're trying to find a home for this is it.

My father in law was able to get out of the facility on Saturday and walk the streets for hours before a trimet bus driver called the police. We were notified hours after he went missing. With him having dementia this could have been really bad. The facility is in a really bad neighborhood and the streets are super busy. When the police escorted him back to the facility around 9pm that night he had a big cut on his eyebrow and his fingertips were cut. Theyvdidnt seem concerned at all and later we found out this isn't the first time he got out. Today we went to check on him and his room smelled like urine really bad. I pulled back the blanket on his bed and sure enough the mattress had a huge urine stain and so did the underside of his blankets. Unbelievable how these elderly people are treated. Please don't send your loved ones here.

I would not recommend Sapphire at the Amber! My grandfather was only there 36 hours and was left in his wheelchair overnight and ended up falling and having to be transported to the hospital! We moved him out of there immediately!! Not a good choice if your loved ones need care and assistance! I believe right after his accident that the head lady was let go. We were very clear on his needs and to find that they left him in his wheelchair and didn't assist him to bed was infuriating and contributed to his confusion and fall.

Living in this situation is absolutely not for everyone me being one of those. I am 57 years old and have had my own residence until 3 years ago when ended up in a situation that forced me towards this type of living granite some absolutely need and should have this option and I too needed the care for awhile but I didn't realize just how quickly I had moved from complete independence my entire life to dependency without realizing it at all. I'm 57 and there are basically no places for people my age at all usually not until 60 to 65 so I'm grateful for all that I've received but also know it's time for me to move on to independence and my own place again. So I just caution anyone in the situation evaluate your need, how long of the need you'll need and go with that just never lose your voice, your independence nor yourself ever. Thank you.

I was not impressed with my tour at Gateway Care and retirement. It is very institutional feeling, it smelled horrific, and it was extremely hot. It was the most affordable out of the ones I toured.

This is false advertising the [name removed] isn't friendly,the staff aren't well trained,the new supervisor is like a [removed] prison warden...she is rude,unkind,heartless,and untrustworthy!! She forbids the staff and the residents to talk to each other...tore down all the residents arts and crafts projects off the walls, went through staffs personnel files and destroyed important papers that were for the good of that staff...they don't have a nurse at all for the residents cause they quit cause of [removed] and her attitude,activities for the residents is mainly done for them instead of having them do them..the activity director is to busy being [removed] Lil eyes and ears...there is no vechile for the residents to go on outing in,the food is horrible,the care is just as bad residents areicky to get a shower 1x a week..rooms are unkept,there medications given late or not ordered so they go without...that place needs to be shut down...and closed for good....worse assisted living home ever in clatskanie,oregon
