The staff worked hard to make my friend [name removed] feel as comfortable as possible. It was a difficult situation and they really helped her adjust to the change.

The staff is very caring and friendly to both the person living there and their family. They made sure to check in and keep an eye on everyone there. They have a wide variety of activities, and if the person want to just watch, they can. It is a smaller place, which was perfect for what my mother needed.

The hardest thing to do is move your parent into a new home! Especially when they don’t understand why or don’t feel the need to! I knew right away after the first meeting with them that this was the best place for her! They made every step of the daunting process easier and made us feel at ease with it all. Once moved in staff embraced mom’s “attitude and ways” and took great care of her all the way through the end. In mom’s words, this really is a nice place even though I don’t need to be here! I can’t say enough about how wonderful staff was and how much the enjoyed her. I highly recommend this facility if you’re wondering if this place is good enough for my parent. It is!

From the first phone call, we knew this was the right place for our father. He needed a place where he could get good care, and the family could have the peace of mind knowing he was in good capable hands. The facility is very inviting and warm. They provided a place for family to gather and discuss the health needs of our father. They helped us set up hospice care and worked closely with them throughout the process.

My Dad has moved back home but it was a very positive experience. The staff and accommodations were both lovely and based on the experience we would absolutely recommend Personal Care Senior Living to other families.

The size of facility made it feel like staff had time for each resident and truly made it more personal just as the name suggests. The rooms were a little on the smaller side, but very doable for mom and what she needed. It was very expensive.

I'd like to start by saying that the staff have all been wonderful. My dad's room is always picked up and vacuumed. I'm always filled in on everything that's going on. The move in process was a challenge due to my dad's condition, but we've been here a few months and he is settling in nicely. The food is good quality. My dad is a very picky eater, so it's hard to gauge. All in all, this is a pretty wonderful home for my dad. I would recommend highly to anyone!

All of the staff at Personal Care Senior Living Columbia Heights seem friendly. I'm not crazy about the overall communication with my family. It has taken three months for them to trim her nails, even after several requests. She was taken to the hospital yesterday and we weren't able to get a hold of anyone at the facility to find out if she was there alone or not. Because it is a newer facility, I'm giving them a little grace to allow them time to get a little more organized.

I would definitely recommend this facility to others! I am very impressed with the director, [name removed], the nurse, [name removed], activity director, [name removed], and all of the other aides. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Common areas and rooms are very clean and sunny!

Clean and open spaces and common areas. Nice modern vibe. Big plus. Director and Lead Nurse are compassionate and professional. Couldn't really ask for more from them. Concerns have been immediately addressed and resolution has been as good as can be expected. Food isn't great. But in room fridge/kitchenette allows family to supplement. Daily care attendants have been meeting most needs and requests. When things start to slip or get missed though, Director and/or Lead Nurse have been quick to help remedy. Good, competent, and consistent help is hard to find so expectations of the quality of care coming from the frontline/daily attendants has been adjusted accordingly. Food is often cold, but my mom takes meals in her room so this may contribute to that aspect. Generally the meals don't look super appetizing. But they do seem to meet basic nutritional requirements. Meals are probably a small step above hospital food.

We chose this facility because they had the ability to provide a joining room for my parents. They are usually designed for one person but they were able to accommodate us. They also could provide the care my dad needed which was a hoyer lift. It is a privately owned facility and they focus more on the people than the profit. I would recommend Person Care Senior Living to others looking.

They just did not take care of her. Dirty diapers, sores on her bottom. Left her in her room with the door closed. Broke her bed and didn't tell me. Skipped her nebs, left the room a mess, put dirty sheets on her bed that had poop on them. They pulled them out of her hamper. Male nurse was yelling at her when I walked in one day. I reported him. He was still there after it, he even threaten me saying I better watch myself, they were short handed. One night I went there because my mom called me at home because she needed help. I pulled up and 4 workers were outside by a car with men smoking, I went in the building and my mom was in bed with poop all over because she was having diarrhea. Some of it was dried that is how long she was sitting in her poop. Said she kept pushing the button but no one came, I can go on and on. Her new recliner was so stained with poop and smelled. I tried cleaning but I couldn't get it clean. I bought pads for them to use but they never put them on her chair. I complained over and over but nothing changed. Cold meals, told she couldn't have juice or coffee at night, I bought her snacks, pop, candy and snacks. And they wouldn't get them for her. She couldn't walk. I walked in one day and they had her on the transport and she was falling out of it. I had to show them how it worked. Finally they told me they couldn't take care of her, so I moved her to a skilled nursing home. It wasn't much better, they just can't find good workers and they are short staffed. My mom passed away [date removed]. Her last year of her life was really bad. She didn't deserve to be treated the way she was. I don't get it. My mom was a wonderful person and mother.
