Nice place

Our experience with Spring Meadows at Trumbull has been a positive one, overall. It's a nice looking place, and the staff all seem very friendly and professional. They do a good job looking after the residents, and the facility is always very clean. Really the only issue we've had was some miscommunication during the move-in process, everything else has gone very well.

Great Option for Independent Seniors

Bella Terra is truly beautiful earth. The grounds are beautiful and the building is as if you are entering a luxury resort. The public rooms are beautifully decorated and the dining experience is "restaurant like". The menu is diverse and delicious! There are activities like Bingo, Baking, and Swimming, and live entertainers too. Medication management and motion detection security is provided. If you or your loved one only need a little support, this is a great place to be. However, the assisted living side is, unfortunately, another story. There is a SIGNIFICANT gap between what the sales department represents as the level of care available and what actually happens in assisted living at Bella Terra. A call bell is rented from the facility and nursing assistants are available to help you/ your loved one. The call answer time leaves a lot to be desired but when the aides do come to help they are attentive to you needs. I am reminded that this is not a nursing facility and the level of care reflects that. Be sure to ask the ratio between caregivers and residents on the assisted living side. I did not and wish I had. With that said, Bella Terra is a beautiful place and overall a very nice experience.

My Friend Is Well Here

My friend seems to be doing pretty well here at this community. From what my daughter has told me she is still adjusting to the community. This is a nice community with kind people. It is a locked down facility, so we know she is safe. She seems to be well here. It is a work a progress.

Great home for loved one!

The Spring Meadows Summit is a very nice community. It is really well kept and clean throughout. My loved one is enjoying the transition to the Spring Meadows. We are very satisfied with the care that the staff have been providing to my loved one. I would like to see the staff keep more of a watchful eye to medical care. When funds run out they do not guarantee a bed for our loved one.

Great staff in expensive enviorons

Mom's been there for less than 2 weeks and on the plus side: Staff and administrators are lovely. They are all friendly, responsive, patient and seem genuinely happy. On the minus side (and this might be true at all facilities of this kind), even though it is called "assisted living," the cost of assistance comes in addition to the rental fee and is very expensive. Every added bit of assistance after 2 things puts the residents into a new "points" category and adds hundreds of dollars a month to the cost. Also, if a resident chooses to eat 2 meals per day in the restaurant as opposed to 3, there is no reduction in monthly rent, which seems unfair to those who prefer to have one meal per day out or in their apartment. The "red carpet host" program, which we were told means that a seasoned resident would help mom get comfortable, hasn't really been followed through on but we think that overall, she feels likes the place and things will work out.

My mother is very pleased with the accommodations, and she likes it there.

My mother is very pleased with the accommodations, and she likes it there. The food is good. The only complaint is that it gets warm even with the thermostat turned down and the window open. You still need a fan to get some air flow. It seems that the air is not on in the room, but it's on in the offices. Other than that it seems to be working out okay, I would give them a four.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

We toured this facility while looking into care options for a loved one. Spring Meadows was a nice looking place overall! However at the time we toured it wasn't really an option for Dad, he needed some degree of memory care (which they were working on but hadn't fully implemented at the time of our tour.) Dad also likes to take walks, and this place was not located in a good area for that. But the facility itself was well kept and clean, and the staff seemed friendly and professional. It is worth a look if you're searching in the area!

Bella Terra is a clean, well designed facility. The apartment seems lovely; it is bright and sunny and well appointed. There are a wide variety of activities and seem well received. There are some issues. The food is not of the healthiest variety. The food value is negligible for the money. There are issues with laundry as there are not quite adequate facilities for residents. Often, when questioned, the response to concerns is "Yes, we get a lot of complaints about that". Yet, nothing changes. Every detail incurs a charge to the resident, so the place is costly. However, since my mom seems to be adjusted we will go forward and hope it continues to provide a good atmosphere for her. Despite its price, it definitely was the nicest place in the Ocean county area.

Nice place overall, communication could use some work

Overall I think they do a good job at Bella Terra. The facility itself is always well kept and clean, and they take great care of my loved one. She really seems to enjoy it here! My only complaint is that their communication and follow-through could use a lot of work. You have to be very persistent to get any sort of response from them, at times.

Nice place, not a great fit for us

I thought they did a nice job overall at Brandywine at Seaside Pointe, however it just wasn't a great fit for my loved one. The facility itself was always clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed very friendly. They have all sorts of activities and events going on! Unforuntately it was just a bit too active and busy for my loved one, she does much better in a calm, quiet environment.

Excellent memory care section!

I have had two loved ones stay at this facility, and their experiences were very different. Currently I have a loved one here in their memory care section, and they do an absolutely fantastic job with that. The aides are friendly, caring, and patient, and they take great care of her. However when my father was in their assisted living section he did not enjoy it. He was at a stage of care that was in-between two different levels that they provide, and he just was not comfortable. He needed more assistance than their lowest level of care provided, but he felt that the level of care they placed him in was too controlling and too intense.

I think it's a very pleasant place. I really like the facility and the room. It's cheerful. The staff is very nice. There is a little confusion in terms of the care. Once they gave him the wrong medication, and a few times. they did not send someone to put on his ankle brace. The food is very good, and it is accessible to people who don't drive, which is very helpful to me.

Good experience at Brandywine

My Mom joined the Brandywine family this year. This is a place where she is well taken care of. The staff is caring, kind and friendly. The admission process was quick and smooth. There is a full calendar of activities every day and she raves about the meals. There was even a time that she didn't want to leave her exercise class to 'Big Band Music' to visit with us. It's a relief to see her adjusting to a new and fuller life than before at age 91.

I toured this community when I was looking into care options for a loved one. This was a very nice looking place overall, it was clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed friendly and professional. This was a large community, and had more of a hotel feel than a homey feel in many areas. Although it was nice it was also one of the more expensive options I saw while touring.
