My Dad loves the food and the amount of independence he's given. All the staff are friendly and receptive to questions and requests

They do a good job. They are very clean and the staff is friendly. The only thing on the activities side, is that it seems like there is a lot of the same stuff going on. The food is excellent. They seemed to me like they were willing to accommodate whatever needed to happen to make whatever needed to happen for our loved one. They gave me the impression that they were the most capable for our situation.

Landmark is a beautiful facility - the rooms are spacious and the meals are delicious. We found that while they are very friendly and accommodating when you move in, they are very strong with their schedules and come on very strong. I think if they had backed off a little the first few days and let new move ins get adjusted to everything we may have had a better experience. Because they are quite new I think they are trying to stick to the rules in a strong way and scare the elderly by coming on strong and making the residents feel overwhelmed. Because they are not a nursing home facility made it impossible for our friends to stay there as one of them needed the nursing help.

Some of the staff are very nice, some are not very friendly. They could keep his room a little cleaner. They do a lot of fun activities. The food is good. Apartment size is great.

What we like the most about the community is that everyone has been so kind and helpful. Food seems to be processed and too salty for mom. Most meals she says she can't eat because of the salt.

My father moved into the Legacy in [date removed]. The facility had several interim Assisted Living Directors. Things improved when there was a permanent person hired. However, we had to request meetings to discuss ongoing issues. Eventually we put cameras in my father's room. He couldn't always provide an accurate story of what may have happened. Staff training related to catheter care was subpar. My review would have been better if Lifespark hadn't bought the Legacy and renamed it [removed]. Lifespark doesn't see personalized care, unless you plan to pay a lot more money. We moved my father before he would have had an increase of more than $[removed]. He was already on one of the higher care packages. Lifespark chose to part ways with staff who knew what they were doing. Our family didn't realize how poor services were until we moved. Activities were great. [name removed] does her job well.

I would recommend you read the fine print and request information in writing. Based on the experience, I would recommend Highland Senior Living to other families based on the experience so far.

The people at The Legacy are very friendly and helpful. They were very easy to work with and treated our mother with so much respect and grace. The move-in process was also very easy. Our mother was very well taken care of, although anytime there was a change of medication or as she got worse, it did take a little time to get all the staff updated and on board with new treatment plans. But she was very well cared for during her time there.

Look around closely. At the moment we are not sure if we would recommend the community to others, but maybe.

We like the facilities, beautiful and clean. The staff is also nice for the most part. We just were taken back by an incident that happens couple of weeks ago with our relative. We have called the office numerous times on that day and no answer either. Anyways, I just hope this was an isolated situation.

We were attracted to them because, not having to move to a different unit if her care needs changed was a big one, also the fact that it does NOT have a la carts pricing and we like the décor and outside fountain. Also having a full kitchen unlike Sunrise. Another reason for picking legacy is that the intake staff was more respectful to my mom than staff at some of the other places. ON some of the tours elsewhere the staff would talk to the family as if my mom was not there. [name removed] on the other hand took care to talk directly to my mom

Like any new community, they are struggling to find staff & keep staff. They need to provide large glasses of water with every meal as dehydration is a problem for the elderly. Glasses are tiny & water not automatically served. Food is meh. By our 3rd rent payment the rent increased by $[removed], which did not seem right

There’s been a “getting used to every thing” time but we are happy. It is not cheap to live here but the care my wire needs is costly. The food is pretty good and if they serve something we don’t like they do offer an alternative option. The one issue is the pharmacy program they offer. It’s hard to find insurance that covers medications because it is not a preferred pharmacy.

Small, quiet community. My dad would like to socialize a bit more with others. They do not help with set up dr appts or any other appt. But, it is listed on the "cares" They've had 5 different nurses work there. But, this last one has been there at least 6 weeks and is attentive.

When my mom arrived, they were understaffed and they didn't know she was coming on the day she actually arrived. It was tough but, to would say the staff was nice. Some staff members had very thick accents and that was tough. They were all very nice. They had some musical activities that was especially wonderful! They had some fun family get togethers- those were really great. The hospice team was fabulous. The facilities health coordinator was not great but it was because the staff kept changing. The outside patio was fun. They brought in animals... a horse, ducks and dogs... that was fun! The food was good, they ate dinner early... 4:30. I had to ask for a care conference- hopefully they have more staff to accommodate their families. Once we had the care conference- I did feel better about her stay there.

There has been a turnover of almost all staff since my Dad started the end of December. I mentioned it would be good to have new staff's pictures on the wall. Everyone has been pretty friendly except the part time people I don't know at all and I'm there often. Dad complains about the food, but there is a new chef taking over soon. There are plenty of activities offered, but he has not joined often. I wish he was encouraged more.

My loved one was only here for a few months. I would have liked the administrators to check in with the resident a few times. Mom wasn't always able to communicate with care attendants very well. We would recommend Elk Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and we would have Mom stay there again, if necessary.

Staff is really hands on and gets to know the residents on a personal level, and always address concerns quickly when brought to their attention. The food has a lack of flavor, it is often over cooked or cold.

In general it seems like a relatively good place after improvements to the food service were made. I would recommend that anyone considering an AL facility would eat a couple meals there to see how the staff and food are, and how the residents interact with each other during meal since this is one of the most social times of each day.

We haven't been there since [date removed] since dad passed away. The biggest problem we had was things missing from dad's room. Still trying to get a quilt back. I understand the environment but at some point items should reappear like his glasses. My focus has not been on he facility as it has I have ben focused on finalizing his last paper work. If it wasn't for those things, it would have ben all 5 star. He lost his quilt, glasses, watch and a ring. These were items he wouldn't give up so we didn't take them away from him. We should have known better. They were all very very nice and helpful. Personal items. Locked up closet doors would help a lot. Dad also like to pack his things and a locked door would help with that and keep others out of the closet as well.
