I was a patient at Sherbrooke Village. Everyone was very nice, and took good care of me. It is a beautiful place to recover.

The people at Sherbrooke Village went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my mom had everything she needs. My mother can be difficult, and the staff at Sherbrooke were patient and kind.

Very nice staff. The facility is in the process of remodeling, so a little chaotic sometimes. The assisted living should not be confused with the care/rehab facility. They have been running a little short staffed but everything get taken care of.

We have a great cleaning lady. All the staff are friendly, except for one and she's warming up to me. The quality of care - it's very good. For meals, we are served the heavy meal at lunch and the light meal at dinner. The meals are hit and miss. Rice and potatoes are a staple. As a diabetic, they are not healthy. As far as activities, I'm not interested in much except painting. Value for cost, I'm in a 350 square foot apartment. It's taking all of my check.

We probably recommend Rainbow Health Care to them.

Nursing staff is very nice. Treat her like a person not a patient.

We are satisfied with Rainbow Health Care Community. Friendly. It is closer to our(my husband and my home). The price is reasonable and the staff is willing to help. It is small community and not a lot of traffic.

I toured this facility and it was ok. Our tour guide was nice, but it definitely has the vibe/feel of a nursing home versus Assisted Living. I'd say it was the most bang for the buck considering other facilities in the area.

It's a fairly good value for the dollar. The staff has been very caring, and they really try to help my loved one and make her comfortable. Their activities director is just awesome. There aren't as many activities on the memory care side, but they definitely make an effort. She'll come over and paint their nails. There are singing events and bible studies. She'll take some of the memory care residents over to bingo on the assisted living side, which I really appreciate. She's probably the best activities director I've ever met - they really struck gold with her. One area for improvement is the food. Sometimes it doesn't look very appetizing. I believe they can ask for other things, but I don't know that that's communicated well enough. And some of the staff assist with feeding, but others don't.

We really liked the community and thought the community and staff were nice.

I have been a resident at Sherbrooke Village several times over the past few years. They know me well and treat me like family. I would never go anywhere else for rehab.

I had a great experience at Sherbrooke Village. It's a beautiful community. The therapists were wonderful and got me back home.

This seemed like a clean nice community when we took our tour. This community is a little larger and farther away than we were looking for. The people we met during the tour were nice.

The community was what I was looking for, but had issues with them not letting husband administer his own medications for Parkinson's. By not getting them on time, he had several falls and was moved to the nursing side and that is 3 times the cost. My husband wanted to be there and was happy with Silver Pond but not the nursing side.

Our loved one rarely likes the food, we bring her meals several times a week and she likes that food. [name removed] really tries hard to make things good for the residents. We really appreciate her. Our loved one has made a lot of friends and is doing a lot better than she did being at home.

Faith based community (primarily Catholic). Nice grounds. Assisted Living is acceptable. Less expensive than the newer (for profit) places we visited. A downside is having to travel through the (larger) Skilled nursing units to get to the Chapel as that can be somewhat depressing. Nice to have skilled nursing and Rehab both on same site with Assisted. Our dad was in Rehab here so had tasted the food (made in same kitchen and delivered to Rehab - often cold by then), so he was not interested.

When i took a tour of the community the hallway that i was walking along was very dark. I didn't like where it was located it was right by a busy highway. It was an up-kept community with friendly staff from what i saw. The interaction between the residents and the staff looked positive.

We were in the assisted living portion of the community. They had changed hands during our stay, and they didn't want to accommodate the level of care we needed, we were going to need memory care, or have an agency come in and provide the extra care. The assisted living was okay, but I didn't like the memory care area. We had an agency come in for a while, and they did a good job, but paying for both a care agency and an assisted living community was just too much.

As with all facilities Genesis has it's staff that are genuine in providing care to it's residents, it also has many that are there to simply clock in/out with no regards of compassion for those they care for. Genesis is one of the lowest paying facilities in the Des Moines area which probably has alot to do with the staff that they pull in and are able to keep. Cosmetic wise the facility has alot to be desired. When I visited this facility I found some staff that appeared to be under the influence of either medication that probably was not prescribed to them driectly or some form of street drug or alcohol , not someone I'd feel safe with leaving my loved one with to be responsible for. I have seen worse facilities but I have seen so much better also. I won't be returning to this one nor will I consider employment through them as initially intended.

I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. My loved one fell and it was not handled well by the care staff and management. The doctor told the staff to do it one way and I believe the nurses should have suggested another way to assist my loved one's care. The staff were good to work with if I had questions or concerns up until the accident.
