Right At Home

I think we have been working with them for a month and this is the fourth lady that has come to our place. The problem is that they told us that the women knew the chores they were going to do, but they had no patience when they arrived. They were extremely unprofessional. One just walked out during the middle of her shift. It was just a waste of time and energy.

Some of the staff are great, several of the people they sent to care for our parents had to be sent back because all they wanted to do was sit and watch TV all day long for $20/hr. My parents spent several hundred thousand dollars with right at home over many years and in the end- after my father died and we discontinued care for my mom. Now, they are refusing to return my moms deposit- claiming "breach of contract". Really? ? You are going to keep an 80 y/o widows deposit after she paid you hundreds of thousands in fees because of "breach of contract". WOW. We will be starting legal proceedings against them and filing with the BBB, and telling the WORLD about our "experiences". There was no breach, and they cant prove there was one. Yes, there are some great people at RAH. But when the management us this cruel to someone who has paid them so much- I recommend you be very careful. Read the fine print, keep your paperwork, and watch the "help" carefully. Just what caliber of person do you think will do the kind of work they do for $10/hr??? And they charge $20 and up for the "care"! My mom is not the only victim here! For $20/hr you get a glorified baby sitter who may range from "awesome, and dedicated" (occasionally), to someone who is barely capable of communicating in grunts and wants to take a smoke break as often as possible. There are much better options out there, and finally we have found them. Sorry RAH...these things have been bothering me for a long time, but- I figured that this was as good as it got. But when you are so greedy you have to keep an old widows deposit- I am going to tell the world all about my families experience with you. Shame on you management!

This agency was one that worked with the residents in my loved one's community. They are very unorganized, and had very little information. We needed someone to come and remind her about her medication, and the best they could do was have one call her from Seattle and remind her. When we went for our interview, they weren't ready for us, and the person who was supposed to talk to us wasn't there. When she got there she wasn't apologetic, and didn't really seem to know what was going on.

Spoke with the owner who sounded wonderful and the services they offered sounded fantastic. He met with us along with his nurse on Monday, 9/2. told him what we were looking for and he said 'not a problem', I have over 300 people with us. Well, it seems to be a problem. I called a number of times and finally got a call back from him -- no one will fit with my parents needs. He originally said the lift was not an issue -- now all of the sudden it is. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!

Most of the caregivers can't speak understandable English, can't cook meals and forget Dr's appointments or can't drive. When you call the office you may get an answering machine or while on hold get hung up. Very dysfunctional and unprofessional. Not happy at all and would advise looking elsewhere.

I would not recommend Right at Home to anyone in the state of Connecticut. This is far from quality care and there is a lot of lying and manipulation. It is a terrible shame. Please stay away and learn from the experiences of others who have been treated badly.

Why pay more for this company when you can get just as bad service for less money. We had a lazy ignorant person who only complained about her conditions and never bothered to do her tasks. Owner is unbelievable in her attitude. Some of the staff was apologetic for giving us a piece of trash. I have found a great company who is moving into Ozaukee county because they know the competition is terrible.

I contracted with this agency for my elderly grandparents. They charged me for two nursing assessments to determine the level of need, when the service agreement clearly stated $150 for a nursing assessment. Both grandparents are in the same home and I had already spoken to the nurse and explained in extreme detail both their service needs which were the same. The nurse didn't spend an hour with one person and then an hour with the other, but I was charged twice. They also assigned an aide that could not drive when my grandparents are homebound. [Name removed], the owner is also very rude and arrogant. The nurse [name removed] and scheduler were very pleasant and understanding of the difficulties when working with dementia and want to help you.

This company is atrocious! Theycharge extremely high live-in rates for caregivers they send and the caregivers have no idea what the company rules are and don't follow any protocol. They throw caregivers at you who can't speak English, are incompetent, and cry to YOU for more money. Their caregivers have made my life tremendously more difficult and the care they provide is minimal. Further, the only time the Right at Home office responds to you is when you threaten to go somewhere else. It has been caregiver hell dealing with them.

Terrible experience the caregivers had no experience dealing with alzheimers so they would complain to owner. Daily checklist was not completed wash dishes they make, no communicatiin with senior. Senior was treated more as a job no human personal or compassionate care. Same day no call no show for scheduled shifts. Hardship when needing care for senior and no one shows up for work and we need to adjust our schedule to cover. Owner [Removed] also cancelled all care no notice. No coverage for senior. We needed to research another company with alzheimers background and we did and it is much better. Without constantly worrying about parent.

Do not use this agency unless you are willing to tolerate [Removed], incompetence and lies. If you care for your loved one, find another agency.

We were ready to start with RaH and on the day to meet the caregiver the owner showed up 20 minutes late, didn't seem to be there and as we asked questions got disturbed, stood up and walked out!!! The caregiver seemed nice but I would not let this provider babysit my dog!!!!! The owner needs a Hugh attitude adjustment to continue in a service type profession!!
