We could not be happier that we found this place. Mom has fallen in love with it. She has all her friends that she sold clothes to there with her. She really enjoys the meals and mingling with her friends. Mom is more vibrant and lively since she has been here. We picked here because it was in the same neighborhood where we have always lived and it helped to keep things familiar.

Mom seems to be settling in at Golden Horizons of Crosslake. The administrator was very friendly but we had some disconnect regarding where exactly the money for the holding fee was going to go, my suggestion is to get everything promised or otherwise in writing. I also think it would be helpful for new residents to have an advocate or ambassador assigned to them in their new environment to know what is available to them. We like the fact that they make sure she gets her medication and there are three meals a day provided for her. The staff is friendly but not providing the personalized customer care service without being told how to make the residents more comfortable. Such as asking for the light bulbs to be replaced, or help placing or giving the towel to the resident so that it does not get wet or dropped. Generally, the food is okay, except on the weekends they seem to serve mostly sandwiches. My mom's room has a view of a wooded setting where she can enjoy deer and squirrel activity. They have a nice porch area and sidewalks to walk around to enjoy the outdoors.

The staff at this community were nice and helpful during dad's stay. They did try to accommodate his dietary needs. The community is clean and well maintained. They offer some daily activities, outings and get togethers. I would recommend this community.

Our loved one needed help with the day to day tasks. She just couldn't keep up with the house work, and her health was starting to decline. We talked to her about staying somewhere local and close to the hospital. She didn't want to go to the nursing home. It would have been hard on her, mentally, if she did. We decided on an assisted living. This one worked for us because it was so close, and I'm so glade she loves it there. They are very friendly and kind. They just understand what she needs.

It's a smaller facility with only 1 level. Residents become family fast. Sidewalk that goes around facility for nice outside walks.

My mother lives in Golden Horizons Memory Care she has been there since it opened and loves it. RN [name removed]is very caring and helpful and concerned for the residents. Staff is caring to my mother. She has a lot of space to wander in the facility. It’s a beautiful facility very home like. Activities are held on both sides. The MC side they even dance! Food is great with birthday party’s monthly.

I would recommend the facility with some caveats. The caregivers vary somewhat in their cheerfulness/niceness, but most were pretty good. The housekeeping seemed quite good. We didn't have to move our dad in ourselves since he was brought over from the hospital. Moving the furniture in was no big deal. Communication was okay - somewhat spotty at times. I was not impressed with the quality of the meals, not very balanced between protein, vegetables, and starches. Also very inconsistent from day to day. I guess my main suggestion would be to get a better dietitian.

The reason we gave the care services a 3 out of 5 is because they are short staffed all of the time. They just need more qualified help. Aides need more training. Most were polite and nice, just poorly trained and inexperienced

It seems we have to stay right on top of things. No initiative is made by employees. Phone calls regarding stuff they should take care of for over $5000 a month. We get a call, run there and it is not a valid need. For example: Your mom needs cat food and litter and the litter box is broken. We get there and the litter box is fine, she had 10# of food and 15# of litter. Overall we are happy though. There are a lot of activities including exercises etc.

I would recommend this location to other families. The facility is rather new so everything they have is up to date. They have their main area that kind of branches off into a separate dining room, a separate TV room, and they have an onsite salon. My mother likes to get her hair and nails done regularly so it’s really nice. They also have an enclosed outdoor patio area that is accessible for the memory care unit. If it is warm and nice outside the residents can go outside if they would like. It’s a secured area too; you would need a code to access the unit. The staff overall does a great job. The nurses are knowledgeable and they seem to know what they are doing. However, there are one or two aids that a bit rough around the edges but that’s to be expected in a newer facility. Other than that the majority of the staff is great.

I met with [Removed], the place is reasonable... She referred me to county VA person. I've filled out GH paperwork and intend to return this week.

The staff at the Park Lane Estates community have been wonderful to my mother. They take her to the doctor when they have any concerns. On my visits, my mother is always clean and the place smells good, it doesn't smell like a nursing home. They offer a variety of activities such as singing, bingo nights, and plenty of other games for the residents to interact with each other. The room my loved one is in is perfect for her needs. The bathroom is to die for, the tub is a walk in and is self-draining. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

My tour went great at this community, the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The place looked clean and well maintained. The residents were playing trivia when i was there and they also offer a lot more activities.

There was no other place that could take him, which is why we picked them. It's ok. They definitely need more staff. It's been 1 year since my husband was there. He passed away. Not sure if things have gotten better with that issue or not.

We like it because it is close in location very inconvenient and there is always something going on to keep our loved one busy. We do know they are understaffed, so sometimes the meal and dining service is a hit or a miss, but all in all they are competitive with the other communities in the area

When my mom was here, they did take care of her but they were not very attentive. One time we came in and she was in her wheelchair for over an hour and drooling. We got her up and when we talked to the staff member working she said she had checked on her an hour ago so we were disappointed she had been there that long. We were upset with the care, they did have a lot of younger staff here.

I would not recommend anybody to send a relative in there with Alzheimer's or dementia none of the nurses or AIDS have Alzheimer's training they're also very much understaffed and no cleaning staff to speak of

No communication. No activities director. They don't clean bathrooms in residents rooms. There's bullying my residents going on. Nothing being done about it. Sub par supposed "gourmet" meals. No communication to family is biggest complaint.
