They have a lot of activities but the rooms are smaller so it's a trade off. They were not bad. It was an older style building, more like hotel or a house back east somewhere. It had the darker wood and hardwood floors but it was a little more stark - no art or anything hanging on the walls. There were lots of activities going on. They have like an activity room but it didn't have the same feel that my mom wanted. It's hard to tell just from a visit. they have a swimming pool which is great for people who do water aerobics but my mom is afraid of the water so that wouldn't do her any good. The facility was wonderful and the people were wonderful but it just wasn't the place for my mom.

This is my father-in-law's 2nd experience at an assisted living center. The other residents here are more outgoing so he has a lot of daily conversation. He really enjoys the happy hour on Friday. The facility itself is smaller which makes it feel more homey. While he complains about the food (he is pretty fussy), he is getting plenty to eat. He has made new friends even though most are women. And the residents watch out for each other. The staff is friendly and even though he is relatively healthy again, they keep an eye on his needs. They dispense his meds appropriately. The cost is the same as his prior place but his experience here is much better. We made the right decision about moving him to Harmony.

This really surprised me, Harmony was a very nice place and my mother liked it a lot. Patricia was very welcoming and gave us a great tour. I liked the fact that the aides are long term, we met one that had been there since Harmony was opened. That really impressed me.

My mother has been there for several years. She has been cared for very well although there has been a high turnover of staff. The dining room facility is lovely, and the food and service are excellent.

The staff had been excellent! It's a horrible thing to have do deal with and the staff has been great. My grandad's not been easy, I know that much. I realize the cost is high but for the care that I'm seeing and for what it takes to take care of him, it's fair. The few problems I've had happen were in the first month. Things like meds that run empty that should have been called in. I think we've pretty much gotten that handled. I thought they'd do a little bit more that what they do as far as activities but my grandad isn't able to participate anyway.

i'm not sure they had enough staff to encourage more participation from the residents, sometimes the sale is more than what they actually provide. I feel they could have used more staff, they didn't have enough for one on one. If your loved one can participate in any group activities and get up and join them, then they can handle anything "group" but they really can't handle one on one. We had to hire someone to come and feed him because everyone else was running around. The activities also are for a certain level of patient, if you're up and about and able to come then you have lots of fun, but if you can't then you're left out.

They're friendly and very helpful. From what I've seen the care services and the activities seem pretty good. I've seen sing a longs and I know they have church services that my step dad attends. They've been trying to work with us pretty well. We're waiting on getting financial assistance from the VA and Hundred Palms has been working with us to make sure we can afford to keep him there until we get some help. They're good with communication. My step father seems very happy and comfortable there which is the most important thing. He's got his own room in what they call a companion suite. There is a walk in closet, a bathroom and a kitchenette and then two separate bedrooms that are a good size.

I've been there twice. Once when my mother was there. Everything seems pretty nice. The staff seem pretty good. Whether my mother likes it doesn't count because she wants to come home. She admitted that she liked it there but everytime I call her she says she wants to go home. I think she's being well taken care of there. When I was visiting her there was bingo going on and I guess there's some other things. I guess she goes out of her room and watches other people and gets some interaction but I don't know how much she participates in things.

visited on August 1... lovely grounds, historic building, clean, friendly, well priced and straight forward. A little far from doctors in Whittier.

The facility is well-cared for and the grounds are clean. The staff...the front desk staff and the first floor staff are very friendly but the fourth floor - the skilled nursing floor - they don't even talk to you. My mom's on the first floor, the memory care unit, so they're pretty good. The Emeritus is more expensive than some of the other facilities we looked at. They have one doctor and one nurse so I don't think they're overly well-staffed in that area.

I'm not not absolutely positive about the value. I'd like to see and RN on staff but I think they do a fine job. My dad wanted to try it out so he stayed in The Lexington for a week. They seem to have a lot of activities but my dad is not interested in games or dancing or anything . The activites they offered are great but I don't think there's any place that would keep my dad excited. The food is okay for what it is. It's adequate. It's well balanced and better than high school cafeteria food. For the price, it's a good value. I feel like business is the 1st priority with all these places. The people are very nice and caring but I know that they want our business. They've been very attentive and he was comfortable there. I would (and have) recommend that people go have a look.

Small and cozy. Many of the residents were wheelchair bound. There was a women sitting in the foyer, sleeping. This did not look good.well.

Really like this place, however may not be in our price range

I chose this community for my mom because she does have a friend who is also in this location. It was also very nice, clean and friendly. We looked at several other places and this one really stood out among them. Just was the right fit for my mom.

Has a "family" atmosphere. My mother is doing things she never thought she could do. Lots of activities. Does need new carpet in open areas.

5-9-2013 This is the best I have found. The monthly fee is $2,200 and that is all inclusive.

Good size kitchen, living room and bedroom with bath. Menu by former chef of local restaurant. Choices and works with residents on meal choices.Rooms have call lights in bedroom and bath. Necklace alerts would have to be privately purchased.
