I tried one other here in Del Rio and it was terrible. I know how hard it is to get good people and they do pretty well, but food could improve. They are good people doing a difficult job I will share this with the staff, and will continue paying whatever they charge

Overall it has been good. I think according to my wife the care has been good and activities ok. Cleanliness good and room size ok. The biggest complaint I here is the food not being very good and served cold at times. One other thing my wife is getting a little upset with is the guy in the room next to her keeps wondering in and she hast to show him where his room is.

When it comes to the activities I do not really know, I know they gave them but my mom. It's hard to get her to go she likes her room. Overall, they have been great to mom and we would most definitely recommend them to others. They have been in transition with meals dinning and it's not bad they are just trying to make improvements. One thing I would change not a huge deal, they have to open and let you in the door. They do not have code access but sometimes it takes the workers a bit to. Come open the door but that's usually weekends evenings less employees there.

We chose The Gardenias because I was looking for respite care and didn't need some place permanent, just if I ever needed to leave and they were able to work with me on that. The prices here were also fair. The room sizes were great, very large. The food was not that great, they did not seem to have a lot of variety, but overall I would recommend depending on the needs of the person.

My mother liked it here. They did a good job with caring for her. The staff was very friendly. It would have been nice if they were a little better with answering the phone but this might have been because they were slightly understaffed. They did the best they could. They were pretty good about communicating with me about my mother's care and would reach out to me if there was ever an issue.

I have had my mom here for a short while but in that time I've only seen caring and friendly staff trying to do a job I feel so many really do not understand especially with dementia patients. I feel no place is like home but if you have to go to outside sources you hope things go well. I cannot visit as often as I would like to but I feel comfortable that mom is being cared for. I appreciate all the staff do for my mom and pray if they are ever in need that someone be there for them in the same way.

I've never had any issues since my great aunt has been in the facility . She's happy in this community and have not complained at all. I would like a li more interaction activity wise.

This is probably the best fit for us. The residents seem to be well cared for. Food smelled great! Also like the intermediate size population - big enough to have others to interact with, but small enough for individual attention.

I had a good experience during my tour of this community. Everyone was polite, and kind to my family, and I. From what I saw the community looked nice, and clean. The staff I met was friendly, and my questions were answered. Everything went well, but I did find a better fit for my mother, and her needs.

Toured this facility. Director was very pleasant and answered my questions. Was pleased at the appearance of the facility. Currently there are 17 patients with 3:1 caregivers. Had nice fenced in yard. Rooms were nicely decorated. I got there at 4:00 pm and only saw 4 patients out of their rooms. I didn't see any activities; place was very quiet. If this becomes one of my contenders will go back earlier in the day to view patient activities.

We got there and they had no clue we were coming we were supposed to come for lunch and they didn't even have one set up for us so me and my wife had to turn back around. The place at least looked clean, but they were not prepared for us at all.

My experience with Gardenias is ok. No complaints, just ok services.

Brand new and very nice. Only 3 residents at this time, rooms are based on 2 per room. Looked very bland and not much activies, maybe because its new. Kind of strict rules.

Horrible! This facility could be so much better and worth every penny spent, if management was better. They’re always short staffed, no one answers the phone/door, and facility is dirty (floors sticky, resident rooms are filthy). This use to be a nice place where residents would do for themselves, but it’s a full nursing home. Majority of all the residents are in wheel chairs, the food is unbearable (to eat and to look at). My mother is currently in the facility now and has lost so much weight due to malnutrition (in my opinion). Activities are few to none, half of the time the residents are sleep in the dining room. It’s just sad at this point. I’ve made the state aware with no repercussions, seems as if the states doesn’t care either.

I would tell them to please find another place. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Was not impressed, the building was nice but not clean. At the time of my visit there should have been some activity going on, but there was none. Hand written menu that read like a kid's menu, and the hand written activities calendar centered around watching tv and sing alongs. My gut feeling was that these were just for show in case the state showed up. I saw no staff or residents. When I remarked about this, I was told the caretakers were probably in the back. She called them to come say hey but the just walked by and smiled, wearing street clothes, no scrubs. Everything about my visit told me this place is not run very professionally.

It's almost as if the staff was non-existent, they were nice enough if you could get their attention, but getting their attention could be difficult. They said they were doing activities, but we dropped in at all hours and never saw anything. It's a dementia community, they would put the medication in front of her, and not pay any attention to if they were taking their medicine. Nobody seems to know what's going on until there is an issue, or a problem. They don't have enough staff. They are meeting or exceeding what the law says, but it's not enough for the residents they have there.

The staff can be rude and lack adequate skill level of care the food is not very appealing no activities the owner does not hold herself accountable
