We haven't compared cost at other places in the area since she has been living there, so not sure how to answer fully. However, our mom says she's happy there and likes the food. I would like for them to clean her room better, but overall, it's clean and in a nice location.

Mom chose Melody Living of Colorado Springs as she met friends on her tour so we decided to go with them. [name removed] at the front desk has been amazing!

Too much curn as far as the staffing goes, typical of these facilities. All of these facilities are too expensive. Nominally $100K per year. You can basically hire 24/7 care for that if you are so inclined.

Unfortunately, inconsistency of care. The facility is very nice and the staff are friendly, but communication has been a problem. There has been a huge turnover of staff in the year my mom has been there. 3 Directors, 2 Wellness Nurses, Maintenance director left, inconsistent care partners. Many times they use nurses or staff from an agency that do not know the resident at all. The Care Plan has not been followed consistently and has needed many changes. [name removed], at the front desk is fantastic and always helpful. She has been there since the beginning.

Our family had an in person tour and it has now been awhile and we do not remember any specifics but from what we do remember is that the community itself is very nice and it was a good experience.

One of the main reasons we chose Melody Living was the continuity of care in that even though it is called an assisted living home, it was explained that even if the residents are bed bound they are able to stay there. The only time they have to be moved to a higher level is if they need daily ivs, tube feeding , and things like that. Even end of life and hospice can be handled here. The other thing we really like is that when you walk in you get a very good feeling. It is beautiful, it is friendly, and the staff seem happy to be there and greet all of the residents by name when passing them. During our tour they offered us lunch and the chef actually came out to talk to us for about 30 minutes and he was great. As far as the food they have twice a month food forums where the residents tell the chef what they want and he puts it on the menu. There have been times where if the residents have a special recipe, he will actually make that recipe. My mom has had absolutely no complaints about the food at all and said it has all been wonderful. It has all around been a great experience.

The facility was very nice and clean. The girl showing us around really cared about my mother and she was accommodating. It just seemed too commercial and not very homey. It was disappointing that the outside didn't have any trees or grassy areas.

We have more involvement with the cooperative staff team, but the lady in the sales department that we work with is just amazing. Our loved one really enjoys the meals there, however the activities are still limited so your pretty much just on your own. If they bring up the level of activities and keep maintaining the staff and head of nursing which is great, we would give it an overall score of 4+

The community has done an amazing job during Covid and has really made an effort. The staff is very friendly, kind and work hard to keep us informed and up to date. I would recommend this community to others.

Melody was a great place to live and make friends when I first moved here. The entire staff made us feel like we were family, and we thought of them the same way. Suddenly, one person was fired without notice. We were shocked. Then, our activities person resigned stating she did not want to be “shown the door”, too. I check this website often. I see the reviews, as few as they were until a few days I looked and saw the many comments about how great Melody is. To me, it’s not great anymore. The caring we felt is virtually absent, I feel. We were told both positions would be filled as soon as possible, but no one has been hired. We have no activity coordinator. Residents are filling in with projects. The reviews were all written on the same day, [removed]. That seems very strange. I asked the folks named in the review and none of them wrote a review on this site. The activities have been greatly exaggerated as well. The chef and crew are awesome! Concierge is great!

Our family had an in person tour and it was negative right off the bat. The lady at the front desk was very cold and did not give a first impression.

I toured Melody Living Lake in the Hills and I was not impressed. It felt cheap. I'd rate it at poor. The staff was nice, but the total experience was not on the level of the other facility in the area that we toured/chose. Mom deserved the best in the area.

Our experience was a difficult one, the people handling our loved one directly were very good, but they just had limited staff and it was difficult to work with the administration. Things were not getting done, requests were not being followed through. The care was not handled properly, we just had to repeat requests all the time. Shortly after we left they completely changed staff and management.

I do not recommend this senior living community due to ongoing and serious safety failures. For over a year, exterior doors did not lock properly, including overnight, despite repeated concerns. This occurred during a period of car break-ins and thefts in the parking lot, putting residents at clear risk. A particularly alarming incident involved a resident who went missing. Nursing staff failed to notify the family and did not initiate proper elopement procedures for over 12 hours. The care staff was told the resident was with family, which was untrue—the resident was later found inside the facility. This represents a critical breakdown in communication, monitoring, and protocol. There have also been excessive resident falls, raising concerns about supervision and care planning. Additionally, residents with memory-care needs were housed in assisted living rather than an appropriate secured memory-care setting, which is unsafe and unacceptable. Rather than addressing these systemic i

Not happy at all. Said they could take her and handle her and then kicked her out. Beautiful clean places and great people. The meals seemed real nice but it was way to expensive. We gave the overall experience a 1 for what happened.

My loved one has been a resident for two plus years. We have finally had enough and have freed them. 5 directors, 3 wellness directors 1 1/2 activities directors…..primarily abandoned position. … if your loved one likes videos this is your home!!! Always PROMISED it will get better all we got was rate increase. New director on the job since April 22. She has overseen 2 “restrictions periods “. Where residents are required to eat in their rooms and activities cancelled. Don’t miss that lockdown twice since April 22!!!! Meals were up to two hours late.. on a happy note they were given a coloring book….REALLY? Confined to your room for 5 days and you get a coloring book? Check the citations for this place. Please do your homework. Not enough space for the failed promises. But director will be happy to provide a multitude of excuses!! The food was pretty good.
