When my mom was here, they did take care of her but they were not very attentive. One time we came in and she was in her wheelchair for over an hour and drooling. We got her up and when we talked to the staff member working she said she had checked on her an hour ago so we were disappointed she had been there that long. We were upset with the care, they did have a lot of younger staff here.

I would not recommend anybody to send a relative in there with Alzheimer's or dementia none of the nurses or AIDS have Alzheimer's training they're also very much understaffed and no cleaning staff to speak of

No communication. No activities director. They don't clean bathrooms in residents rooms. There's bullying my residents going on. Nothing being done about it. Sub par supposed "gourmet" meals. No communication to family is biggest complaint.

This facility use to be a very nice facility but has gone down hill. I visited a friend and he put his call light on and I kept track of the amount of time it took for some one to come it was 35.minutes. He was short of breath on top of it. I went looking for someone and I could not find anyone. Was going to call 911. :(

Went to visit a friend at Golden Horizons memory care and it was so sad. One girl running around doing everything from dressing to food and memory behaviors happening. The charge lady came over and did not stay to help her. One resident trying to get out. So sad! I will be speaking to her family about moving her.

When we arrived on time for the tour the RN was on her cell phone. She hung up by saying good bye honey so I believe it was family. She came out of office and headed down the hall with coat on. She returned smelling like smoke. Our tour started 1/2hour late with no apology for making us wait. The tour was short and we were given a folder for pricing and sent on our way. No chance to ask questions as the RN said she was so busy.Bad smells in building and unfriendly staff. More like a prison.

When we toured it smelled like urine. The head lady [name removed] kept saying she was so busy doing two jobs she was very rude and did not seem to know the answers to the questions we asked. An activity going on was singing and only 3 residents were there.

To anyone who is thinking of sending their loved one to Golden Horizons, Crosslake, MN, please read this review - My mother was here until [date removed]and I can only say that this place is “inhumane”. During pandemic no one was allowed in and we could only see her through window. In that time, her glasses were lost and she was unable to see. We were never contacted about this. Some of her furniture in her room was missing and never returned. The most disturbing and upsetting thing to us, was she was sent to hospital in ambulance and we were never notified. The ER doctor called us to let us know she was there with head injury, black eye, and stitches. We called Golden Horizons and no one was there to answer phone. And it was not unusual to find administrator gone and no one to answer door. We moved her right away to new facility in Crosslake and she was treated with utmost care. I cannot emphasize enough what a poorly run, understaffed, facility this is. Think twice before going here.

Horrible place. Do not notify family about serious incidents, drug their residents and let them sit on a couch all day. Left on a toilet way too long. I hope this place gets shut down!
