My mother had to be moved here temporarily because of damage at her home location. It was a wonderful experience. [name removed] and the staff were fantastic. The rooms are very large. And my mother enjoyed the residents. If you want an assisted living facility that is top notch, this is a place to be.

My mom was a resident the last year of her life. The care was extraordinary. The staff has continual smiles on their faces and always willing to help. The medical care is attentive, prompt and any issues immediately communicated to me. When my mom was sick the staff always looked in on her and called me with any new recommendations. My mom made a few friends at the home and enjoyed their company. Her unit was always clean. I trusted all the staff in this facility and when I was away, I knew my mom was in good hands.

caring staff led us every step of the way through preadmission/admission day to help make my father's transition as smooth as possible and to provide emotional support to my family. Everyone on the staff helped to make my father feel welcomed and engaged in his new sorroundings, our frequent visits and calls were always met with reassurance and caring concern. The facility is beautiful. "homey" and bright, immaculately clean and neat. The food is very good. From the administrator on down, the entire staff is to be commended for knowing all residents names and treating them like members of their own family as well as always being available to address a family's concerns.

I will be moving to the Hearth at Southbury. The people there have been very helpful and have taken the time to meet with me and explain everything. I am looking forward to the the help that will be able to provide to me. I know I will feel safe at the hearth.

[name removed] was very helpful during my search for assited living for my father. She went out of her way to help me with so many things even after she knew that Dad needed a higher level of care than he could receive at Spring Meadows. I only wish I could have had Dad live there

I enjoy everything, great food, lots going on all the time, great location so I can go for walks outside, I feel safe and most of all everyone is so friendly.

Dementia affects everyone differently. My Mother was upset by her loss of time and place, reclusive, and frequently in tears until she moved to Brandywine. Thanks to the highly skilled and well trained caregivers who immediately established a rapport with her, she settled into a routine that calmed her, reassured her and comforted her. The tears went away. She trusted her caregivers to guide her through the day. She was soon participating in many activities - morning exercise class, jewelry making, even painting. She never missed the weekly social with live entertainment and enjoyed the music. The entire staff is dedicated to providing high quality resident care. They always made time to discuss Mom’s needs and address any of our concerns. Traveling even a short distance was difficult for Mom. At Brandywine everything she needed was on site. Her doctor visited Brandywine weekly and saw residents as needed. A podiatrist made monthly rounds.The mobile dentist brought a fully equipped office on site, providing excellent, affordable care. Many diagnostic and medical tests could be done on site. Even banking and boutique shopping was available. If you want the best possible care for your loved one, explore Brandywine. Life there is beautiful.

We love it! Mom was joining in activities the day we came to sign her lease. We were welcomed with such hospitality from everyone. We know mom is going to be safe and live a social life at The Hearth At Southbury .

We needed to move mom quickly and had heard from our attorney and people in town that The Hearth At Southbury was a special place; and boy were they right [Removed] were so helpful we are looking forward to mom’s move.

My Mom lives in the memory care at this community and I couldn't be happier with the progress she has made and the way she is doing. She was living home with an aid prior to moving in and was so lonely and miserable that it made me cry on a daily basis. Moving her into this community was the best decision I ever made even though getting her to move was not the easiest process. She was very resistant and the first few days were rough but the staff was great and helped her feel at home. 3 months later she is now happier than I have seen her in a while and she has made friends and is participating in activities that I never thought she would have. There is nothing more in the world that would make me happier than the smile I now see on my mom's face when I visit her here.

I was very nervous about moving my mom to assisted living. It was a waste of time to worry because Brandywine residence is perfect for my mom. The staff are very attentive and loving to all the residents. There are many activities to keep busy or just relax by the fireplace. This has been a great experience.

Sorry to say [Removed] got a rocky start, but everyone was very accommodating. She is very happy here now and the family is at ease now knowing our loved one is in friendly and loving care. She’s very happy and consider Brandy Wine home, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My mom has only been in Brandywine for a little over a week. The care and compassion shown by the entire staff is remarkable compared to other facilities she has been in and other places we visited before making our decision. We are convinced we made the right decision. When employees like their jobs it shows and It is more then evident that Brandywine employees like there jobs. I would list all the employees that have gone beyond and above but would be afraid I would leave someone out. If you are unsure start with [Removed] who's compassion is sincere and comes naturally.

It's a hard decision to move a family member from their home. My mom is 90, and last year I saw it was starting to get hard for her to take care of herself. I hired some care, but my mom lived 30 min. from me and I was traveling there all the time to make sure everything was good. She didn't like someone there and complained a lot. I realized this was not going to workout, she was not happy, and I was stressed out all the time. I checked out a few Assisted Living facilities, but when I went to Brandall I immediately felt a warm feeling when I walked in. Everyone was smiling and saying hello to me. There was music playing and the person at the front desk was so nice and cheery. I met with [removed], Executive Director and [removed], Director of Community Relations and was given a tour and a lot of information. I immediately felt this was the place! Fast forward a little, with a lot of help and guidance from [removed names] my mom is now a resident there now. I have been extremely happy now that my mom has been there since the end of June. She is still adjusting and has met a lot of friends. She tries to participate in some of the activities, and there is a full monthly calendar with a ton of nice things to choose from, thank you [removed]! Everyone works very hard to make the resident comfortable and happy. [removed names] have been a great source of strength for me in the beginning and continues to be now. They are truly wonderful! I talk to [removed], the Director of Nursing about different things that come up about my mom and she is always available for me, and I thank her! From [removed names], and all the hard working nurses and aids, Social Director, [removed], Food and Beverage, Engineering, Housekeeping, they are all amazing. Brandall has a lot of very talented employees that make the activities very fun. To wrap this up, I have found Brandall to be a wonderful Assisted Living home with a very professional, warm and loving atmosphere. Thank you, Brandall!!! [removed]

In 2014 when mom broke her hip and couldn't live alone anymore we needed to find an assisted living facility that was right for her. We toured 4 facilities but for various reasons weren't comfortable with any of them. Brandywine was the last one on our list. As soon as we walked in we knew this was the place for mom. It was not too big, not too small and was very homey. Mom has been there a little over three years now and is very happy. Of course she would like to turn back time and be in her own home but Brandywine has now become her second home. She now has a life being around people, participating in daily activities, and most important she is happy and safe. The nursing staff is fantastic and the people who run the daily activities are great! The entire staff is so friendly and really look out for mom. If any problems arise, the staff addresses them immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend Brandywine to anyone.

Great place the staff is cheerful and friendly. The care is the best around.. the place is like being at a country club!

My mother has been a resident of Brandywine at Howell since July, 2013. It was a very difficult decision for my family to make, but we knew that it was no longer safe for her to live by herself. We visited other facilities, but when we visited Brandywine, we just knew that this was going to be our mom's new home. Everyone was so welcoming to her and made her feel at home instantly. Because her Alzheimer's has progressed, we had to move her to the Reflections Unit at Brandywine. They made the transition so easy and she adjusted very nicely. We cannot thank the entire staff enough for the amazing care they give our mom on a daily basis. We definitely made the right decision.

Now that almost a month has passed since my father became a resident at Brandywine Living, I wanted to send a message to praise the entire staff for the wonderful job they do every day!! Every employee I have met has the best interests of each resident in mind and they approach their jobs with an open heart and a sincere soul! They treat the residents with total respect and enthusiastically greet residents, family and visitors too! My highest appreciation with the Wellness team, the concierge, the drivers, the dining staff and a special thanks to you ,the directors of such a wonderful staff! The grounds are beautiful. The memory care has a private enclosed garden and they are growing tomatoes currently. The garden has a table and chairs for the residents to sit. The unit is set up as a circle so the residents are always able to get back to their room. They offer daily activities. The caregivers are taking good care of mom and I would recommend this community.
